Hi guys, I'm Rachel Lindsay. And I'm Allie

0:04

for the Tuskegee Mano. And you are listening

0:06

to Bachelor Happy Hour. This

0:09

is our first podcast. I know, I'm

0:11

so excited. We've been talking about this for a

0:13

while. This is something that we're really passionate about

0:15

and we feel like as two former bachelorettes

0:18

who have two completely different stories,

0:20

we've got a lot that we can tell. You've been the

0:22

success story, I am the failure. Okay,

0:25

failure in Bachelor Nation, but not

0:27

outside of Bachelor Nation. Not in life, not in life. I

0:30

know, I'm so excited about this show you guys, because I

0:32

have been a super fan of the show ever

0:34

since I was a bachelorette. It's

0:36

pretty much a decade ago, 10 years ago now.

0:39

We're going to have the most exclusive guests on

0:41

this podcast. No, we're going to have breaking news.

0:43

We're going to have guests before anyone else gets

0:46

them on the podcast. We'll be giving behind the scenes

0:48

information only that two

0:50

former bachelorettes can give. Oh yeah, all

0:52

the behind the scenes info. It's funny, one of my followers,

0:56

I posted that I was going to be doing something with Bachelor

0:58

Nation, and the first thing my follower said was, no,

1:00

you're always so honest about the episodes on your blog,

1:02

don't not be on the podcast. I was like, oh no, no,

1:05

no. This podcast is going to be

1:07

the truth, the raw truth, all

1:09

the editing secrets, all the behind the scenes

1:11

goodies with the producers. We will definitely

1:14

tell you. I have no filter. I don't know how

1:16

to do anything but keep it real, and I feel

1:18

like that's exactly what you're going to get when you listen to this podcast,

1:21

so I can't wait.

1:26

Today's

1:29

very first podcast is so good.

1:32

Oh my gosh, there's so much

1:34

to break down. We're going to have amazing guests

1:36

on the podcast too. We have Demi, who's Hannah's

1:39

best friend, and was with her when all the JET

1:41

stuff went down. I can't wait to hear what she's going to have to say

1:43

because Demi always keeps it honest and

1:45

real. Mm-hmm, like you. I feel like you

1:47

guys are like long lost sisters or something. Smart girl. I've

1:49

loved her for a distance from a long time, so I can't wait to hear what she's

1:52

going to say, and we've got Peter coming on the show,

1:54

who we're going to be the first ones to talk to him since

1:56

after the final rose. I can't

1:58

wait to hear

1:59

what he's going to say. I have all the questions.

2:01

You know, we're going to ask him questions that

2:03

maybe aren't TV appropriate. Only we

2:06

can have in this safe space on

2:08

Bachelor Happy Hour. Oh yeah, yeah, I thought you meant naughty

2:10

things. I'm like not sweet little Peter's peers. Oh, I'm asking Peter

2:12

whatever I want. Like beware,

2:15

but tune in. Well, it's so funny because

2:17

what I can't wait to talk to him about, and we'll get to this in a minute, but

2:19

is that he's so innocent. He like reminds me of

2:21

my little brother, but like he's the

2:23

windmill guy. Yeah. We got to get into

2:26

that with him. He's the windmill guy. Yeah, because I want

2:28

to know how he felt about Hannah revealing

2:30

that. And there's so many other questions

2:32

to ask him that. But yeah, we definitely have to ask him

2:34

about the Hannah Jed situation because he

2:36

lived with Jed. He knows Jed and he can

2:38

give a different perspective than what we're seeing

2:41

or what we're reading in magazines. It's hard

2:43

to be that excited right now because of everything

2:45

that went down on the

2:47

live taping of The Bachelorette. I know. I

2:49

feel like I'm excited. I'm frustrated. I'm confused.

2:52

I'm upset. There are so many emotions

2:54

going through me right now after watching that

2:57

finale. I've never seen anything like it before. I

2:59

think we should save the Jed stuff for the end, though.

3:01

That's like too sad. I can't even get into that right

3:03

now. Yeah, that's heavy. Yeah. Let's

3:05

start on the light note, right? Because this is the first time that

3:07

people are listening to us. So let's start on a high note.

3:10

Let's do it. And I think that high note is one

3:13

word, and that is Tyler.

3:15

Hannah, Tyler and Hannah together. Sorry,

3:17

I'm a little bit jealous right now. I'm married with two children,

3:19

and I'm like, oh gosh, Hannah and Tyler.

3:22

Tyler is so hot. We ended the finale

3:25

with her asking Tyler out on a date, asking

3:27

him to go have drinks. And he accepted. Are

3:30

we about to have our first fight, Rachel? Is that what you're

3:32

telling me? We're about to have our first fight. Yes,

3:34

we are. All right, well, let's see if our opinions

3:37

differ.

3:38

My thoughts were, I'm happy

3:41

for them. I'm happy for them. I

3:44

think that if they are

3:46

able to make this relationship work after

3:48

him sort of being

3:50

her second choice, I'm

3:52

happy if they can do that. Do I

3:54

think that's probable? Probably

3:57

not. But I wish

3:59

them the best. That's sort of where I

4:01

sort of come out on all of that. Okay, I'm gonna

4:03

do a compliment sandwich here.

4:06

Okay. So I'm gonna start off with something positive,

4:08

but I'm gonna stuff it with some negativity. I

4:11

think that's gonna be the meat

4:13

of it. I love that it ended

4:15

on a high note, because I really do feel

4:18

sorry for Hannah and all of this. And

4:21

we have enjoyed a great season.

4:23

There have been a lot of highs and lows, and it has been

4:26

extremely entertaining. But at the

4:28

expense of Hannah and her emotions.

4:30

And so it was nice to see her

4:32

smiling and laughing, and

4:34

so flirty with Tyler. I appreciated

4:37

that, okay? That's one side of the

4:39

book. All right, now let's get us

4:41

to that stuff. Now I'm stepping the sandwich. I

4:43

think there have to be lessons learned from this

4:45

whole journey that she's had. And one

4:48

of those is to kind of go

4:50

through this in a logical way. Don't just lead

4:52

with your heart, lead with your emotions. Don't

4:54

become infatuated and get caught up in the

4:56

moment. You really have to think things through

4:59

and take your time. And so I really

5:02

hope that she does that with Tyler, but

5:04

I agree with you. I just don't see that that

5:06

can actually happen. At the same

5:09

time for Tyler, it's like

5:11

she didn't pick you. She said

5:13

she was in love with someone else. That didn't work

5:16

out. Now I wanna talk

5:18

to you. Is he just caught up in the emotion

5:20

of things right now? To answer, Tui, both

5:22

your kind of points. Is one, the stuff about being

5:25

caught up in the moment. I don't think this was a spur

5:27

of the moment decision. I think they've been texting.

5:29

I think they've been in contact. I mean, when she came up

5:31

on that stage or he came up rather, that

5:33

was not the first time that they have talked

5:36

since the show. Come on. I agree

5:38

with you. I don't think that's the first time they've talked.

5:40

I think that it was not a spur

5:43

of the moment thing for her. I think he

5:45

was caught off guard. If you

5:46

saw his face, he kind of was like,

5:49

I mean, yeah, we can have a drink and catch

5:51

up. You know, he didn't say I'm all in. Let's get

5:53

this whole thing started. He wasn't really on the same

5:55

page as her. Now to

5:57

end this with another positive note.

6:00

I'm not mad at it because that knocks Tyler

6:03

out of the running for Bachelor and I can

6:05

keep promoting Mike. Okay, now

6:07

Mike steps it up again, you know, I'm for

6:09

this. Rachel's for Mike, I'm for Peter,

6:12

so we're gonna also argue about that a little bit. Argue

6:14

it number two. Fight number two

6:16

and we're only a few minutes into the podcast. No,

6:19

but also another point though, I'm gonna actually

6:21

bring in the whole mother aspect. The

6:24

fact that he's the runner up, her

6:26

second choice really, I

6:29

don't know that that's necessarily a

6:30

bad thing for the chances of the

6:32

relationship. I mean, look at Ari and Lauren. Like

6:35

they just had a baby and she was

6:38

by far

6:39

his second choice. Oh,

6:42

Ally, I think it's apples and oranges

6:44

because he made a conscious decision

6:47

to, yes he chose back up, but he made the

6:49

conscious decision to end

6:51

it and then go after

6:53

Lauren. You're right, you're right. That's not what Hannah didn't

6:55

make the choice to end it. Hannah

6:57

was duped. She

7:00

was dating or was engaged

7:02

to somebody who turned out to be a completely different person.

