My guest today is Jordan Roche

1:02

. Jordan is a podcaster

1:04

and Christian life coach . He started

1:06

with health coaching , but was on the

1:08

side of New Age spirituality , searching

1:11

for more and hungry for the humans

1:13

who had followed God and

1:16

further away from him and from their

1:18

actions . We welcome Jordan

1:20

to the podcast . Well

1:22

, it's so good to have you on the show today , Jordan . How are you doing

1:24

?

1:26

I'm doing great . I'm so happy to be here .

1:28

Good to be here . It's good to have a conversation with you .

1:32

Yes , definitely .

1:33

Well , let's get a chance to get to know you a little better , and

1:35

the audience as well . So what's the best

1:38

piece of advice you've ever received ?

1:45

The best piece of advice I've ever received was actually probably this week . Um

1:47

, so it's funny . But I

1:49

was like this is perfect timing

1:51

. But , um , I

1:53

so

1:56

I was just like kind of

1:58

wondering where God wants me to go next

2:00

. And a friend of mine was like

2:02

, well , if you had a year left

2:04

to live , what would you do

2:06

? You know , because for so long I've

2:08

just felt tied to other people and

2:10

, like as a people pleaser , I

2:14

do what other people need

2:16

me to do and kind of fulfill

2:18

a position for

2:20

them , because I feel like they need me

2:23

to be in that position . And I

2:25

was like , but what is God telling

2:27

me to do ? Where does God need me right now

2:29

? And so that was really

2:31

a great piece of advice .

2:33

That is good . I like that . So what'd you come up with

2:35

?

2:36

Yeah , I think

2:38

I'm going to be changing a

2:40

lot of things in the near future . I think

2:42

I'm going to be changing a lot of things in the near future

2:45

. I just was praying about it last night

2:47

and I had this dream

2:49

that kind of confirmed

2:51

it . So I need to talk to some people and see

2:54

if it

2:57

aligns with everything . So big

3:00

changes might be coming soon .

3:01

Exciting stuff there . I

3:05

like that . Yes

3:09

, definitely yeah . When God tells you to do something , he does kind of

3:11

throw off your plans that you had going before he talked

3:13

to you .

3:13

So yeah , yep , he sure does .

3:15

I'm always curious , jordan , who are some people in your

3:17

life who have been maybe an inspiration

3:20

to you , or just someone that's been

3:22

impactful , if someone you want to give , if people want to give a

3:24

shout out to you thank you for their impact

3:26

in your life .

3:31

So definitely like growing up , I would say , my

3:33

grandmother . She was kind of the most

3:35

godly example of a woman , you

3:37

know , and very elegant

3:40

and modest and just so

3:42

kind Like she always brought joy to so

3:44

many people and so she's

3:46

definitely a big part of

3:48

like my journey

3:52

and who I am . But

3:54

more recently , I would say , my

3:56

friend Diane , who actually just gave me that

3:58

advice . Just

4:10

gave me that advice . She is so amazing and has really been a huge part of like my spiritual

4:12

growth and just knowing that there's so much more

4:14

than we even know about

4:16

God and what he , who , he is

4:19

, you know , and there's just so

4:21

many like the church is only so

4:23

much and then there's just like a

4:25

whole nother world you

4:28

know .

4:29

Exactly .

4:31

Yeah .

4:33

That's Nihon , the people who come alongside

4:35

you just the right time in your life to kind of even

4:37

give you words that maybe you weren't expecting

4:39

, but they're so impactful .

4:41

Yes , yeah , definitely

4:44

.

4:45

So tell us about your personal journey . I'm curious

4:48

kind of where you've been and where you're headed

4:50

, and as

4:52

you tell us kind of where you come from yeah .

