Hello Again!!
Today on the podcast I’m delighted to welcome @WillAbbott__
Will is the head of academy strength and conditioning at Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club and he joins me today to share his ideas on GPS data in youth football. In this episode we also discuss in detail the systems that Will uses to help his team recover from training and game load.
This episode was recorded at 3am Thai time, therefore I apologise if my questioning is a little off!
In this episode, we cover the following:
· Global positioning systems (GPS) and their use in youth football
· RPE (Rate of perceived exertion) rating – a strategy to measure pitch based training load.
· Recovery: nutrition, hydration and sleep. We will also discuss methods to implement systems for each.
· Wills ‘point system’ which gives players some ownership over their own recovery, providing them with a guided system to achieve optimal restoration from matches.
Thanks for listening and I’ll see you on the next show in a few weeks