7:05

By default,

7:06

she has decided to go back to Tyler. It's not by choice.

7:09

No, I'm definitely with you there. There is

7:11

obviously so much we could talk about, but I feel like we

7:13

really need to go all the way back to the beginning and really

7:16

rehash how we got to this point.

7:18

I feel like you've had some interesting

7:20

feeling. You always tell it like it is, Rachel. That's one of the reasons

7:22

I like. I feel like that's why we bonded even when we first

7:25

met. Yes.

7:26

And you weren't totally thrilled with

7:29

Hannah becoming the bachelor. Is that right? Yes, and I'm

7:31

glad you asked me that question because I really want to clear that up. The

7:33

reason I said I wasn't thrilled, one, I was caught

7:35

off guard on the red carpet, which should never happen, but

7:38

two, because I had been such a proponent

7:40

for an older bachelorette. I

7:42

wasn't really into, I never thought they would reach

7:45

back and pick number seven, eight, whatever Hannah was.

7:47

I just was more of like, you know what, let's

7:49

do for the women what they've been doing for the men. You

7:51

know, for the bachelor, they've gone back and they've picked

7:53

older bachelors, so why not do it for the women? That

7:56

is all I meant

7:56

by that. But I will say, in watching

7:59

Hannah,

7:59

you can see the progression

8:02

of Hannah during her season. And I feel

8:04

like the Bachelor, everybody has

8:06

their own journey. Let's go ahead and start using these

8:08

Bachelor cliches. This is Bachelor happy hour,

8:10

so why not? But everyone has their

8:13

own journey, whether that be a journey of love, whether

8:15

that be a journey of heartache, or whether that just

8:17

be a journey of self-awareness

8:20

and learning who you are. And that's what I feel

8:22

like we're getting from Hannah. You can see

8:24

that in episode nine, she

8:27

is not the same Hannah that gave Luke P.

8:29

The first impression rose. And even

8:32

the same Hannah that said, stay in your lane. Exactly.

8:34

And I have enjoyed watching Hannah come into

8:37

her own. So you heard it here first.

8:39

I have no problems with Hannah B. None

8:42

whatsoever. And I truly have enjoyed

8:44

watching her season. I found it quite entertaining.

8:47

I thought it's been so good. I

8:49

just, I think too, after Colton season,

8:51

I thought, okay, you know, every season we

8:54

hear Chris Harrison and Chris Harrison

8:56

fashion say, this is the most dramatic

8:58

season ever. And it

8:59

just keeps being true. Like before

9:02

he would say it, it was never really true for a while.

9:04

Sorry, Chris, but it was like, okay, that was the same as the

9:06

last season. The last few seasons, it has

9:08

been like, oh my gosh, it really is the

9:10

most dramatic season ever. And I think this

9:13

really is too, because this season is completely

9:15

different because we, no, I mean, I'm

9:18

trying to think back right now, but has there ever been a season

9:20

before where they're just like completely done? I mean,

9:22

I'm thinking all the way back to Jason Mesnick season, where it was

9:24

like him and Melissa, breaks up with Melissa. This

9:26

is way OG guys. This is where you're gonna get the difference

9:29

between me and Rachel. I'm the OG. I'm gonna talk about

9:31

like seasons back with Jason Mesnick. So if you're a, and I've

9:33

never heard of these people. No, what? Just

9:35

kidding. I know Jason Mesnick. Yes, we met him

9:37

at the Bachelorette reunion. But there are differences

9:40

because

9:40

like you said, you've been a fan of the show. I wasn't.

9:43

I did not watch the show until I was on the show. And now

9:45

I've fallen in love with it and it worked for me. He

9:47

really did

9:49

take away this experience from her.

9:51

He did. Do you think he did? Oh,

9:54

what's that? What's that look? You guys can't see

9:56

her face right now, but there's

9:58

some skepticism. in there. Let

10:00

me also just say that when you hear me pause,

10:03

it's probably because I'm taking a drink because this

10:05

is Bachelor Happy Hour. So we do want

10:07

you to drink responsibly, but we also do want you to

10:09

drink with us. So we do drink

10:11

throughout the podcast as we should. Happy Hour

10:14

is the best hour. So please make sure you join us

10:16

during this hour. And we don't discriminate, you know,

10:18

actually we kind of do discriminate

10:20

on the Bachelor. It's mostly champagne, but we have wine in

10:22

here today. We do have wine. Maybe we should have had champagne

10:25

first episode. We're gonna change it up. We're gonna change it up

10:27

each time. Yeah, all right. And it will do things different

10:29

all the time.

10:30

Okay. Okay. Do I think that

10:32

Jed took this experience

10:34

away from Hannah? Yes and no.

10:37

Ooh, do you think she took it away from herself? No,

10:40

I don't think that she, that's what I said

10:42

about the progression

10:45

of Hannah. She has had

10:47

a journey and maybe it didn't end the way that

10:49

she thought, but she, he

10:52

didn't take anything away from her. Look at how

10:54

Hannah has grown. I mean, when

10:56

Hannah started her season, everybody

10:59

was like, oh my gosh, she can't form her sentence. Oh my gosh,

11:01

she can't, she can't express herself. Then

11:03

she stands there and tells Luke

11:05

P off better than I

11:07

could have done myself. And I, and I think that

11:10

I could tell somebody off in two seconds. That's

11:12

a really good compliment coming from you. It

11:14

was well thought out. She made such good

11:16

points. It was passionate and it, it,

11:19

it had purpose. And that is a

11:21

Hannah that if you weren't behind her

11:23

before, you were behind her after that. So

11:26

Jed did not take that away from Hannah. Hannah

11:28

really found herself throughout this season. So

11:31

that's why I say no. Yes, in

11:33

the sense that her goal obviously was to

11:35

find her person at the end of this and

11:37

she didn't because she was bamboozled

11:41

kind of by Jed. The other

11:43

thing I think about that is Jed told her

11:45

how he came onto the season. It's

11:48

not just that he changed his mind. It's the

11:50

whole purpose of him wanting

11:52

to be on the show. He came on the show to

11:55

deceive her. That is a hard pill for

11:57

me to swallow. I couldn't see

11:59

past that.

11:59

if I was on The Bachelorette and a guy

12:02

told me, hey, I came here to deceive you, but

12:04

actually I've fallen in love with you. I

12:07

don't believe- But I don't know that he necessarily came

12:09

to deceive her. He came to help his music

12:11

career. Actually, you know what? Not used to talk about it.

12:14

The girlfriend thing, that makes him, but

12:16

when he told her about the music, she didn't know about

12:18

the girlfriend. Like knowing about the girlfriend, yes, he came there

12:20

to deceive her, but just the music, like I

12:23

came on the show, just when I was on The Bachelor,

12:25

I went on just to have a good time, right? Like I, and

12:27

I really, most people I've talked

12:29

to from the show, I'm curious what you have to say,

12:31

when they sign up to go on the show as a contestant.

12:34

So not as The Bachelorette, that's different. At that point, you know

12:36

it works and you're looking for love, because you know

12:38

it can work. But as a contestant, I went on

12:40

thinking like, I'm gonna go for, I

12:42

worked at Facebook at the time. It was a whole storyline when I was

12:44

on The Bachelor. I left to go back to my job. I remember telling

12:47

my boss, I'll be gone for like two weeks and then I'll come

12:49

back. And I said the same thing. I thought I was gonna go have some

12:51

fun, have some drinks, sit by the pool, get

12:53

eliminated pretty early, because I just

12:55

didn't think I'd be there that long. And things

12:58

changed when I got there. And

13:00

then I realized, oh my gosh, I can find love. Oh my gosh, I

13:02

can, you know,

13:05

get a relationship out of this. And

13:08

I think now I try to put myself in Jed's shoes.

