From the pharmaceutical marketing techniques and increased prescription of opioid painkillers, to the small town in Nayarit, Mexico where black tar heroin is produced, to the drivers who carry small balloons filled with heroin in their mouths and deliver them a focus on customer service. Dreamland has that rare quality of being both exhaustively detailed and utterly fascinating, and comes highly recommended by every major book review in the country.
