make a commitment to stop the thing that
0:02
is destroying you and start the thing that's
0:04
going to build you. Welcome
0:08
to the Bedros Coolian Show. Hey
0:26
guys, welcome to the Bedros Coolian Show. My name is
0:28
Bedros Coolian. Today, we've got a great show teed up
0:30
for you and this is for all of you who
0:32
have your chips on the
0:34
table. In other words, all the chips are down. You've
0:38
hit rock bottom. What do
0:40
you do next? And this
0:42
is actually a show
0:45
that was inspired by a gentleman I
0:47
met in Plantation, Florida, just outside of
0:49
Fort Lauderdale, Florida. And
0:52
I was working out at a UFC gym out
0:54
there in Plantation, Florida. Shout out to all
0:57
of you in Fort Lauderdale and Plantation. And
1:01
this gentleman came up to me and he's like, dude, I
1:03
read your book and I listened
1:05
to your podcast and I want to let you know
1:08
that just a few
1:10
years ago, I had hit rock bottom and
1:13
all the chips were down. I
1:15
was like, dude, what do you mean? He goes, well,
1:17
you know, I was in the military and I
1:19
was a field medic. And
1:21
then I got out of the military and I
1:23
became a nurse at a hospital, but as they
1:25
started to get
1:28
everyone to take that
1:32
COVID-19 vaccine, I
1:34
chose not to. And so I
1:36
had to quit my nursing job at the hospital. And
1:39
so I found myself in a position where I
1:43
gained weight, debt
1:47
and unsure of my path and purpose and
1:51
started to really get down and depressed
1:54
and anxious. And
1:56
he showed me a picture On
1:58
his phone. And
2:00
I think if memory serves right, here's a. Make
2:02
two hundred and Eighty two hundred ninety
2:05
pounds. And then he showed me his
2:07
current picture. And. You could
2:09
see abs coming out I'm he had
2:11
dropped probably that forty pounds or so
2:13
fifty pounds and he's. He's
2:16
have within half way through and Priscilla's
2:18
seventy five hard right now and he's
2:20
like man. Between listening to andy show
2:23
and your show and reading your book,
2:25
like to sing is. That
2:27
like of transform my life. I
2:29
got myself out of rock Bottom and I
2:32
got to thinking that. Rock
2:34
Bottom isn't just a place that you're
2:36
at if you're addicted to drugs, if
2:38
you're addicted to alcohol. When we think
2:40
about Rock Bottom, it's typically a byproduct
2:43
of. Drugs. Or alcohol? Something
2:45
went wrong because I'm an addiction. Everything
2:49
around you fell apart. Your words,
2:51
your family, your house, Your
2:53
sense of mission and purpose and
2:55
you are just at the very
2:57
bottom. Of addiction.
3:01
And as Lauren here said a second ago,
3:05
When you're at that place, you can see ten
3:07
feet ahead of you. When sounds like here's the
3:09
first step you like, I can't even see the
3:12
first half step let alone the first step as
3:14
I wanted to make this video this episode this
3:16
podcast for you guys because I. I
3:19
think I can help those of you that are
3:21
stuck in rock bottom. Where.
3:23
Your chips are all out! And
3:26
you know know what to do next
3:28
and it doesn't matter is a byproduct
3:30
of advice and addiction, alcohol, or if
3:32
it's a series of bad decisions. Maybe
3:34
you'd listen to the show when you
3:36
know what you should be going, but
3:38
you're not waking up on time. You're
3:41
hitting the snooze button. You're not working
3:43
out your screen, sucking too much. You
3:45
are not drinking your water, You not
3:47
getting sunlight, You're not exercising. You're not
3:49
eating right. You're not surrounding yourself with
3:51
positive, success minded people. You.
3:54
Instead hit the have a pen. Maybe
3:56
there's alcohol? Maybe there's a string of bad
3:58
decisions? Maybe you're just lazy. Whatever
4:02
it is, they got you to rock bottom. Whatever
4:04
it is that got you to. This.
4:07
Place of were all the chips are
4:09
down. There. Is
4:11
a way out. But. When
4:13
you're there. It's hard to
4:15
see. The. Top Of the Staircase. How
4:18
it's hard to see that first step isn't it?
4:20
And I share that with you because. After
4:23
meeting this gentleman implantation florida. I
4:27
that you see gym. I.