13:10

My thing with Jed is

13:12

when Jed sat there and told

13:14

Hannah, hey, so blah,

13:17

blah, blah, blah, I came on here for

13:19

music first. He prefaced

13:21

it by giving this whole soliloquy about

13:24

how music is his life.

13:26

And he has loved music before he could even walk.

13:30

And his grandparents were in it. I think

13:32

it was his father's, one of his parents is into music

13:34

and music is just so a part of his family and it

13:36

means so much to him. You're 25.

13:39

So for 25 years, that has been your

13:41

world. And you're telling me that is why

13:44

you came on the show for your world, what

13:46

has been so crucial for

13:48

you for 25 years. And all

13:50

of a sudden, from

13:52

eight days, you're gonna put

13:54

that aside for a girl you don't know who's

13:56

dating 20 plus other men. Get

13:59

out of here. I

14:00

would not have been able to unsee it.

14:01

I see what you're saying, I do. But

14:04

obviously I was f***ing

14:07

right. And you're gonna have to beep, bleep that out.

14:09

But I'm sorry. Obviously

14:12

I will give you that. I will give you that. And

14:14

with that I think I'm gonna pour myself a little bit more

14:16

wine. Okay, before we go on, we gotta talk about Peter. He's gonna

14:18

be calling in in a few minutes. This guy's always

14:20

on a plane somewhere, so we had to like get him in

14:22

between flights to come on the show. We're like, please just

14:24

call in. I adore Peter.

14:27

I was so heartbroken. You don't like

14:29

him? Rachel, you must be the only

14:31

person out there

14:31

that doesn't like him. I don't dislike Peter.

14:34

I don't dislike Peter at all. I think that Peter's

14:37

like, I don't know, Magoo.

14:40

Magoo? Like Mr. Magoo. I

14:43

just don't think that there's, I think Peter

14:46

is so sweet and he seems cute.

14:48

I've even joked that I think he's got the haircut

14:51

of a toddler. I think that he

14:53

seems like a really sweet boy. Peter

14:56

is no longer gonna be a guest on the podcast. He

14:58

just called in and said he's not talking to us.

15:00

But I'm not like swept off my feet

15:03

when it comes to Peter. I think that Peter seems

15:05

so sweet and so nice, but

15:07

I'm very indifferent. I don't

15:09

sway either

15:10

way when it comes to Peter. I guess that's my

15:12

thing. I'm not caught up in the Peter

15:14

craze. I love him. I just think

15:17

he's so sweet. And what I liked about him though, did

15:19

you had to have seen this on the show, that he's

15:22

like kind of like been really dorky all season.

15:24

He like, I love dorks. Magoo. Dorks

15:26

are my jam. My husband's a big dork and I love

15:28

him for it. So,

15:32

love you babe. I'm probably gonna be in a couple for saying that later.

15:34

But, you know, he's been awkward.

15:36

He like awkwardly threw her on the pool table and

15:38

like hit his head off the lamp and then

15:40

awkwardly laid her down in the sauna. And every

15:42

time I would laugh out loud watching Peter

15:44

try to make out with Hannah, it was the best.

15:47

But after the fantasy suite,

15:50

after the windmill, that

15:52

was a new Peter. I mean, he had this confidence.

15:55

He was like, this is my girl. I was

15:57

like, that is the Peter that like.

16:00

is hot. Like that is like,

16:02

that's a hot Peter. He said mic

16:04

drop after his fantasy sweet

16:06

date. So that bubble was burst

16:09

real quick when she didn't give him a rose. Like

16:11

he had to question what he did in that windmill

16:13

because obviously he thought he sealed the deal

16:16

and it really was his plane ticket home. Yeah.

16:18

And I would think, well, maybe something happened. I

16:20

just think she described him as her Ken doll. And

16:24

I just think that he was,

16:26

there's nothing wrong with him. He's great on paper.

16:29

I think it was this, when I really started to

16:31

like Peter, it was during his hometown. And

16:33

then when I stepped back, I thought,

16:35

oh wait, you really just loved his family. It

16:38

wasn't that you were so into him. Like he's just a good guy,

16:40

a great package, but he just

16:42

doesn't have that factor,

16:44

you know? Well,

16:45

it seems like now is a good time to call him.

16:48

Hey, Peter. So

16:51

I think we should do that. Let's go ahead and dial

16:53

him up. You got his number? Yeah. Let's

16:55

go.

16:56

Let's do it.

17:02

Hey, Peter,

17:03

welcome to our podcast. Oh my gosh. We're

17:05

so excited to talk to you. Hey guys.

17:07

Yeah. I'm stoked to be here. Thanks for having

17:09

me. Yes. Thank you so much for being here and talking

17:11

to us. This is our very first podcast. It's called

17:14

Bachelor Happy Hour. We're

17:16

so happy to have you on it. So thank

17:18

you for being here, but also you're welcome

17:20

because you're about to have such a good time. All

17:23

right. I'm looking forward to it. Let's do it. All

17:26

right. We have so many questions. So I say we just

17:28

get into this. So Peter, oh my gosh, my

17:30

heart broke when everything

17:32

happened, when Hannah said goodbye to you.

17:35

You've got to walk us through that. I mean, you

17:37

had to have been blindsided in that moment.

17:40

Yeah. Yeah.

17:42

That was a rough day for sure. You

17:44

know, I remember going into, so I was

17:47

the first fantasy suite date

17:49

for that week in Greece. And so I

17:51

had kind of a week to, you know, just

17:54

play everything back in my head and just, you know,

17:56

think about everything. And I remember feeling

17:59

so...

17:59

so confident and so secure in

18:02

what we had right after that.

18:04

That day was amazing. The whole night, everything about

18:06

it was just so amazing, our relationship. I

18:08

truly felt, you know, I was on that next level

18:11

and that was my person. So

18:13

I remember going to that ceremony, still feeling very,

18:15

very confident. Had a little bit of nerves,

18:17

but just

18:19

feeling so good about it all. And then, you

18:21

know, she calls Judd's name and there's one

18:23

more rose there. And, you know,

18:25

obviously the nerves are starting to pick up, but I still

18:27

felt really good about it. And then she

18:30

says Tyler's name.

18:31

And I just remember going

18:34

into complete shock and just

18:36

being completely blindsided, just didn't

18:39

expect that whatsoever. I remember just

18:41

kind of, I felt like I had no emotion. And

18:43

then she, you know, Hannah asked if she could

18:46

walk me out and talk a little bit. And we sat

18:48

down and talked, but I just remember, again,

18:50

I was in so much shock that I couldn't even, I

18:53

didn't even think to ask her, you know, why, what

18:55

happened? And just in that moment, I, my

18:57

brain wasn't processing that. It just was like, wow,

18:59

this is it. Like this is done, the relationships,

19:02

it's over now. And then

19:05

I saw that car come up. Yeah. And

19:07

it was just all emotion flooded out.

19:08

Well, where did you think you ranked? Like, I mean,

19:11

did you think you were her number one or were you like,

19:13

oh, maybe like, I know Jed and her are really

19:15

close. Like, how did you feel about that? Like

19:18

where you were in terms of all the guys?

19:21

Well, I knew that, you know, she had

19:23

solid relationships with Jed. I'd

19:26

seen that, you know, just from the couple of group

19:28

dates that I was on and same with Tyler. So

19:31

I knew she had solid relationship with them, but

19:33

I,

19:34

after that date that we had and

19:37

just waking up the next morning and saying bye to

19:39

her, I had zero

19:41

doubt that it was me and her. So

19:43

that's kind of just what made it so hard. And,

19:45

you know, just kind of blindsided me from

19:47

it.

19:48

Well, you, we all, we know all about your

19:50

fantasy suite. Yeah,

19:52

Peter, I mean, let's, let's talk

19:55

about it, right? Because Hannah did, Hannah

19:57

talked about it and I just have to ask you.