4:55

Definitely so . I mean

4:58

I grew up in a Christian home but

5:00

it was lukewarm . I mean

5:02

I grew up in a Christian home but it was lukewarm , and

5:07

I really fell away from the church because

5:09

of people in my life and got

5:11

into New Age spirituality

5:14

and had

5:16

a lot of health problems that

5:20

kind of drove me further into that

5:22

. But because of the

5:25

false sense of security there

5:27

, um , I

5:29

really felt like you

5:33

know , helping right , like that's why a lot of people

5:35

stay in it and get into that loop , and

5:39

so I actually had seven herniated discs in

5:41

my back and among

5:43

a lot of other health issues going on

5:50

, and I was

5:53

starting to question authority at that point , because

5:55

I was going to medications and

5:58

listening to the people in my life

6:00

who had authority .

6:02

Sure .

6:04

Like I normally would . Yeah , and

6:06

everything was getting

6:08

worse and

6:17

I was like wait a minute . So

6:24

then I started questioning , like obviously , doctors and medications and and solutions

6:26

with all of that . But then it kind of continued and continued and

6:29

luckily , you know , I started questioning the

6:33

people who said they were Christian in my life .

6:35

Sure .

6:36

Because , like they

6:39

would say

6:41

one thing and be kind of hypocritical

6:44

and not live what they're

6:46

telling me to do , and so you

6:48

know that led to the rebellion . Right

6:50

and yeah , which

6:53

I think a lot of people experience

6:56

, which is unfortunate . But

7:00

but , yeah , so with the coaching

7:02

. Um , but , but yeah , so with the coaching . I was in

7:04

the health coaching on

7:08

the new age side of things with like yoga

7:10

and meditation , and

7:12

you know now I'm

7:15

still in the nutrition and all of

7:17

that , but I really focus on prayer

7:19

and the power of that

7:21

and and the and the

7:24

deepness and power

7:27

that God has . That , like

7:29

I said , isn't really talked about as

7:32

much in church .

7:42

Right as you think about that journey you were on and you said you know people

7:44

who were Christian . They weren't living the't living the lifestyle that they

7:46

were , they were professing . How

7:49

did , what , did God teach you as you were going through those , those , maybe that personal faith struggle

7:51

? I would call it wrestling , to kind of say what's true and what's not . How do you

7:53

, how'd you unpack and get back to

7:56

what really was true ?

8:00

So I , actually I , I

8:02

, I was like seeking him . I

8:04

cause I always kind of felt like I

8:06

was . I think I had a relationship with him

8:09

, even though it was the demons in my life

8:11

at the time , and

8:14

I just knew

8:16

that because I had been raised in the church

8:18

, like I knew that God existed and I knew

8:20

that he loved me and I wanted

8:22

that relationship . I sought that relationship

8:25

but I

8:28

wasn't doing it right and I

8:30

started to read my Bible and

8:34

the first time that I tried reading

8:36

my Bible I got to

8:38

in Genesis , God

8:40

created every green herb and I was

8:42

like cool , he's okay with

8:44

me smoking weed and

8:49

so , and I

8:51

kind of went back into the world . But

8:57

then he pulled me back

9:00

and I actually

9:02

was

9:05

listening to a podcast called

9:07

Heaven and Healing that

9:10

just exposed so

9:13

much deception and

9:15

I related so much to everything

9:17

she was saying , was

9:29

saying , and I was just like I'm mind blown and started reading my Bible

9:31

and I was actually on a road trip where I really do feel

9:33

like Satan was going

9:37

to kill me , Like I was rebellious

9:39

and I said

9:42

every red flag , I was like I can do

9:44

it , it's fine . It was like so much pride I

9:48

. I did not have the

9:50

finances but I was like , oh , manifestation

9:53

, it'll come when I need it , you know

9:55

. And

9:57

and then my car

10:00

was an older car , had not gotten

10:02

new tires or brakes in a long time

10:04

and

10:07

the road

10:10

trip that I was taking like wasn't planned . I

10:12

didn't really have any places

10:17

, I was staying fully booked or anything

10:19

fully

10:25

booked or anything . And um , even along the trip , my GPS was saying , like where