4:29
Realize at Rock Bottom shows up in many
4:31
ways and people's lives manic. It could be
4:33
a byproduct of. Have a life
4:36
ambush. You. Know. My
4:38
friend Jason Redmond. Cause
4:41
in a life ambush, you know If you know
4:43
his story, he's A. He's a retired Navy Seal.
4:46
He got himself a purple heart after getting
4:48
shot up. While
4:50
in Iraq he was shot across the
4:52
body through the face. Blew. Out.
4:55
His orbital plate. He was shot
4:57
in the arm. It took nearly
4:59
forty surgeries over two and a
5:01
half year period to peace, chase
5:03
and back together again. From.
5:06
A titanium face played to all the
5:08
different skin grafts. He
5:11
found himself. In
5:13
a life ambush. right? He
5:16
and his name is your buddies are the
5:18
predators. They're the ones going to get the
5:20
bad guys on that particular mission. But.
5:23
Instead he finds himself on the X. Now.
5:27
Jason's got a strong mindset. He's got
5:29
a strong support system. And
5:32
if you know anything about Jason if you read
5:34
any of his to his to bugs you know
5:36
that he overcame and persevered through. The.
5:38
Best thing you could use a get off the acts
5:40
of ambush. But
5:42
life ambushes can come in many ways. Maybe
5:44
you come home and the spouses I tell
5:47
on a divorce? Maybe get a phone call.
5:49
Mom and dad gone into a car accident.
5:53
Maybe a string of bad decisions and business
5:55
put you in a massive debt. maybe
5:59
maybe just maybe the
6:01
traumas that you haven't healed from as
6:03
a kid are constantly haunting
6:06
and haunting and haunting you. And
6:09
you're in a place where you can only use
6:11
alcohol and drugs to escape the pain. And
6:15
the more you do that, the greater the addiction
6:17
and dependency grows. And
6:20
you find yourself hiding your addictions from
6:23
your family, from your boss, from your
6:25
coworkers, from your business partners.
6:28
I don't know how Rock Bottom shows up for you, but
6:31
I can tell you there's a way out. And
6:34
that's what this episode is about. So
6:37
I wanna tell you something. Back in 2012, 2013,
6:39
in that era, I
6:45
found myself in my own version of a Rock
6:47
Bottom. All the chips were out. They
6:49
were all down. I had
6:51
nothing more. Now at
6:53
that time, I'd
6:56
launched Fit Body Bootcamp a year
6:58
earlier. I had underestimated how
7:01
much work it would take to
7:03
launch a successful business. And
7:06
so the 80 some odd thousand dollars we
7:08
spent to franchise was
7:11
just a fraction of what was needed to
7:13
continue to grow the Fit Body Bootcamp brand.
7:15
It is not the mega franchise that it
7:17
is today. Back then,
7:19
we had a handful
7:21
of locations. Back then, we didn't
7:24
have processes and systems. Back then,
7:26
we didn't have the predictable marketing
7:28
strategies. Back then, we didn't have
7:30
operation teams, compliance teams, sales teams,
7:33
leadership teams like we do today.
7:36
Today, Fit Body Bootcamp thrives as
7:38
a byproduct of
7:42
having persevered through
7:44
the adversity that was laid at my feet. Some,
7:48
as a byproduct of me underestimating exactly
7:50
what it would take to launch a
7:52
successful mega brand and
7:55
some as a byproduct of really stupid
7:57
decisions on my part. And
8:00
I have to own up to those. And
8:03
so when we didn't have enough money to continue
8:05
to grow, I had to refinance
8:08
the house. I had to pull money
8:10
out on my house. And you
8:12
could imagine what that would do to
8:14
your relationship with your spouse. If
8:17
you're constantly pulling money on the house, throwing
8:19
it into a business that's just eating up
8:22
that money and demanding more to continue to
8:24
grow and you don't know how much more
8:26
it needs and where you're going to find
8:28
the rest of that money. But
8:31
if you don't feed it, it is the end. And
8:36
so I had gotten to a place of burnout. By
8:39
the time two and a half years had gone by
8:42
after launching Fit Body Bootcamp, I had gotten to a
8:44
place of burnout where I was just in
8:46
debt. I
8:49
was constantly stressed and anxious.