19:59

How did you feel with Hannah

20:02

outing you about the details

20:04

of your fantasy suite? And I know we don't know everything,

20:06

but she did kind of put it out there. And

20:09

I'm sure before asking for your permission.

20:11

So how did that make you feel?

20:13

Yeah, she did. I

20:16

think it's definitely a parent that Hannah I put

20:19

the windmill on the map now, but we, yeah. I

20:23

wasn't expecting it just cause you know, obviously

20:25

there's, you

20:27

know, it's a very intimate experience and

20:29

you know, for that privacy, usually

20:32

the details don't come out, but I'm

20:34

kind of watching it back and seeing why it came out

20:36

and what caused her to do that. It

20:38

made sense to me. And honestly, there was no hard feelings

20:40

there. I understand being in a heated

20:43

moment like that, things slip, you say things

20:46

and that's exactly what happened and with her.

20:48

So,

20:50

you know, it is what it is.

20:52

I'm honestly, I'm very comfortable,

20:55

you know, with my sexuality and talking about sex like

20:57

that. So I'm not, I should come, I guess the

20:59

anti-luc in that regard, but it

21:02

was, yeah, it is what it is.

21:04

And yes, the whole world knows now, but. And

21:07

windmills will never be the same. No

21:09

one will ever look at a windmill the same way again.

21:12

I'm sure it's unseen now that it's insane. Yeah,

21:15

Peter, we know you're comfortable. We remember the

21:17

condoms in the car in the console.

21:21

You want to address that? You want to address that too?

21:23

No, no, no, that was just, that was an

21:25

honest mistake. I truly forgot, I hadn't had my

21:27

car for like two months. I forgot all about that. Safety first,

21:30

I'm all about it. It was great. But

21:32

I have to ask you because we all, we all fell

21:34

in love with your parents and just your family

21:37

in general. You guys were fantastic.

21:39

You had such a great bond. What did your family

21:42

think about all this talk about

21:44

you and the windmill and Hannah?

21:47

I mean, was it a little embarrassing for them?

21:50

I mean, honestly,

21:53

yeah, it was probably a little bit uncomfortable. You don't

21:55

expect your private life like

21:57

that to just be a splayed to the world.

21:59

and possibly watch an episode with your parents

22:02

where some of that stuff comes out. But honestly,

22:05

they were so great about it. Yes, it could have been

22:07

very awkward. And I guess, like I said, it was a little

22:09

bit uncomfortable. But they

22:12

were cool about it. They were just

22:14

making fun about it a little bit. And they

22:17

didn't take it too seriously. So my

22:19

family's always been very, very supportive. And yeah,

22:22

it was all good.

22:24

All right, Peter. But your buddies had to be like

22:26

four times. Heck, yes, not

22:28

once, Pete, but four times. In

22:30

all seriousness, we can have

22:32

a lot of fun talking about the windmill. But you

22:35

did get let go after

22:37

all of that talk about the windmill. So for

22:39

me, how I sort of took it as a viewer

22:41

watching is I was thinking, OK, let's reverse

22:44

gender roles here. Let's say it was The Bachelor

22:47

talking about the windmill with

22:50

a girl and then letting her go home.

22:53

That's hurtful to me.

22:54

That must have really,

22:57

really been hurtful to you. It

22:59

was. It definitely was.

23:04

Yeah, I guess being completely honest, it

23:06

did mess with me a little bit just

23:10

because that was such an amazing night

23:12

for us. And

23:15

I really, yeah, it hurt.

23:18

It was tough. And it took me a while to kind of process

23:20

it and whatnot. But

23:22

at the end of the day, Hannah had

23:25

her reasons. She followed her

23:27

heart. That's what she told us she was going to do from

23:30

the very beginning. And for whatever

23:33

reason, it wasn't me. And she didn't feel

23:35

it with me. So it's

23:38

not a reason for her to keep me just because of the

23:41

windmill and that one amazing night we

23:43

had.

23:43

See, this is why I love you. You are so sweet.

23:45

They are real feelings. And one thing I will

23:48

say is with Hannah, I

23:51

can't even imagine being in her position. Just that's got

23:54

to be so much more difficult balancing multiple

23:56

relationships, not just me looking at just

23:58

one.

23:59

If that's what she felt like she

24:02

needed to do, if that's, you know, she

24:04

had every right to pursue her each

24:06

relationship in whatever way she wanted

24:08

to do. And

24:10

yes, obviously there's true feelings

24:12

there and my heart, you know, was

24:14

broken at the end of this and whatnot.

24:17

But if that's what she felt like she needed

24:19

for her relationship to make decisions

24:21

or whatnot and obviously intimacy

24:23

is a very important part of the relationship, that's

24:26

her call and she's entitled to do that and

24:28

it is what it is. Well

24:29

good, since you have no regrets, do

24:32

you want to be the next bachelor? Let's

24:34

talk about it. Be the next bachelor. Why not?

24:38

Peter, I am all for Peter being the next

24:40

bachelor. You guys

24:43

are awesome. I appreciate that.

24:45

Yes, the short answer is I would

24:47

love that. Absolutely. I've, you

24:49

know, been through this experience. I know

24:51

it works. I've fallen in love. I've spent,

24:54

you know, about two months traveling

24:56

the world, going on amazing experiences

24:59

and just truly getting in there with someone

25:01

and falling in love with them. So absolutely.

25:04

I know it works. There's no reason I wouldn't want

25:06

to, you know, pursue it as the

25:08

bachelor and then hope, you know, at the end I can

25:10

find my person finally and I'm going to

25:12

have an amazing time doing it. So yes, if

25:15

that's

25:15

offered 100%.

25:16

Can I just say I appreciate you

25:18

saying that because sometimes people like beat

25:20

around the bush. Oh, I'm not sure. I'm

25:23

open to finding love again. Yeah. You

25:26

want to be the next. I'm not going

25:27

to be the real you guys. Yeah, you know. Good

25:29

for you, Peter. Own it. Yeah.

25:32

But how do you feel about

25:34

Hannah now? Like have you completely moved

25:36

on

25:37

being very honest to you guys? I wasn't 100%

25:40

over, over the whole relationship. I

25:42

needed to get some answers from her and, um,

25:45

and just some closure. And so I definitely

25:47

needed that. But you know, I'm feeling,

25:49

I'm feeling a lot better after

25:52

having that opportunity to see her and kind of closing,

25:54

closing that chapter and, you know, hopefully

25:56

moving on to, to another one. and

26:00

hopefully the best is yet to come, you know? So Peter,

26:02

you really seem like your whole

26:04

heart was in all of this. You

26:07

know, you could see the emotion. You could see that you were

26:09

very sincere and very honest

26:12

and just all in. There was never a question about

26:15

your loyalty to Hannah throughout

26:17

this season. When you watched

26:20

the season back and you saw Jed

26:22

sit there and say that he came

26:25

on for the wrong reasons, what was your initial

26:27

thought about that?

26:28

You

26:30

know, he was being honest.

26:34

You know, that's,

26:37

obviously that's kind of, it's a weird thing. You

26:39

know, yes, I came on this show.

26:42

This wasn't gonna help my job whatsoever. I

26:45

wasn't looking for anything else besides just

26:47

the opportunity, you know, to

26:50

meet my person and being the hopeless romantic

26:52

I was. This was the craziest and most

26:54

amazing opportunity to do that, so I took it. And

26:58

yes, that was my main

26:59

thing going into the show. And then hearing that from

27:01

Jed, you know, it teaches

27:03

him. He had his reasons, but

27:06

I also know Jed, and Jed is a good person.

27:08

And I had a lot of talks with Jed in the house, and

27:12

I know his feelings for Hannah were

27:14

very, very true and genuine. And obviously

27:17

their relationship really, really took off

27:19

and, you know, they

27:21

fell in love with each other. And,

27:24

you know, I 100% buy that, so.

27:26

I love Peter that you're sharing what

27:29

he said to you, you know, because we just see

27:31

the outside and we're like, does he really have feelings for

27:33

her? Is he sort of playing it up? And so I

27:35

love that, you know, you shared with us that he

27:37

sat down with you and like told you how he was

27:40

feeling about her.