10:27

I was headed into the desert , said

10:30

heat , heat , yeah , yeah , Said

10:34

said

10:36

heat advisory , and like

10:38

people were dropping dead , Like . So

10:43

it was not a good

10:45

environment that I was going towards and

10:51

I thankfully

10:54

end up at

10:56

a church with my mom's friend in Texas

10:59

, literally

11:01

in the center of the United States . I

11:04

was 17 hours from

11:06

where I was and 17 hours from where

11:08

I was going , and

11:12

I was

11:14

at this service and they kind of

11:16

were talking about , you know

11:18

, like so many things that related

11:21

to what was going on , and

11:24

but also like a leap of

11:26

faith , and I was like is my leap of faith that

11:28

I need to keep going , you

11:45

know ? And so it was like so much deception I can't but um , but then I actually did continue

11:48

into San Antonio , where that's where God was like , and

11:57

so I was going to be going to this park to go eat my lunch that

11:59

I had prepped for myself . And I pull up and my GPS

12:01

tells me to turn into this church parking lot .

12:04

That's weird yeah .

12:08

Well , because the park was like the next turn

12:10

, okay , but uh . But

12:13

so it like told me to turn . Then I was like , is

12:15

there a connection ? Like is the park connected to

12:17

the church ? How does this ? And so

12:19

I turned out of the parking lot

12:22

and back in to where

12:24

I was going to be going . But it looked really

12:26

sketchy . There was no one there , it was like this

12:28

dirt road and

12:30

I was like I'm going to go eat

12:32

in the church parking lot instead

12:35

. And

12:37

and there was this like prayer garden

12:39

there . And

12:42

at first I was kind of parked a little

12:44

bit below where it was up on a

12:46

hill , and

12:48

I just hear come walk with me in the

12:50

garden , my child and I was

12:52

like , okay , but

12:55

let me finish this podcast first . And

13:00

I heard it again and I was like

13:02

okay . And

13:08

so I grabbed my Bible

13:10

and my journal and

13:13

I left my phone . I just was like okay

13:16

. I walked up into the garden and

13:19

the walkway on the garden

13:21

, which I couldn't see before , was

13:23

a cross , and so

13:25

I was standing on the cross , yeah , and

13:29

I just felt this overwhelming peace

13:32

and presence and

13:35

I was like , okay

13:37

, what do I do now ? You know ? Like

13:40

, why am I here ? What do you need to tell me ? And

13:43

so I went

13:45

, there was this swing . I sat down next

13:48

to this chair , so it was like I was

13:50

sitting with him and I

13:54

didn't know much about the Bible . I

13:56

didn't know where

13:58

I should read and I just

14:00

was like God , wherever

14:14

these pages turn , I'm going to read . And so the wind blew and opened up

14:16

and it was in , I believe , first K . It was in first Kings

14:18

and um Jeremiaheremiah , but the , the area that

14:20

I was reading was about elijah

14:23

fleeing to cities of

14:25

refuge okay yeah

14:29

, and then um

14:31

, and

14:34

then I literally read turn back from where you came

14:36

wow

14:38

and yeah

14:41

, and I was like , but

14:45

I have this thing that I need to go to , that

14:47

I've already committed to , like

14:50

I'm still in my mind , like in the world

14:52

, so much and

14:54

um . So

14:57

I was like I actually stayed

14:59

in a parking lot that night of

15:01

a gas

15:05

station and then I reread the

15:07

verses that morning and

15:10

I was like I

15:13

need to turn around , you know , and

15:15

I ended up having

15:19

my tire blow out on

15:21

the way home .

15:22

Oh no .

15:24

And I would have been in the middle of the desert

15:26

during a heat advisory .

15:29

Not a good place to be .