8:52
Me and my business partner who started Fit Body Bootcamp
8:55
at the time were at each other's
8:57
throat. And
8:59
quite honestly, I didn't see a way out. And
9:02
I think that's what rock bottom is. It's
9:05
when you don't see a way out.
9:08
Rock bottom is the absence of hope.
9:13
And only looking back now, I realized what
9:17
had happened was I had given up. I
9:20
had given up in growing Fit Body Bootcamp and I
9:23
had, I guess, subconsciously committed to the idea that
9:25
I will let it all erode. Now,
9:28
if you read my book, Man Up, another
9:30
year after this period,
9:34
I had a massive panic attack, right?
9:38
Remember, I told you in my book that
9:40
I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought that
9:42
at age 38, 11 years ago from today, at
9:47
age 38, I thought I was having a heart attack
9:49
and I was dying. What
9:51
I didn't realize was this was the first of
9:53
many panic attacks. And
9:55
it was because I was so overwhelmed, I couldn't see
9:57
10 feet in front of me in terms of a disease.
10:00
to make that was going to give me any
10:02
kind of hope to resurrect Fit
10:04
Body Bootcamp, to right the
10:07
wrongs, to
10:10
be able to get the business on track
10:13
without having to keep selling assets.
10:18
Hell, I had a 2011 Nissan GTR. At
10:23
the time, that was my dream car. I
10:26
bought that Nissan GTR, literally
10:29
drove it to SP Engineering out
10:32
here off the 60 freeway in LA, and
10:35
spent another $25,000 getting
10:38
that bad boy souped up, man. Downpipes,
10:43
cat, exhaust, fuel
10:46
injectors, air
10:50
intake, the
10:52
cob tune, and
10:55
a whole bunch of other shit that
10:58
ended up putting the price point of that
11:00
new GTR at about $120,000, only
11:06
to have to sell it at
11:09
a massive deficit, at a massive loss, six
11:12
months later, because I had so much debt
11:14
that had accumulated, because
11:16
in that time, my
11:19
quarterly taxes and payroll
11:21
were due in the same month, and
11:24
I realized there's no more money I can
11:26
take out of my house. Payroll
11:29
and quarterly taxes are due, and
11:31
the only way I can make both of those happen
11:34
is if I sell this dream car that I bought, and
11:38
that's exactly what I did, and I sold it
11:40
for a big loss, and
11:43
it was a massive regret at the time, but
11:45
it was the only decision I could make. And
11:49
so I share this with you, because there was
11:51
a time I was just waiting for everything to
11:53
collapse around me, and it
11:55
doesn't make me happy to say this, and it's not
11:57
something that I'm proud of here, but I would literally
11:59
say it. sit in my Chevy Tahoe and
12:02
listen to Howard Stern and he would, you
12:05
know, he had a great show. If you
12:07
all ever listen to Howard Stern, you know he's a great
12:10
radio personality and he would
12:13
entertain me. And looking back
12:15
now, I realized all I was doing was just waiting
12:18
out the collapse of my
12:20
relationship, of my
12:22
health, because I wasn't sleeping
12:25
at night. I was
12:27
always anxious. I would go
12:29
to the gym and instead of working out, I would just
12:31
do a couple of reps and then go back to my
12:33
truck and then just fall asleep in the parking lot. I
12:36
wasn't eating right. I was emotionally eating. And
12:40
so I'd found myself that everything's about to
12:42
fall apart, my health, my relationship, my money,
12:44
my business, my mindset.
12:49
And so I was just entertaining myself with Howard Stern. Like
12:52
what an unfortunate way to give up,
12:54
right? Lucky for
12:56
me, he
13:00
had a guest on the show and Howard
13:02
Stern was interviewing this guy named Howard Wozden.
13:06
Howard Wozden had, and the
13:08
year was probably, I don't
13:10
know, 2013, which was
13:12
two years earlier, Howard Wozden had
13:15
written a book called Memoirs of
13:17
a Navy Seal Sniper, or
13:20
maybe it's Memoirs of an Elite Navy
13:22
Seal Sniper. And
13:25
as it turns out, Howard Wozden was
13:27
a member of Seal Team 6 during
13:30
that time of Black Hawk
13:32
Down in Africa. And
13:36
he was a sniper out
13:39
there in Mugadishu. And
13:42
he's being interviewed by Howard Stern and
13:45
I'm paying attention and
13:47
I'm like, man, this guy's got a book. And
13:49
Howard Stern says, guys, if you like
13:51
the stuff we're talking about here and
13:54
you want to read a really good book, you ought to go buy
13:56
his book. Well, Listen, man, I'm a
13:58
Howard Stern fan. Howard
14:01
Stern makes a recommendation. I'm
14:03
gonna go do it. He recommended
14:06
a book. I like the
14:08
interview. I went and bought Howard Stern.