27:41

Yeah, no, I remember being in the mansion.

27:44

One of the first, it was after his first date, we

27:46

were on,

27:47

yeah, after the Mr. Right, and he came back and he

27:49

was like, we're just raving about it. You could just see the glow in

27:52

his face. And he was just,

27:53

it was just me and him, we were doing laundry upstairs. And

27:56

he was like, dude, this girl's amazing. And

27:58

I had really had an opportunity to go.

27:59

on a date with her yet, but I knew what I had seen

28:02

from a little interaction I

28:04

had with her and I was just so excited to start

28:06

getting to know her. And yeah, I, like

28:08

I said, I know Jed is a great dude and his feelings

28:11

were very, very true for her. I

28:13

want someone that, you know, wants

28:15

me just as badly as I want them. And I wouldn't

28:18

want Hannah to have wanted me just

28:20

because she found out, you know, this truth

28:23

about Jed. And then she was like, okay, now, now

28:25

I'll go to Peter. I

28:25

think that's a perfect answer. You're so

28:28

right. You want somebody to love you. So unconditionally

28:30

and intensely that it doesn't matter the outside,

28:33

what's going on. I don't want any other factor

28:36

having anything to do with that. I just want me and that

28:38

person who's had such an amazing connection that that's

28:40

all that matters. And that's why we both choose

28:42

each other.

28:43

Oh, Peter, I want that for you too. But

28:46

one funny thing I will say, it's this is hilarious.

28:49

No one probably knows about the windmill. I

28:51

feel actually really bad about it. But Hannah and I, so

28:53

when we were in it before we, you know, went upstairs,

28:55

there was this little chocolate strawberry

28:58

set up there for us to eat some champagne. We're sitting

29:00

downstairs and we start throwing. I think they

29:02

actually showed it at one of the ends of the

29:04

episodes of me, her trying to throw it in each other's

29:06

mouth and try to catch it. But the

29:09

chocolate has started to melt.

29:10

And so we got really sticky on our fingers and we couldn't

29:12

really throw it right. So these strawberries were going

29:15

everywhere in the windmill and getting everywhere. And so

29:18

the next morning when

29:19

we're leaving, one of the producers

29:21

comes to me and say, yo, you

29:24

guys destroyed that windmill. There

29:27

was some like antique rugs that were on

29:29

the bottom

29:29

of the floor that we were sitting on. But

29:31

all those strawberries and the chocolate had melted

29:34

all over and essentially destroyed all

29:36

of it. And he's like, they're okay with it. They're

29:38

okay with it. But just let you guys know. I'm like,

29:40

oh my God, I feel horrible. But it was just

29:42

kind of a funny little inside thing that happened

29:44

there.

29:45

I thought you were going somewhere else with that

29:47

when you said like chocolate. I thought you were going to say like chocolate

29:49

on the sheets and somebody thought you were on like a chair

29:51

at an accident in bed. It

29:53

wasn't that bad. It

29:55

wasn't that bad. Peter, with all

29:59

the attention that you you all gave that windmill,

30:01

I'm sure they made their money four or five

30:03

times over. They're both back. I think so.

30:05

It's on Airbnb. Yeah, they're doing just fine.

30:08

Couples that are, you know, wanting

30:10

to re-spark the relationship have

30:12

booked that windmill out for the next five

30:14

years. There you go. As Peter

30:16

would say, mic drop. Mic

30:19

drop,

30:19

baby. There we go. Peter,

30:22

thank you so much for coming on the podcast

30:25

and talking with us, and we just wish the best for

30:27

you. Thanks, Peter.

30:28

Thank you so much, guys. I really appreciate it.

30:30

It was great talking to you. Bye. All right,

30:32

bye. All right, guys, still to come, we are going to get

30:34

into everything that happened on After the Final

30:36

Rose, and whew, a lot happened

30:39

there. And we're going to get to talk to Demi. She

30:41

was one of the first people that Hannah talked

30:43

to when she got the news that Jed has

30:45

a girlfriend. But first, we

30:48

got to talk about Tyler. Oh, please. I will

30:50

talk about Tyler all day long because I adore

30:53

him. Tell me you adore Tyler.

30:55

I know, you know, like Peter wasn't

30:57

your fave. I like Peter. I just said he wasn't

31:00

for me. I do like Tyler.

31:01

I think a lot of people, when

31:03

they

31:04

first saw Tyler, they immediately summed him

31:06

up. And I feel like that that's probably what he goes through a lot.

31:09

He's very good looking. He's athletic. He

31:11

played sports. You immediately just think he's a jock

31:13

and he's a player. I didn't put

31:15

those labels on Tyler. Really? Yeah, I did.

31:17

I have to admit, I didn't. From the beginning,

31:19

there was something about him that I just thought seemed

31:22

very sincere. He just seems like, you

31:24

know what, I'm going to be very

31:26

honest in this experience. And if I

31:28

feel Han of and I'm going to go with that, and

31:30

that's what I got from him the entire time. I

31:33

never doubted Tyler

31:34

at all. See, I didn't even notice him at first.

31:36

I just thought, oh, you're right. You're right. I mean, I hate to

31:38

say this, but I thought some jock like, I

31:41

honestly thought like, oh, he doesn't. He's emotionally,

31:45

not intelligent, emotionally, not

31:47

intelligent. Like, and oh, my gosh,

31:50

was I wrong. One of my followers is who pointed

31:52

it out to me. She was like, oh, my gosh, no, Hannah

31:54

and Tyler are going to end up together. And

31:56

I was like, what? And then I started looking and I was like, not

31:59

only do

31:59

they have this crazy connection. And I think Hannah

32:02

herself even said it started a little bit later. But

32:04

he is so in tune with

32:07

his emotions and feelings and every

32:09

single time he spoke, he blew me away. And

32:12

I think what blew me away the most was

32:14

his love for Hannah. Oh

32:16

my gosh, he loved her. That's because he's been

32:18

through some things. He's been through some life experiences

32:21

and that makes you mature really fast. And so yes,

32:23

although he was young, I think he's 25, 26, 25, he's

32:27

been through some things that have made him

32:29

grow

32:29

up faster. But I'm

32:32

still stuck on you saying you don't remember him.

32:34

Do you not remember in his package when he

32:36

was dancing around like a broke off

32:39

footloose? I do remember that. And I remember

32:41

I think I tweeted that it was the straight to movie

32:43

version. No,

32:46

I do remember that, but I remember thinking like, this guy's

32:48

kind of like a joke, like not

32:50

in a bad way, like kind of just being silly

32:53

a joke, not like a joke like a John Paul

32:55

Jones. Yeah, yeah, like a John

32:57

Paul Jones. That's what I thought when I saw that. And honestly,

32:59

until you

32:59

just said that,

33:01

I didn't even know that that was

33:03

Tyler. I thought that was like even somebody else. It's

33:05

just my opinion of him and my perception

33:07

of him changed so much and I'm so glad it did. Honestly, it taught

33:10

me a lesson. The way that Tyler affected

33:12

us and he made a big impression on us and

33:14

we're rooting for Tyler and he was definitely

33:17

a front runner. He obviously affected

33:19

Hannah's parents the exact same way. And

33:22

so I'm very curious with you how, I

33:25

know how my hometowns went when

33:27

the guys had to meet my family, but

33:30

when it was your

33:31

hometown, were the guys, were

33:33

your parents leaning more to one guy than the other?