15:31

No , no . So

15:35

he saved me literally

15:37

from dying in the desert , but

15:39

also just my soul and

15:42

like , that podcast I

15:44

was listening to the whole time was just

15:46

like so eye opening

15:49

and just

15:51

my dad even said when I got

15:53

back it was like a 180 . I was a totally different

15:55

person .

15:57

That's an incredible story of how God

15:59

intervened in that moment in your life . As

16:02

you think about the journey you were on

16:05

, I think so many people who have

16:07

drifted away from the church find

16:09

themselves on a different path . What

16:12

would you say kind of , besides the fact that

16:14

you were getting bad advice from people who were Christians

16:16

, are there other things that were kind

16:18

of also leading you

16:20

away from the church and

16:22

from God at that point in time in your life ?

16:27

Definitely like the people who were , you

16:29

know , do as I say , not as I do , and

16:32

like not living as an example

16:34

, but I think also

16:36

just society

16:38

as a whole like was

16:41

promoting all of these things that are

16:43

demonic and

16:45

not of God . And

16:48

so , you know , as a young woman

16:50

, you just want to fit in , and

16:53

especially with social media now

16:55

it's like , oh , it's trendy to be a witch

16:57

or it's trendy to do

16:59

your horoscopes and all this stuff , and like

17:02

it's just , it's so like

17:05

backwards , you

17:08

know . And

17:11

so I think a lot of just

17:13

the guidance in my life at that time

17:15

, like my friends who

17:17

were

17:20

, I felt , more

17:22

mature or like knew more , were

17:25

doing all those things , and I was like , oh well

17:27

, like their lives seem pretty good , like

17:29

let's check this out , you know . And

17:34

so it's just like a snowball effect

17:36

of deception .

17:40

If you could , if the church could have done

17:42

something to be more helpful for you . What would that have

17:44

been ?

17:47

I think , definitely speaking more of

17:49

the truth and

17:52

I was just talking about this with a friend the other

17:54

day but like the

17:56

truth about the

17:58

deception , instead of like having more people

18:01

into the church . Obviously we want that

18:03

, but we need

18:05

to speak the truth versus just , oh

18:07

, Jesus loves you no matter what you do

18:10

. You know and

18:14

he does like , but we got to tell him

18:16

like , repent and turn

18:18

from your sins , versus continue living

18:21

in them .

18:23

But I think the church sometimes worries that that

18:25

message you just said will turn people

18:27

off and you're saying , no

18:30

, that's what you need to hear more of , not

18:32

the watered down . Hey , do

18:34

the easy thing . It's okay to live your life

18:36

, enjoy life , it'll

18:39

be okay , right .

18:41

Exactly , yeah , and I think for me

18:43

, like where I was I , I

18:46

would have definitely felt convicted , and I think

18:48

that's why people wouldn't immediately

18:51

be like , oh , this isn't accepting , you're judging

18:53

me . But I think there's a balance

18:55

between judging

18:58

someone for those sins and being

19:00

like I was in your position

19:02

. I've been there . This

19:05

is why , like this , I

19:07

want you to feel what I feel and get off

19:09

the drugs and get off the alcohol

19:11

and the sex and whatever it is

19:13

you know , and and just like

19:15

the truth in love . And I

19:17

think that a lot of people are

19:20

so focused on judging

19:23

and shamefully

19:27

saying the truth rather

19:30

than that truth

19:32

in love , and there's definitely

19:34

a balance there .

19:36

I love that as you think about kind of

19:38

your generation . You know the church has a perception

19:41

of young people . What would

19:44

you say the biggest misconception the church

19:46

has about your generation ?