14:10
Howard was his book on the spot
14:12
Started my towel went to Barnes and
14:14
Nobles, bought the book, started reading it.
14:17
Now keep in mind every day I'm sitting at
14:19
my trucks. Just
14:21
waiting for the eminent collapse of sit
14:23
by the boot camp of my life
14:25
of my relationship. My.
14:28
Physique was already gone. I'd put on
14:30
like thirty five pounds in that time.
14:33
I look like a pair. See
14:35
wonder why I'm always up your ass about
14:38
doing something. To. Get yourself
14:40
back in shape. Speak as
14:42
Fitness is the gateway drug. And
14:45
I'll talk more about that and just a moment. For
14:48
them, reading how would wasn't books? I
14:53
realize it. What?
14:55
These guys go through. As
14:58
they are becoming Navy Seals. Is
15:01
nowhere near the stress. Goes
15:06
my stress I should say is nowhere near
15:08
the stress. That. They were
15:10
going through now. I had chosen to be
15:12
an entrepreneur. They had made the choice to
15:14
become Navy Seals. I.
15:17
Was going through my own version of a suck?
15:19
They were going to their own version of a
15:21
suck. The difference was that once they become a
15:23
Navy Seal, They're deployed to
15:25
war. They
15:27
can lose your life. The.
15:29
Decisions they make. Are
15:32
very costly, There. Is
15:34
no. Correction. From some of
15:36
the mistakes they make. right? As
15:39
those I'm reading his book, I'm learning all
15:42
about leadership. I'm learning about prioritizing like literally
15:44
taking all the things he to do and
15:46
prioritize. I'm from the highest level priority to
15:48
los of a priority. And
15:50
and executing on it. I'm
15:53
learning how to communicate. I'm learning what
15:55
a mission is. Not just
15:57
a mission as and battle. But what
15:59
is my me? As an entrepreneur was the last
16:01
time I shared my vision of my mission for
16:03
sit body boot camp for this baby little company
16:06
that I'd built. With my
16:08
team. I hadn't. Back.
16:10
Then the ask me how many locations the want
16:12
I would set alight but when you want him
16:15
by as soon as possible percent of beijing mess
16:17
on a mission right? A. Proper
16:19
Mission is on one twenty five hundred
16:21
locations By the your twenty twenty five.
16:24
And. These are the things we're going to do
16:26
our daily mission steps of rotate to get there.
16:30
I didn't know any of that stuff. Turns.
16:33
Out I was a horrible leader. And.
16:35
It was the poor leadership decisions I had
16:37
made that has got me into most of
16:40
the financial crisis that I was dealing with.
16:43
And there I was experiencing rock
16:45
bottom. Now. Reading a
16:47
book by Howard was then
16:49
recommended by Howard Stern. And.
16:53
Realizing that. If I take
16:55
some of the advice from this man's books, And
16:58
apply to my business. I. Just
17:00
might be able to. Course.
17:03
Correct. This.
17:05
Past and I'm on. Both physically.
17:09
Mentally. Relation
17:11
Li. And in business.
17:15
Now member I said in his book
17:18
Howard was and talked about prioritizing. As
17:21
seals as warriors, They.
17:23
Prioritize what they're going to do
17:25
on their mission. right? Everything
17:27
can be a proud to say got it's okay This
17:29
is a top priority is the second, this the third.
17:32
The force. And
17:34
I realized right. Well, I don't have a lot of
17:36
control. right? Now. As
17:39
on as I'm reading this book, I realize the highest
17:41
party that I have right now. Is getting
17:43
myself back in shape? Why? Because it is the
17:45
only thing I'm one hundred percent control over. Didn't.