33:36

Were you against their decision? Well,

33:38

my top two, one was a guy from Massachusetts,

33:40

Cape Cod, Chris Lambton, who I'm

33:43

from Massachusetts. So my family obviously loved him and

33:45

they just talked about New England sports and

33:47

all was well, but they knew the second they saw

33:50

the guy ended up with Roberto that they could tell

33:52

just seeing me who I was into. Yeah, I really

33:54

related to Hannah's experience with

33:57

the parents liking one person, like

33:59

Hannah's family. and his parents like Tyler, and they really

34:01

were harder on Jed. Like

34:04

it's no secret when Brian came home to meet

34:06

my family, my family was very

34:09

hard on him, and they were much more

34:11

receptive to Peter. And

34:13

for me, you know, I

34:16

didn't have the struggle that Hannah had, but

34:18

I totally understand it. Maybe at 24 I

34:20

would have, but at the time I was 32 and

34:23

I was just like, I know him way

34:25

better than you do, and you're only knowing

34:27

maybe what you're reading, or maybe, you know,

34:29

just a first impression isn't good. But I

34:33

totally understood what Hannah was

34:35

going through. It was actually my dad who

34:37

liked Brian, who you never saw

34:39

on camera, that was like the big mystery. My dad met all

34:41

the guys off camera, my dad really liked Brian,

34:44

and he was the one with Peter who was like,

34:47

something's not right, the ends don't match up. That's

34:49

what he kept saying to me. He was like, something's off,

34:51

something's not right. And I was like, actually,

34:54

that's something that I've been feeling blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever.

34:56

I totally understand your parents, your

34:59

parents having a huge influence when it comes to

35:01

the decision that you're making, when you're at that

35:03

point. Because you get this, you're in this bubble,

35:06

and then all of a sudden you get to meet people who are outside

35:08

of it, and you're like, okay, they're gonna keep it real, they're

35:11

gonna tell me the truth, they're not inside of this, I

35:13

am so itching to hear what

35:15

they have to say. And so Hannah

35:18

was sitting there like, okay, they're

35:20

gonna like both. She knew that they weren't gonna

35:22

like Jed. And that's my beef. We gotta talk about Jed though,

35:24

and what's going on with him. she didn't

35:26

do Jed any favors. She set it up for

35:29

them not to like him.

35:37

I mean, let's talk about that a little bit. First of all,

35:39

with Jed, because we have to talk about Jed, because

35:41

obviously what happened last night.

35:44

I always thought it was Jed from the

35:47

get go. Even when the spoilers out there said

35:49

it wasn't, it said it was Tyler, like from the

35:51

very first episode. Did you really? Yeah.

35:54

Tell me why. Well, I think right from the beginning, I think

35:56

my very first blog, if not second, maybe my first one,

35:58

I said, nope, it's going to be Jed in the episode.

35:59

She just,

36:01

it was just the way she looked at him.

36:03

The way she was like so giddy around him, looked

36:05

at him. I gotta go back and read exactly what I said because

36:08

I know there were certain things I picked up on. And

36:10

then she has even said throughout the

36:12

process, she has said, you know,

36:14

from the very get go, you know, I, you

36:16

know, Jed has, I've cared about Jed. Jed

36:18

has been a front runner. I don't know if she used those exact

36:20

words, but in every time she

36:22

said that, like, I knew it wasn't going to be Tyler as soon

36:25

as basically at the beginning of last night's episode

36:27

because she

36:29

kept saying how slow they were to progress

36:31

and how it was Jed from the beginning. And I think you do

36:34

really know. I can't remember, did Brian get your first impression

36:36

rose? Yes. Yeah. I mean, you know,

36:38

at least if your top

36:41

two, top three, they're the

36:43

first night, I dare to say. Did

36:45

you not? I didn't know who

36:48

my top

36:48

people were. I definitely knew Brian

36:51

was because I gave him a first impression rose, but I didn't have

36:53

like my top four people filled

36:55

out. Like I was kind of guessing. But I

36:57

really didn't know until the first week. It

37:00

ended up who I gave the first date to and then

37:02

first impression were top two. But at the time I really

37:04

didn't know that. But I just, I

37:06

really thought it was Tyler until

37:08

the very last day. And I truly believe for

37:11

Jed, it was a fairy tale. You know, he

37:14

sings and you guys can't see me, but I'm using air

37:16

quotes. He plays the guitar.

37:18

He writes songs. He wrote a song for her.

37:20

They recorded a song together. He came to her

37:23

balcony in the middle of the night and he played music

37:25

for her, which was a very generic song. It

37:27

could have been about anybody. I'll

37:30

just say that. But then he, you know, and then in the

37:32

proposal, he writes a song for her. Oh,

37:34

I can sing it better than I can

37:36

tell you. You know, so I'm gonna sing you

37:38

a song. I just think it was very romantic

37:42

and Tyler was just easy.

37:45

He was too good to be true. Well,

37:47

in the end, Jed won and I'm also

37:49

using air quotes. He used that

37:51

term or like he went around telling

37:53

his friends he won. I didn't fault him

37:55

for that actually. That's a very common thing people

37:58

say. People say that.

37:59

I've tried to set that too sometimes. It comes

38:02

along with Journey and You Remind Me of Home

38:04

and You're My Person and all these other terms

38:07

that people use. What, you know, I

38:09

won. It doesn't mean that you're thinking of this person

38:12

as a prize. That didn't bother

38:14

me, he said it. It looks bad

38:16

now. Yeah, it looks bad now. But I guess

38:18

it is how he said it. Was he like, oh

38:20

yeah, I won,

38:22

whatever, with his boys? Or was like, oh

38:24

my gosh, yeah, I won. I'm with Hannah now, it's great.

38:27

There are ways. But I got Hannah,

38:29

I don't like it either, but that wasn't like

38:31

a deal breaker for me. All right, so let's talk about

38:33

when Jed and Hannah sat down and

38:35

talked about the girlfriend. Yeah. I

38:38

mean, his excuse, oh, I just,

38:40

yeah, her family had bought us this vacation

38:43

and we went and had this vacation together and yeah, I told

38:45

her I loved her, but I mean, it

38:47

was so bad. You had days to prepare

38:50

what you were going to say and this is a woman that you love.

38:53

I think I wanted more from him and maybe

38:55

he's just a laid back and chill guy, but at this

38:57

point, you are fighting for your

39:00

relationship and it's not just boyfriend and

39:02

girlfriend, this is your fiance. This is somebody

39:04

for months you've been planning how you're gonna

39:06

spend the rest of your life and your future together. And

39:08

I just didn't feel like he was fighting

39:11

enough for her and for what they had.

39:13

A hundred, I could not agree with you more,

39:15

Rachel. It's like there was nothing there

39:17

and

39:17

I know he doesn't have this huge personality.

39:20

I mean, he has no offense to him, but

39:22

he's been a bit of a dud

39:23

until that guitar comes out, honestly. Yeah.

39:27

He just doesn't know how to express himself, right? I agree.

39:29

But you're right, this is the woman you love, that you were

39:31

engaged to and you messed up. I can

39:33

forgive him, honestly, for all that. It's messed up

39:36

what he did, don't get me wrong. But

39:38

if he was on his knees in tears, I

39:41

love you. Yes,

39:43

I was with this other girl. I did

39:45

tell her I loved her. I didn't know what love was

39:47

until I met you. I am so sorry.

39:50

And just to see any emotion come out of him, it

39:53

just sounded

39:53

like he was making excuses for himself. A hundred

39:55

percent. I'm gonna say face. Did,

39:58

were you okay with what he did? Like if you were in that.

39:59

that situation, because that's what I kept thinking. That easily

40:02

could have happened to us because we're both former bachelorettes.

40:04

If you had been Hannah and you had been sitting there and

40:07

that is the person that walked in and that is

40:09

what he said to you, would you have taken him back? Yeah,

40:12

if I felt it was love. I'm really excited

40:14

because we're gonna find out exactly

40:16

what Hannah was feeling when

40:18

she first found out the news. And that is because one

40:20

of Hannah's best friends who was actually with,

40:22

well actually not with her, she was the first person she talked

40:25

to when the news broke is here.

40:27

That's right, Demi is here with us right now and we cannot

40:29

wait to hear what she has to say. Oh

40:32

my gosh, Demi, welcome. Welcome to Happy Hour.

40:34

Cheers. Hi, Demi. We're so excited

40:36

to have you on the podcast. First of all, I've been waiting

40:39

to meet you for a very long time. Same.

40:41

I have. I've been waiting. I didn't know each other.

40:44

No, we're both from Dallas and we've never met. I've been dreaming

40:46

of meeting Rachel.

40:47

Listen, I'm done. It's a big deal for me. She's my favorite.