19:50

Honestly , I feel like the biggest misconception

19:52

would be the fact that they are

19:54

not

19:56

seeking God , because I think they

19:58

are so much and

20:01

that's why they're getting into all of these

20:03

things . Because , you

20:06

know , in new age spirituality

20:08

and at ,

21:03

for me , music festivals

21:06

and and all of these things , like I

21:08

felt so seen

21:11

and loved and and more so

21:13

than I had at the church , like because

21:15

it felt more judged at the church and

21:18

it's just a bunch of broken

21:20

people trying to

21:23

show each other love and compassion

21:25

that weren't shown by the church

21:27

and their families , and

21:29

like it's so sad

21:32

. And now at the church that

21:34

I'm at , they actually

21:36

are transparent . The

21:38

elders that I know now

21:41

tell

21:43

me about their addictions and

21:45

about their past and

21:47

are free and living in that

21:49

freedom versus , you

21:52

know , a generation that is

21:54

just like still feeling their

21:56

own shame and then judging you for

21:58

doing the same thing .

22:05

Like so . So having the so

22:07

, not being transparent about the fact that you also

22:09

had struggles as a young person , you

22:11

, you felt like having a connection

22:14

with real people , with real

22:16

lives , with real problems , is

22:18

the most helpful thing the church could do . Not hide

22:21

and mask their problems , but

22:23

say , yeah , I get what you're going

22:25

through , Even though you may not directly

22:28

understand , because we didn't have I mean , I'm almost

22:30

60 . We didn't have social media

22:33

, as you guys did , where every

22:35

single mistake we've ever made is

22:37

amplified and

22:39

around the world in a matter of minutes . It

22:41

took a lot longer for your mistakes to get out there

22:43

.

22:46

So true , and I think that's like such

22:48

a huge part of it too , because it's

22:50

like , ok , you're forgiven and

22:53

you're , you no longer need to carry

22:55

that shame , but but you

22:57

posted it and or , like , someone else has

22:59

this picture of you or this video

23:01

of you . So , yeah

23:03

, it's definitely more difficult with that

23:05

.

23:06

I love that . So tell us about

23:09

the church right now , cause I'm curious . You say you love the

23:11

church right now because it it is . Are

23:13

there other aspects about your church that

23:16

if you could tell the church

23:18

? This is a model of why I like this

23:20

church . It may be helpful for those who are listening

23:22

at

23:36

any church .

23:36

The moment I walked in and like they , the greeters are so amazing , and I actually was late the first

23:39

time and I like went by myself to the pew and

23:41

a woman from the greeters team saw

23:44

me and you know they really focus on

23:47

if we haven't seen this person before , we need to

23:49

talk to them and

23:51

keep them here , basically . And

23:53

so she like came up and was

23:55

like is this your first time here ? And I was like yeah

23:57

, and she was like welcome

24:00

, I'm so happy you're here . And like give me a hug

24:02

. She gave me like a little welcome

24:04

bag and , um

24:06

, that same day the

24:09

pastor was preaching about deception

24:12

and the truth and things that I literally was like

24:14

Whoa , like um

24:16

, the the book . The

24:19

book called conversations with God . He

24:24

was talking about that and I had recently like

24:26

read that and

24:29

thought , you know , oh , this is like cool

24:31

, like great , god loves us . We can do whatever

24:33

we want . And

24:38

so it was just like perfect

24:40

timing and like so

24:42

filled with the Holy Spirit , like the presence

24:44

of the Lord was just in that room and

24:47

the music , like the worship too

24:49

, was so powerful . Like

24:51

the moment I walked in , people were

24:53

like worshiping God

24:56

and like really into

24:59

it and you just feel that

25:01

. And so

25:03

I think worship is a huge part

25:05

of praise

25:07

, and especially in

25:10

a world where the enemy has

25:12

taken over the music industry

25:14

really and we're worshiping

25:17

false idols . So why can't we worship

25:19

God in the same way that we worship them

25:21

?

