Today is a follow-up of a previous episode on D pics and nudes in middle school; this is a thing.  Truly, this is a phenom I am experiencing as a parent of an 8th grade student.  In this episode,  I discuss some possible solutions to this ongoing problem such as TALKING with our young people!  We really need to sit down and create space for these uncomfortable topics because it is our responsibility to guide young people; not just expect them to know all of this shit.  

Listen, I made a plethora of troubling decisions in my youth and although I was making the best choice I knew at that time, having some fucking guidance would have served me well!!  I feel like we need to educate our young people and even if dick picks and nudes are a part of the sex education program, this is better than not talking about it at all.  Reacting by shaming is not solving the problem and the school system does not currently have space for these necessary conversations to take place.  It is up to all of us to create space for this uncomfortable topic in order to serve an entire population of maturing young people.

I do not have all the answers so please, do not for a moment think I am coming from that angle.  I do talk about all things uncomfortable in my home and can honestly say, it is helping my daughter.  I just want to bring the topic to the table so we don't leave our young people out in the dark to damage their reputation when we know a better way exists.
