Fun Acts: The Martian was created when Andy was brainstorming what a manned Martian mission would be like, and what would happen if it went wrong. He wrote The Martian and posted it for free on his website, and it exploded. He posted it on amazon so people could read a Kindle version, and it turned into the sensation we know it to be today. ( Write that story you've been working on, guys!)
Jade touches on the pacing, the structure, how Andy builds suspense, and how he creates variation in a book that is mainly logs written on a nearly daily basis for over 500 Martian sols.