25:23

Exactly true , I wonder

25:25

. You know we often talk about how important

25:28

music style

25:30

is . Is it the style or

25:32

is it the fact that people were

25:34

letting their love

25:36

for God show through in the worship ? I'm always curious

25:38

. Is it a both

25:40

and or is it a particular style

25:43

? To me , no matter what style you're

25:45

doing , if people know

25:47

that you are celebrating and worshiping

25:50

God , whether it's traditional hymns

25:52

or praise music , it's more about . I

26:01

can sense the people there really want to be there versus not seeming as

26:03

though they're happy to be there Is

26:06

that something that you notice as well ?

26:07

Definitely , yeah , and because I like there's now that I've , you

26:09

know , looked because I loved music

26:11

my whole life and so looking now for more

26:14

genres of Christian music is

26:16

so helpful . Because

26:18

I think you know we

26:20

kind of like I for my whole life was like I hate

26:22

rap music and so like vulgar

26:24

even before I was saved , like it

26:27

just was raunchy and I was like . I don't want that

26:29

Like it's , I don't want it . And now

26:31

there's a few like rap , Christian

26:33

rap songs that are glorifying God

26:35

, and I'm like yes , and

26:38

so I think

26:40

like it's just based

26:43

on your personal preference with like the genre

26:45

, but as long as it's glorifying God

26:48

and you can tell that it's

26:50

moving your spirit , like I

26:52

think that's so powerful , and just like you

26:54

said , with the people at the church during

26:56

the service are clearly

26:58

loving on God . You

27:01

know and you can feel it .

27:03

That's awesome . I'm curious

27:05

what are you excited about as you think about

27:08

where you are now compared to

27:10

where you are now before ? What

27:12

are you most excited about in this phase

27:14

of your life ?

27:15

Yeah , Um

27:18

, most excited is honestly , like just

27:21

to see where God takes me . Like I

27:23

said in the beginning , I have

27:26

kind of been avoiding what

27:28

he did want because I was afraid

27:30

of it and

27:33

like because so my whole life I really

27:35

I was , since I was

27:37

a people pleaser I was really scared to

27:39

be vulnerable and say what I actually wanted

27:41

and what was in my heart , and so doing

27:45

that is really

27:47

is kind of scary for me and , I think

27:50

, for a lot of people . So I

27:52

am excited to

27:55

follow that , that

27:57

, what God put in my heart

27:59

, a reason , and

28:01

see where he takes me and just take

28:04

a leap of faith .

28:05

Amazing If

28:08

you had a message for people who were

28:10

where you were before wandering

28:12

, trying to kind

28:14

of connect back with God again . What message

28:17

do you have for those who are still kind of like I

28:19

know God wants something different for me to my life

28:22

is now . What advice would you have

28:24

for them ?

28:27

My advice would probably be just

28:29

seek God first above

28:31

all else . Like , don't

28:34

, because you can surround yourself with Christians

28:36

, you can surround yourself with people who say they know

28:38

God , but that doesn't make you

28:40

know God , and I think a lot

28:42

of people do that and focus

28:44

on oh , I need to be at church every day

28:46

, I need to go serve , I need to go to this small group

28:48

, and those are amazing . But

28:51

you need to know God yourself

28:53

because we all have

28:55

our own individual relationship

28:58

with him and purpose from

29:00

him , and no one else can

29:02

tell you that except for God , and

29:05

and and also just like be

29:07

sober and vigilant , like sober

29:09

minded I . I

29:13

for so long was so

29:15

, not sober , and I

29:18

was lost

29:20

in that time of my life and I

29:23

think it's so important , in

29:26

order to have that relationship with God

29:28

, to

29:30

have a sober mind . Otherwise

29:32

, it's just like wishy-washy in there and

29:35

anxious .

29:36

Most definitely If you could

29:38

describe for the church you were kind of going

29:40

. What kind of community are people

29:43

like yourself looking for ? What are

29:45

a couple of things that are really important

29:47

for that community to have to

29:49

make someone who is coming back

29:51

to church feel welcomed again .

