On this episode of the Healthy + Happy Podcast, Dr. Slade and special guest, Valerie Sedgwick, discuss the difficult topic of sexual trauma and the role attachment plays in how the brain tries to manage the trauma going forward.   

Special Guest Info:   Valerie has been passionate about healthy living in all aspects of life, for her entire life. The pursuit of health in body, mind and spirit led her to pursue a career in school teaching, yoga, fitness classes and in massage therapy for over three decades. She is currently pursuing her life mission of helping to heal hearts and homes by assisting people in the very emotional decision of purchasing and selling their homes in beautiful Southern Utah.   Valerie has two amazing sons who are her "wing men". In her words, "we  have each other's backs no matter what."   She was raised in the middle of a gaggle of nine girls, and while she loves and appreciates her sisters, being raised with this much girlness  makes her appreciate her sons even more.   Family and relationships are everything to Valerie. No matter where she is or what she is doing, be it with her sons, friends, sisters, parents, herself or God she is doing her best to foster healthy and happy relationships!
