Arty starts with their first studio album and their first single, Arnold Layne, and talks about the many transformations of this band. When they first came on the world scene they were very much like a psychedelic Rolling Stones or Beatles. When they tragically lost their front man, Syd Barret, due to health issues, they struggled to come up with a new identity -- but an identity that is theirs.

They spent a few years and albums trying to carry on that Syd Barret psychedelic/rock approach to the music. They came up with some good stuff. But when Roger Waters took over the songwriting and wanted to make the band a band known for great thematic albums, they hit superstardom -- Fast!

But then Roger Waters left.

What would the band be now? It kept the name Pink Floyd, but made music that was very different from the Syd Barret/Roger Waters form of Pink Floyd. Yes, when you have 3 different front men, you end up with three different bands. Though the music was good over the years, too many people ONLY know what form of Pink Floyd, but there are many.

Enjoy this trip through the annals of time as Arty dissects all the forms of Pink Floyd. See if you can tell which Pink Floyd Arty liked best.