29:55

Yeah , I think again , with the transparency

29:58

, so that you don't feel judged

30:00

or intimidated . But also

30:02

, um , one thing that recently God

30:04

like put in my heart from to to do

30:06

at my church was to

30:09

get young women together , because

30:12

we have a a young adults group

30:14

and we have a youth group . But

30:17

I think it's so important to

30:20

have , like , your gender

30:22

together , without

30:24

the other one , so

30:27

that you can really understand what

30:29

you're all going through , because you

30:31

know , even though you're around

30:33

your peers , if they're different

30:35

genders , you're going to have

30:37

that . You know you're

30:45

going to have

30:47

that . You know . Hold back in your mind to be fully vulnerable

30:49

and

30:54

and I think it's so powerful to have strong relationships with , as women

30:56

, with the other women in your life who are Christian , and talk about those things that

30:58

you can't talk about with guys and and

31:00

on the other side , same thing . There , you know it's

31:02

so important to build that

31:04

, those relationships versus

31:07

just seeking a partner

31:09

, you know Right .

31:12

When you , when you mentioned partner . It's interesting I

31:15

noticed that younger people , especially

31:18

with the things that the world are kind of teaching and

31:20

kind of instilling in them , that

31:23

the whole relationship thing has been kind of thrown upside

31:25

down , for young people Like

31:27

guys are having a hard time finding girls who

31:30

are conservative , who are in

31:32

terms of their beliefs and want

31:34

a spouse and want to connect

31:37

with someone who have a Christian background . Have you noticed

31:39

that's a big problem with your generation

31:42

too , that there just seems to be a real lack

31:44

of how do you find the right kind of spouse

31:46

, the right kind of mate , cause , cause society

31:48

has messed that up so badly .

31:52

Definitely . I struggled with that myself

31:54

and for so many years I was

31:56

like I don't want kids , I don't like

31:58

, I don't need , I don't want to deal with them . You

32:00

know all of this . Now , all I want to do is be married

32:03

and have kids , but , but

32:05

I think so many people in my generation

32:08

also don't want to have kids

32:10

and but

32:12

they do want to have sex . I

32:21

think , yeah , and I think society , especially with social media , has really corrupted the

32:23

order of a relationship and how it should go

32:25

, and you know that

32:29

we replace love

32:31

with lust and

32:34

people don't even know what

32:36

a deep , intimate relationship is . They don't

32:38

actually know what

32:40

love is . And I think

32:42

that's why so many people

32:45

in the younger generation need

32:47

Jesus , because that's

32:51

the only way to fully understand love

32:53

, because he is love , you

32:56

know , and it's

32:59

like for me , because , yeah

33:01

, because for me , I always sought , like love

33:03

and other people and to be

33:06

. I always just wanted to be loved and to

33:08

love someone else and all

33:10

I really needed was Jesus .

33:12

Right , I think you made a really interesting

33:15

point there , I think , because we have gotten

33:17

away from God being what love is

33:19

. Love has now been defined

33:21

by movies , by TV , by

33:23

music , by social media , and

33:25

none of those things are lasting and those things

33:27

are just empty . But if we get back to

33:30

that connection with God being

33:32

the source of love and that love flows

33:34

from him , I think we better

33:36

connect with each other .

33:39

Oh yeah , I , my relationships , like

33:41

even just friendships and everything like

33:43

have gotten so much better and

33:46

deeper since following

33:49

God , because I am

33:51

able to be transparent . I don't

33:54

need to feel shame , I

33:56

can talk about things

33:58

I would never have talked about . You

34:00

know , you know .

34:01

Yeah , this

34:03

has been great . Anything , I haven't asked you that I should

34:06

have asked you .

