Pastor Wes Morris
Mark 4:26-29 (NIV) He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
✓ The Kingdom of God is like a seed.
✓ Growth begins in the soil.
If the situation isn’t changing, God might be using the situation to change me.
✓ The soil is the environment where God does His greatest work.
Psalm 92:12-14 (NIV) The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.
STAY PLANTED
I. STAY FAITHFUL TO GOD’S WORD.
Isaiah 55:9-12 (TLB) For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours.
As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the ground to water the earth, and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace.
II. STAY COMMITTED TO GOD’S HOUSE.
Ephesians 2:20 (NLT) Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
Psalm 122:1 (NLT) I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
III. STAY CLOSE TO GOD’S HEART.
John 15:4 (MSG) Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.
