Relationships are SO IMPORTANT!  They are; they’re a gift from God.  We were made for friendship, made for relationship.  Often in recovery we forget that; we think we’re alone.  We think we’re alone.  We think nobody will understand.  But that’s a lie from the devil.   Jesus came to bring us back into relationship, and the most important relationship is with Jesus.   And from there, you can have relationships with so many people, people from church, people from Instagram, people from school, and even more.   Aren’t friendships such a gift?  I’ve been so grateful to have made many friends through blogging, friends that have pointed me back to Jesus in my struggles, friends that keep me accountable to being balanced in exercise and nutrition, friends that will hang out and just do anything with me, friends that will cry with me, laugh with me, rejoice with me.   It makes me think of the verse from Proverbs 17:17, ‘A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.’

This has been on my heart so much as I try to support and pray for those in recovery.  It’s so tempting to want to suffer alone, but you DON’T have to; you don’t have to be alone.  Friendships will FILL you up; friendships will remind you that it’s not all about you.

Why are relationships so important for recovery?

Well that’s what this episode is all about; we talked about navigating relationships as an introvert, why relationships/getting outside of yourself REALLY help curing a self-focus.

We talked about this and so much more in this podcast; I hope it’s a tremendous soul filling blessing to you!   Jess has a really fun Instagram where she talks about everything from food freedom to friendship to navigating Instagram and school and life and exercise.  She’s one of the most heartfelt beautiful young women I’ve met; she reflects the tender love of Jesus, the mercy of God, the grace of God and His transforming work in her.  This podcast wasn’t about how we are so good at loving; it’s about how God loved us, how God is teaching us to love others because of His tender love as a Father for His redeemed children.

Recovery is MESSY.  It’s dark and hard and difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone.  That’s why we recorded this podcast, to remind you of that truth, to bring the reality of Jesus Christ, the best relationship in the entire world, that is SOOO freely available to anybody who will come!    My prayer is that this would draw you to the love of God in Christ Jesus.

I would say this is the verse that was the heart of the podcast today:

‘Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to bethe propitiation for our sins.’  (1 John 4:10)