17:48
Have any control. On
17:50
the home front. I can
17:52
control what I do from that point forward, but
17:55
I don't know. how
17:58
my wife would feel I
18:01
didn't have any control in
18:04
terms of the business side of things, not
18:08
finite immediate control where I could flip
18:10
a lever and get a result. So
18:13
I found myself saying, well, what is the
18:15
thing that I have the highest level of control over? My
18:19
fitness. All right, fat boy, get
18:22
fit again. Because
18:24
that I can control. I
18:27
can decide how many times a week I work out. I
18:29
can decide how I eat. I can
18:32
decide how intense my workouts are. I
18:34
can decide exactly what
18:37
I'm going to do to build the muscle, burn
18:39
the fat, and
18:41
no one's going to stop me. There is
18:43
no secondary person that's going to make a
18:46
decision where my fitness is concerned. It's all
18:48
me. And
18:50
there isn't a delay
18:53
in terms
18:55
of making a decision and then
18:57
seeing the outcome later like
19:00
there is in business. Because you
19:02
know this, you can walk into the gym, have an
19:04
awesome workout for 45 minutes, walk
19:06
out feeling like you're the fucking king of
19:09
the world, right? Like
19:11
that is amazing. Within 45
19:13
minutes, you
19:16
completely changed how you feel, how
19:18
you think, how you process. You
19:21
gave yourself hope. And
19:23
so every day, I continue
19:26
to work on my fitness while
19:28
I also work on my business.
19:31
And by stacking that confidence, those wins
19:33
in the gym, as the
19:36
scale went down in weight, as
19:39
the strength and endurance went
19:41
up in the gym, as
19:44
my body got leaner, as
19:46
I changed my shape
19:48
and got wider shoulders, wider back,
19:50
and narrower waist again, I
19:53
started to feel a sense of great hope
19:57
In just a matter of 30 days. As
20:00
a when I'm up your ass. Telling
20:03
you that if you are in a rock
20:05
bottom place in life, all the chips are
20:08
down. You don't know what
20:10
to do? A legal why is be costly.
20:12
Say. Get your ass
20:14
and shape because fitness is the gateway
20:16
drug. To the high yourself.
20:20
When you start working out, you
20:22
immediately start releasing doping means and
20:24
endorphins. You start.
20:26
Feeling. Better you start feeling hopeful
20:29
and when you feel hopeful, you
20:31
can ride that wave after that
20:33
work out into your milk. It's
20:36
no coincidence that some of my best
20:38
workouts have led to some of my
20:41
best business ideas. It's
20:43
no coincidence to some my best workouts
20:45
have led to my some my best
20:47
business decisions. It
20:50
is no coincidence that some my
20:52
best workouts had led to some
20:54
my best podcast episodes. The
20:58
reason for that is because when you're
21:00
working out, you have absolute control. You
21:02
put that phone away, You come in,
21:04
there was a plan of attack. you
21:06
had your coffee, I'd your protein, your
21:08
your oatmeal ahead of time. And.
21:11
You attack that work out like a mother
21:14
fucker. You
21:16
do that for thirty days straight and I
21:18
promise you. He. Will
21:20
see daylight In terms of rock bottom.
21:24
But he said, i think what most people do was
21:26
when they hit rock bottom when all the chips are
21:28
down. Defined. A shovel and they
21:30
start digging more. Like
21:32
you know what are noses rock bottom but I think
21:34
I can dig myself into a deeper hole. I'll.
21:38
Continue to not work out or continue. Not
21:40
good sleep. I won't get some might I
21:42
will eat like an idiot. I'll
21:45
keep drinking. I'll.
21:47
Keep. Addicted. To the beep.
21:50
To. whatever drugs. Or
21:53
keep rubbing one out to to pornography.