40:49

Yay. Love it. No, I

40:52

love Rachel so much. I'm very excited to

40:54

be here with you. Well, we are so happy you are

40:56

here because there's so much to talk about. Okay, first, before

40:58

we get into everything that happened

41:01

with Jed, let's talk about the

41:02

three guys, right? From the, at the end of the season. What

41:04

were your thoughts on that? I mean, being Hannah's best friend, were you

41:07

like, did you know when you met all the guys, like those are going to

41:09

be her top three? Tyler, the second

41:11

that I saw him announce for the cast, I was like,

41:13

he is so hot. And I was like,

41:15

he is, he's going to kill it this season.

41:18

And I told her at one point, I was like, save him

41:20

for me. And obviously

41:22

she did it. And then she told me a lot

41:24

about like, you know,

41:26

all of the guys that were in her final three and

41:28

how much she liked all of them. And it was really

41:30

hard for her to make a decision. Yes, and I'd

41:32

actually like to take it back from the beginning because I'll

41:34

be honest, like I always am, I've never liked

41:36

Jed. From the moment that he told her that he

41:39

was there initially for his music

41:41

career, that was always a huge red flag

41:43

for me. And so you're a very outspoken person.

41:45

So from the beginning, when he

41:47

said that to her and he dropped that bomb to her, what was

41:49

your impression of Jed?

41:52

You know, I would have taken what he said and

41:54

I would have valued it more if he wouldn't have

41:56

sang a song every week in

41:58

the beginning. It was just... constantly about

42:00

his music and

42:02

That's kind of where I was done with Jed

42:04

at that point I'm with you on that like I

42:07

didn't actually mind that he told her I liked that he told

42:09

her I thought It was genuine because but

42:11

Rachel did you I guess let me ask both of you

42:13

when you went on the show as a contestant Not for

42:15

each was the bachelorette. Did you go on to find

42:17

love?

42:18

My answer is no I want

42:20

to have a good time I went on to drink

42:23

like go to LA sit by a pool

42:25

And then when I was started having feelings

42:28

for the Bachelor, I was like, oh my gosh This

42:30

can work what bothers me with Jed

42:32

is that

42:33

you have to look at the underlying theme

42:36

of his reasoning for coming on the show He

42:38

is deceitful. He came on the

42:40

show to deceive her

42:42

Period point blank period there hadn't

42:45

been that much time that had passed when he talks

42:47

about his love of music and all of a sudden It's been

42:49

seven or eight days and now you're feeling hand all of

42:51

a sudden I have a problem with that when

42:53

I think of his motive for coming on the show How

42:55

far was he willing to take that? What if he didn't

42:58

turn turn his feelings around and start liking

43:00

her a certain way? That is what I have such

43:02

a deep-rooted issue with

43:04

And the fact that his family was asking

43:06

or talking about his music career and like

43:09

asking how's it gonna work with his music career? It

43:11

all seems to be revolving around the

43:13

career that he wanted to get out of this Yeah,

43:16

and I agree before the show, but then I

43:18

think he came on the show and was like, oh my gosh

43:20

I'm falling for this girl. Like I do think his feelings

43:22

are real. Okay, but then don't you think at

43:24

that point? And this is my other thing. Okay, you've

43:27

it's out there now, right? You've put it out

43:29

there You came on here for music now. You're about her.

43:32

I want to never see the guitar again, right?

43:34

Don't play another song don't show

43:36

us you're a songwriter. Don't play

43:38

a song in the finale. I think his quote was

43:41

You know, I'm not good with my words. So here's

43:44

a song. That's all he

43:46

is I

43:51

think he could use a little help in the personality

43:53

department Like

43:56

one instance where he made a big like

43:58

notion with her like something really exciting and

44:00

fun that wasn't about his music. Every time

44:03

it was a song. Every time it was about his music.

44:06

Even like, you know, in the beginning he was doing his music

44:08

a lot, then he takes her to hometowns, he

44:10

does more music stuff. But that's his life at hometowns. That's

44:12

what he does, he's showing her in his world. Like

44:14

this- I know, but after he confesses- Then they wrote

44:17

a song together. And obviously Hannah's not a singer, she's

44:19

not into that. That's why I was gonna try to put that song on iTunes.

44:21

I hope he does, I think he should. I think

44:23

that if we hadn't heard him sing

44:26

until he got to hometowns, it would have been a little

44:28

bit different. But when I saw her at a stage,

44:29

he was singing out on her balcony. And

44:32

I mean, let's just call a spade a spade.

44:35

He's not that good. I'm

44:38

sorry, I'm just gonna say it. He's really

44:40

not that good. Maybe if he

44:43

was out here singing like somebody else

44:45

and sweeping me off my feet, I would think something different.

44:47

But it wasn't that good and I got tired

44:50

of it. Yeah, I mean, I'm like, I gave him the

44:52

benefit of the doubt the entire

44:54

season, but I definitely at the end- Take a sip. Yeah.

44:57

I needed a sip. Definitely at the end,

44:59

I mean, my feelings for him completely changed, especially let's talk

45:01

about the girlfriend thing, the conversation they had. Because

45:04

when that news broke, I'm

45:05

always writing about the show because I write it on

45:07

my blog. When that news broke, I was like, I'm

45:09

going to give him the benefit of the doubt because it's a one-sided

45:11

story. I wanna hear his side before I make a

45:14

decision. We kind of heard his, we

45:16

did hear his side on the show. So

45:18

tell us, Debbie, when Hannah first

45:20

found out and she had that first phone call,

45:22

called you,

45:23

what was she thinking? What was on her mind? It

45:27

was really, essentially

45:29

it was about the fact that he had ruined

45:31

her experience for her because she

45:33

was one of the most serious contestants

45:36

on The Bachelor. She was very serious about getting

45:38

married. She became The Bachelorette and I knew

45:40

that she'd be perfect for it because she actually wants

45:42

to be married. She believes in this

45:45

and she's ready for it. And

45:47

so she just felt like her experience got ruined.

45:50

And a lot of it too was like, she

45:52

thought Tyler was gonna be a huge player

45:54

because he's so hot and that's kind of what we all

45:56

expect from him. And then she,

45:59

finds out that

46:01

she was with the biggest player of them all, someone

46:03

who had a girlfriend. That must have been so

46:05

hard for her. Like, how was she handling it? Was she in

46:08

tears? Was she angry?

46:10

I mean, all the emotions. Like, of course

46:12

she's angry. Of course she's sad. She

46:15

feels let down, you know? I don't

46:17

wanna like speak for her, but I know

46:19

she's going through a lot of emotions about all of

46:22

it. I just feel bad because I

46:24

knew that she was the one person who deserved like

46:26

out of our season, she truly deserved

46:29

to have the

46:30

best results from being the bachelorette

46:32

because she was actually there for the

46:34

right reasons. I was there to have fun. She

46:36

was there to find a husband. Well,

46:38

when she found out, did she

46:40

believe it initially?

46:43

She found out the day the

46:46

People article was released. Did she believe

46:48

that article? Or was she like, okay, you know,

46:50

like, I'm in the public eye, here come

46:52

the people out of the woodworks from the past trying

46:54

to have their moment? No, she believed it.

46:56

Why?

46:57

She believed it because of all the

47:00

evidence that came with it. And so she

47:02

felt very deceived. She felt like,

47:04

you know, he told me some of it, but he didn't tell

47:06

me the extent of it. And he didn't tell

47:09

me about the other girl. He told me about the one

47:11

girl that he had been with. Wait, there was another one?

47:13

Wasn't there? Apparently he had

47:15

this relationship with this one girl,

47:18

maybe not official relationship, I don't even know what.

47:20

And then he was like cheating on her with

47:23

another girl. Oh my God. So like,

47:25

it just kept being more and more and more. Here's

47:27

my question. I asked you if Hannah

47:30

believed the People article when it came out. At

47:32

that point, had she made a decision on the future of

47:34

their relationship?