34:09

Um , I don't think so

34:11

there . Um , one thing that I did want to mention

34:13

again with you know , the sex and and

34:15

and love and

34:17

how we are

34:20

so deceived right now is , towards

34:22

the end of my new

34:25

ageness and getting saved

34:27

. I was so confused

34:30

because of brokenness and people

34:32

telling me this and that

34:34

and and my trauma

34:36

, that I literally

34:39

had come out as pansexual

34:41

. I'm like , well , I love everyone

34:43

, right , like which , I think

34:45

anyone who , anyone who

34:47

thinks they're pansexual just needs Jesus

34:50

, Cause they , they do love everyone . They just don't

34:52

need to have sex with everyone . And

34:57

that's where I was . I was like , well , what's the point

34:59

If I know , I ultimately want to be with a man

35:01

? Like I don't understand . It was

35:04

so confused and

35:06

like I thank God every

35:08

day because I

35:10

just I thought I was going crazy . I was

35:12

like going to be ruining a multiple

35:15

friendships . It was just like so

35:18

toxic

35:21

.

35:21

Right , no , that's . That's very insightful . I hadn't

35:24

thought about that part of it , but I'm

35:26

glad you mentioned that , because a lot of people do

35:28

seem very confused

35:31

about their identity , because their identity is

35:33

not through God , it's through something else , and

35:35

if your identity is through your sexuality

35:37

or your sexual preference , I think you kind

35:39

of missed the creation of who

35:42

you really are through God .

35:45

Exactly . And when you're a people pleaser

35:47

and you're just trying to be something

35:49

for everyone else and then sex gets

35:51

involved , you will say , oh

35:53

, I'm this because I just need that love

35:55

, I just want to be loved , and so if you love

35:57

me , I'll be this for you , you know

35:59

. And so , yeah , it's so

36:02

much , very insightful .

36:03

So , jordan , I always like to ask my guests this question

36:06

what do you want your legacy to be ?

36:11

I I definitely want to just

36:13

share the

36:16

truth . I think my legacy is

36:18

just sharing my story and truth

36:25

. I think my legacy is just sharing my story and so many parts of

36:27

it . Like one of the things I had been avoiding and that

36:29

God was like you should do this , I need you to do this was

36:31

was public speaking and

36:33

sharing my story , because

36:36

I have so many things

36:38

that I actually was telling

36:40

a friend from church and she's like

36:42

your life sounds

36:44

like a movie and

36:48

I was like I didn't realize

36:50

like that so much had happened . But now that you're

36:52

saying that I do have a lot I could I

36:54

could tell people about . So

36:58

definitely just sharing

37:00

everything God has done in my

37:02

life and and to be able

37:04

to touch other people and make heaven

37:06

crowded .

37:07

That's great . So you have a book right there . Right

37:09

, you should be writing a book right now .

37:13

I actually am , that's

37:18

great , great minds .

37:20

Take a look . Yes

37:27

, amen , that's great see great minds .

37:28

Take a look

37:31

, yes , amen . Well , jordan , thanks so much for being on the podcast

37:33

. What can people find you on social media and connect

37:35

with you ? Yes , thank you so much for inviting me and

37:37

, um , so you can find me on Jordan J-O-R-D-A-N , underscore

37:40

Roche R-O-C-H-E

37:42

, and on

37:44

Facebook , too , jordan Roche . And

37:47

then I'm also on TikTok

37:49

and that's Jordy

37:52

J-O-R-D-E-E , underscore

37:55

R-E-E-D . But

38:00

my website also has like a lot of them . So

38:02

if you go to BeKindToFutureYoucom

38:05

, you can

38:07

find a lot of free resources and

38:09

the links to all of my social media .

38:11

Well , jordan , thanks so much and I'm so glad that we

38:14

had this opportunity to kind of share how God's

38:16

been blessing you and the journey God's

38:18

taken you on , and blessings on that book you're writing

38:20

, and may it inspire other people to

38:22

start that journey as well , those who have drifted

38:25

away .

38:27

Yes , thank you so much . It's been such a blessing to

38:30

share with you and hopefully touch

38:32

a lot of lives .

38:32

Me . I hope so .

38:35

Yes .