21:57
how long will you use those escapes
22:00
When you're at rock bottom until
22:02
you decide to make a really bad decision And
22:08
that's what this guy in plantation Florida was telling
22:10
me he was like dude I
22:12
was ready to check out Do
22:15
you understand that I? Don't
22:17
know where you guys are in life right now. I don't
22:20
know if you're rock bottom I don't know if you're about
22:22
there. I don't know if you've been hanging out there for
22:24
a time and I
22:26
don't know if it's a byproduct of
22:28
alcohol addiction to drugs I don't know
22:30
if it's a byproduct of a relationship
22:32
gone bad or a business collapse or
22:34
you've just been trying to do everything
22:36
wrong because you are just focused on
22:38
sabotaging your life because you refuse to
22:41
heal from your shit from when
22:43
you were a kid How
22:46
long will you stay here and How
22:50
long until you decide that you're gonna check
22:52
out like this guy was about to
22:56
and This episode was literally
22:58
inspired by him It
23:01
was inspired by him for you It
23:03
was inspired by him for you to share it
23:05
with others who might be hitting
23:07
rock bottom Who might not know what
23:10
to do so let's talk about that
23:12
here. You are all the chips
23:14
are down You've hit rock bottom. What do you
23:16
do? Simple
23:20
First of all take inventory Life
23:22
is never as bad It's
23:25
never as bad as we think it is Because
23:27
if you are listening to this episode if
23:29
you're watching this show on YouTube You're
23:33
already at an advantage. Why you have
23:35
life Dead
23:37
people don't have any options living
23:40
people do You
23:42
have life that means you have options you
23:45
may not have hope yet, but you have
23:47
options One option is
23:50
to make a commitment To
23:52
stop the thing that is destroying you and
23:55
start the thing that's going to build you that
23:58
is where you start That's
24:00
the commitment I made. That I
24:02
was gonna start working out like a savage again. Cause
24:05
man, I'm a personal trainer, right? I'm a personal
24:07
trainer by trade for over 25 years. How
24:10
did I let myself put on 35 pounds of fat? Let
24:14
all the muscle atrophy to
24:17
the point where I was wearing baggy clothes when I
24:19
was making videos. If you were on YouTube, go back
24:21
to my, some of my older videos, you'll see the
24:23
chunky cheeks. You'll see me making videos from the, from
24:25
the neck up because I was embarrassed to show my
24:27
body. Like
24:31
what a hypocrite. How am I
24:33
starting a fitness business? Yet I'm 35 pounds
24:36
over fat. But
24:39
that's where you start. If you're at rock bottom, you have
24:41
to make a commitment to do one
24:44
thing. And that one thing is to start
24:46
the thing that's gonna build you and
24:48
to stop one thing that's
24:50
destroying you. For
24:52
me, it was to start working out like a
24:54
savage and to stop
24:56
binge eating at night. That's
24:59
when I would binge eat. Three to
25:01
five nights a week, I
25:03
would be stressed, overwhelmed.
25:06
And I would stand at the buffet that
25:08
center little island in the kitchen
25:10
in my house. And I would
25:12
open up the bag of bagels. I would take out
25:15
the cream cheese from the fridge and I would crack
25:17
a bagel in half and I would dip it in
25:19
the cream cheese and eat it. Three,
25:22
four, five bagels and cream cheese
25:24
a night. How
25:29
much fat does
25:31
all that process carbohydrates and fat
25:34
that you're eating put on you? How
25:37
much guilt and shame did I
25:40
feel the next morning? Fuck,
25:42
let's be honest. After
25:44
I got that dopamine hit, after eating
25:47
three, four, five bagels and cream cheese, just
25:49
standing there at the buffet, I
25:52
would feel such guilt immediately.
25:55
I would feel such regret immediately.
25:58
And the next morning I'm like, man, I'm a piece of shit. Hey
26:00
guys, quick interruption to the Bedros Cooling

27:27
to the show. I mean, if you're vibrating, it's such a low
27:29
frequency, right? If you
27:31
go to Google and you do a Google search for
27:33
the human energy frequency
27:36
chart, you're going to see this pyramid.
27:39
And at the very bottom of that pyramid, the
27:43
lowest frequency that you could vibrate at is
27:47
guilt, shame, regret.