47:34

Like

47:37

right whenever she saw the article? Mm-hmm. I

47:40

think that,

47:41

you know, the thing about Hannah is that she

47:43

got so empowered with,

47:46

like on The Bachelor. Like she started off very,

47:49

very, you know, shy and

47:51

kind of quiet and unsure about herself. And

47:53

she found herself on The Bachelor and she became

47:55

this amazing, strong woman. She

47:57

became the bachelorette. That fueled her.

48:00

She became so much stronger, like a

48:02

rock star. She knew what she wanted. She wasn't

48:05

afraid to confront people about what she

48:07

wanted. And she wasn't gonna

48:09

put up with any shit.

48:10

So whenever she read that people article,

48:13

and she

48:15

had all of this evidence laid out in front of her

48:17

about what had happened, at that point,

48:20

she said, like, you know, I

48:22

imagine she would think,

48:23

I could give in and try

48:25

to make this work, or I could stay true to

48:28

who I found out that I am,

48:30

and I can be a rock star,

48:31

and I can feel good about myself

48:34

knowing that I'm walking away from something

48:36

that is false. Like, there's already lies

48:39

here. I'm not gonna tolerate that, you know? Like, there's

48:42

dishonesty, like, this isn't what I want,

48:44

and I'm not gonna settle for it, even if

48:47

I want to have that romantic ending,

48:49

and I wanna have that happy ending,

48:52

I'm not gonna settle for that, and I'm gonna continue to

48:54

be this new, strong woman that I am, and

48:56

fully embrace that. Demi, thank you so much for

48:58

joining us on our show. We are so happy

49:01

to have you. Of course, I loved being

49:03

here. Y'all are amazing. All right, Rachael, now we

49:05

gotta get to the heavy stuff. What did you think about

49:07

Jed tonight? I thought that Jed did

49:09

the best that he could do,

49:11

right? Which really wasn't much. All

49:14

he could do at this point

49:15

was apologize. I mean, that's the only

49:17

card he had to play, and he apologized

49:20

to everybody, apologized to Hannah,

49:22

her family, Bachelor Nation, his

49:24

family. I mean, you really

49:27

kinda feel sorry for him. I mean, granted,

49:30

this is his fault. This is his own doing. He's

49:32

digging his own grave, but

49:34

I mean, he did the best that he could do. Apologize

49:37

and move on. Surely he didn't think he was gonna get

49:39

Hannah back. Yeah, and I

49:41

honestly, I mean, he did the best he

49:44

could do, because, I mean,

49:46

Jed has not had much emotion

49:48

or personality. I mean, I feel mean

49:51

saying that. The entire season,

49:53

he's shown almost no emotion. Ali, be mean. No,

49:56

I can't be mean. It's okay, I just, it's okay.

49:58

Be mean.

49:59

I like it think I don't know it's

50:02

weird when you become a parent Rachel when you and Brian

50:04

start cranking up those babies You're gonna understand,

50:06

but I Just

50:09

feel like we saw nothing from him there

50:11

wasn't a single tear he kept saying yes I'm still

50:13

in love with you, but she's basically saying it's over

50:15

I'm done and nothing not

50:17

a tear not like a quiver

50:20

of the lip like nothing. I just

50:22

don't

50:23

Buy that like I feel like he

50:26

did what he needed to do But I

50:28

think at this point like Jed

50:31

doesn't love her in my opinion. I don't think

50:33

that he does anymore I think he's so probably

50:35

deep down very angry that he got caught

50:38

I believe that yeah, so I

50:40

think it was a little bit of a show to be honest

50:43

I mean put on a little show, but he

50:45

did say what he needed to say And

50:48

I appreciate that he just took complete ownership like

50:51

you said and apologize to the families Because

50:53

that's a huge part of this, but one

50:55

thing you know

50:57

That I have to say is Hannah

51:00

was Incredible tonight.

51:02

I mean we've talked about this Rachel

51:05

the progression of Hannah throughout the season and

51:07

I have never seen her so poised and

51:10

articulate and Just

51:12

the grace that she showed Jed

51:15

like one of the things that I told you really upset me about

51:17

her And in general like I've

51:19

talked about publicly and been critical about

51:21

her about the season is that I felt

51:23

like a lot of Time she made the show about her.

51:26

I mean the show is

51:27

Her season, but she didn't she made the relationships

51:30

about her rather than making about her and

51:32

the men or her and the man she was with Whereas

51:36

tonight we saw her have so much grace

51:38

for Jed like she kept saying I feel

51:40

for you I don't want you to hurt like that's

51:43

a completely different side of Hannah And we

51:45

have seen her turn into like

51:47

this incredible woman, which I was just so happy

51:49

to see Yeah, I really like

51:52

the way that she said she was hurting, but she knows

51:54

that he's hurting too Yeah, and she has her

51:56

own critics as

51:57

does he but I like that

51:59

she

51:59

She was very matter of fact. And you could tell that

52:02

she's cried her last cry. And

52:04

she has moved on. She has grown. And

52:07

like she said, she has learned from this experience

52:10

that although it didn't work out the way that

52:12

she wanted to, she's learned something about herself.

52:15

And she is way more aware. And I think

52:17

we could all turn back and look at that one relationship

52:20

where maybe we were going through it blindly,

52:23

but when it ended, it was as if the

52:25

lights came on. And we learned

52:27

so much about ourselves and we knew what we wanted

52:30

out of the next relationship. And Hannah's going

52:32

to be so much better for the next man

52:35

because of the heartache that she went through with Jed.

52:37

Yeah, it was so hard to watch. When

52:41

he first came out, just seeing her

52:43

fighting back the tears, there

52:46

are a lot of moments in the

52:48

bachelor world, I will say, seem forced

52:50

to me. Like for instance, whenever somebody on

52:52

the show says, I love you for the first time, I'm

52:55

always like, oh, like it just doesn't

52:57

seem genuine. It's like they feel like they have to say

52:59

it. It's all weird and awkward. But man,

53:01

what we saw from her and like not

53:04

him, but her was just real, raw,

53:07

genuine emotion. Can we give a

53:09

shout out to the ruthless audience

53:11

at AFR? I mean, the three

53:13

claps that Jed got

53:16

when he walked out on stage, it was, I

53:18

mean,

53:18

I laughed out loud. I

53:20

mean, nobody was clapping for Jed. Nobody

53:23

was supporting Hannah on Hannah's

53:25

side.

53:27

They were savage. They were completely savage

53:29

when it came to Jed. Yeah, totally. So,

53:31

part of me. What else were they going to do? You

53:33

know, I mean, I guess you could have given him like a little bit of

53:35

an applause, but like people are upset with him. But

53:38

another thing, speaking of clapping, when

53:40

some people started to clap when she

53:43

was kind of

53:44

putting him in his place, I guess, a little bit. I

53:46

don't know. That's not really the right way I want to say it. But

53:48

I love that she said, no, don't clap.

53:50

This is sad.

53:52

And I just, again, show so much

53:54

maturity on her side. And I've been

53:56

waiting to see that from her all season. And I'm just so

53:58

proud of her. I feel like.

53:59

a proud bachelorette mama, like

54:02

yay Hannah. No, you're right. And

54:04

that was the moment where it's also

54:07

like, it's not just pure entertainment.

54:10

Feelings are involved, people are hurt, emotions

54:13

are running high. People were clapping because

54:15

it was entertaining and she shut them

54:17

down, like this is my life. And

54:19

that is what people won't remember

54:21

and I truly hope that for her tomorrow, when

54:25

she's doing these media rounds, it's gonna be

54:27

tough. And people are going to come

54:29

at her

54:29

so many different ways and aren't gonna have

54:32

the same grace, since

54:34

that seems to be a theme in this finale, that

54:36

Chris Harrison had for her in questioning her. And

54:39

so I really hope that she is able

54:41

to empower herself and

54:44

use that strength that she's found through this season

54:46

as she's going into these interviews because she's

54:49

doing it alone and that's tough.

54:51

Yeah, well she should just come on our podcast

54:54

and we will show her that grace. Yeah girl, come

54:56

on our podcast. I'm gonna get a few drinks too.

54:58

Well Rachel, oh my gosh, the season is over but

55:00

the podcast has just begun.

55:03

55:31

55:33