27:53
That's where I was vibrating at. In
27:56
the middle of that pyramid, as the
27:58
frequency levels go higher, There's
28:00
acceptance. And
28:03
that is the next thing you do. You accept
28:05
that you're rock bottom and
28:07
you accept that you're going to have to
28:09
make one change, which is to do
28:11
something that's going to build you and
28:13
to stop something that's destroying you. And at
28:15
the very top of that pyramid is
28:18
self actualization. At the
28:20
very top is bliss,
28:23
happiness, joy, the
28:25
highest of frequencies. And
28:28
that's really what it takes to get out of rock
28:30
bottom. It's
28:32
not a complex plan. Your complex
28:34
mind wants to make it a
28:36
complex plan so that you could
28:38
further overwhelm yourself and stay at
28:40
rock bottom. But
28:44
the reality is you pick the one thing and
28:47
you do it for 30 days. In
28:49
my case and in most of your cases, start
28:51
working out again. I mean, work
28:54
out right and eat right. Work out
28:56
to build muscle and burn fat. Work
28:58
out to get abdominal
29:00
definition. Work out to
29:02
look like a fucking savage
29:04
of a human being. Work
29:07
out so you don't look like a pear
29:09
or a pumpkin anymore with gelatinous titties that
29:11
I could slap around and milk. And
29:14
when you do that for
29:17
30 days straight, you have
29:19
absolute control over what you eat,
29:22
what you drink, how you sleep,
29:25
your workouts. You're going to
29:27
put your phone away when
29:29
you're crushing the weights. You're
29:32
going to get your cardio in if you need it or
29:36
I can superset like I do with minimal rest. And
29:41
then you're going to stop the one thing that's
29:43
destroying you as you're doing the one
29:45
thing that is building you for those 30 days. And
29:47
for me, it was the bagels and cream cheese three
29:49
to five nights a week. And
29:51
guess what happened next? All
29:54
of a sudden, day after day, like
29:56
from day one, you're going to feel hopeful because you're going
29:59
to have such an awesome. You're gonna walk out
30:01
of that gym feeling like
30:03
you're fucking 20 feet tall. Like,
30:05
all right, feel good about myself. I made a commitment to
30:08
do something. I have absolute control over that thing. I
30:11
did it exactly as I committed. Oh, fucking
30:14
savage. What else can I crush today while
30:17
I'm on this endorphin high? That
30:20
is where the gateway is. That
30:23
is why I say fitness is the gateway drug. Fitness
30:26
is what will get you out of rock bottom. Because
30:29
when you are working out
30:31
consistently to
30:34
the point where you're getting actual
30:36
visible results, results
30:39
that you could measure on a body fat test,
30:41
results that you could see on a scale, guess
30:44
what's happening? You're deploying the
30:46
four most important things that
30:49
people can use to
30:52
climb out of any bad
30:54
situation. Consistency,
30:56
focus, delayed gratification, and discipline.
30:58
Because it'll take consistency, focus,
31:01
delayed gratification, and discipline
31:03
for you to eat right every day, go
31:05
to the gym every day, bring the fucking
31:07
thunder every day, for you to go to
31:10
sleep on time, for
31:12
you to get that sunlight, do the things that are gonna build
31:14
the muscle, burn the fat for 30 days. It
31:16
takes those four things. And in 30 days,
31:18
those four things are gonna become a new habit that you
31:20
can now deploy in business. You
31:23
can deploy in your relationship. You can deploy in
31:25
your business partnerships, at
31:28
work if you have a job. You
31:30
all of a sudden feel hope on a day to
31:32
day, week to week, month to month basis, before you
31:35
know it, 90 days have gone by. And you're like,
31:37
you know what? I think I'm gonna start tearing away
31:39
some other addictions that I have, some
31:42
other dependencies. And
31:44
maybe that's when you stop doing the
31:46
occasional drinking, the social drinking.
31:49
The social drinking. By
31:52
the way, all these fucking people that are
31:55
busting my balls about what's wrong with the
31:57
occasional drinking. If I said that I
31:59
would, Listen To
32:01
me. November Twelve Of Twenty Twenty
32:03
Two. I.
32:06
Stopped social drinking. I was never an
32:08
alcoholic. I was never a drink a
32:11
few beers or winds at night. Couple
32:14
of times a month I would have a
32:16
couple of cocktails at a dinner or after
32:18
a speaking gig at the meet and greet
32:20
to just kind of take the edge off,
32:23
right? I would have a vodka
32:25
and pineapple juice, but as I got
32:27
into my later forties and forty nine
32:29
now. Even
32:31
a couple a cocktails. Made.
32:33
Me: foggy headed the Met next morning.
32:35
even a couple a cocktails. Would.
32:38
Give me indigestion. I was unable to
32:40
sleep. And quite honestly, even
32:42
a couple of cocktails took away the
32:44
beautiful veins on my body, and I
32:46
would lose definition for a day or.
32:49
Because. Alcohol this poison and it makes
32:51
you retain water and book. And
32:54
the active your body trying to purge the
32:56
poison out. Makes. Your
32:58
body look like a sack of wet ricotta
33:00
cheese. And
33:03
so. When I decided
33:05
to quit alcohol. Even. Just
33:07
occasional drinking. Good.
33:09
People were like. Oh, Is everything
33:12
okay? Am I get? Everything's fine? Or.
33:14
Didn't do to deal with okay on occasion right?
33:16
and we can live a little right? Now.
33:19
I don't want to live a little like that's.
33:21
where I need a dependency on alcohol to take
33:23
the edge off. No one is out there drinking
33:25
it for the taste of it was. Be honest,
33:28
you're not drinking alcohol for the taste of it.
33:30
You're drinking it for how it makes you feel.
33:33
It makes you feel like. Your
33:36
problems on exist. It makes you feel
33:38
like. You're escaping.
33:41
From was haunting you. It makes you
33:43
feel like. The. Trauma that
33:45
you were dealing with. Is.
33:47
Not there at the moment. But
33:50
what you feel later. Is. Regrets.
33:52
What? You feel later is foggy. What?
33:55
You feel later is like a fat socks.
33:58
and i can't understand why people will bust
34:00
balls about the fact that, well, why don't you
34:03
just have a beer? Why don't you just have
34:05
one cocktail? It's not gonna hurt anybody. Because if
34:07
I said, hey man, on November 12th, I stopped
34:09
fentanyl, you
34:11
wouldn't be like, well, you know, have
34:13
a little bit of fentanyl, it's okay. Right,
34:16
you would never do that. But somehow,
34:18
because alcohol is legal by the fucking
34:20
oppressive system, the
34:22
opposition that is trying to control and
34:24
get compliance over you, you're like,
34:27
it's legal, it's fine. How is it
34:29
legal to drink
34:31
alcohol? And
34:33
it's not legal in some states to smoke weed.
34:37
Right, like think about that. Like
34:40
there was a time just a few years back that
34:42
most states, you can
34:44
buy weed legally. Yet
34:47
you can drink alcohol. Because it's a big business,
34:49
they have lobbies that they lobby the big government.
34:53
And how does that end up? Well, it ends up like this. Money
34:57
in the pockets of politicians
35:00
who then legalize alcohol, then
35:03
after a couple drinks, put you in
35:06
a position to get a DUI. Put
35:08
you in a position to make a bad decision with alcohol.
35:11
And I'm not here to do a whole diatribe on alcohol.
35:13
I've did a whole fucking episode why you oughta quit alcohol.
35:15
But what I'm telling you is that when you make that
35:18
commitment for those 30 days to
35:20
start getting after your fitness, to
35:23
do that one thing, that one
35:25
thing that's gonna build you, get after your
35:27
fitness, and then do
35:29
the one thing that's destroying you.
35:31
And I don't care what that one thing is,
35:33
but get rid of it. Could be alcohol, could
35:36
be food, but just pick one of the many
35:38
things that are holding you at rock bottom. You
35:42
do that for 30 days, man, and you
35:44
are gonna fucking find a new version of
35:46
yourself. And that's gonna give you the confidence
35:48
and the courage to stop one more thing,
35:50
and to stop one more thing, and to
35:52
stop one more thing. And then guess what
35:54
happens then? You've gained momentum. Now 90 days
35:56
have gone by, you've stopped a lot of
35:58
your vices, you've got greater. discipline and structuring
36:00
your life. You're getting leaner, more jacked,
36:03
you're getting compliments. Chicks
36:05
are breaking their neck to look at you. Or
36:08
in some of your cases, dudes are breaking their neck to look
36:10
at you. And that's cool too. I
36:12
don't give a fuck. The
36:15
point I'm making here is
36:18
if you're stuck at rock bottom, you're
36:20
either gonna wait it out and
36:23
hope that things
36:25
work out, or you have to
36:27
become an active participant and crawling
36:29
out of the hole
36:32
that you dug yourself in. Cause let's face it,
36:35
more times than not, rock bottom,
36:37
all the chips being out on the
36:39
table is a byproduct of you making
36:41
a string of bad decisions or
36:44
avoiding the right decisions is
36:47
what got you there. And
36:50
so what am I telling you here? Embrace fitness
36:52
for 30 days. Find the
36:54
one thing that's destroying you and sabotaging you and
36:57
stop that for 30 days. And
36:59
when you do, you will fight your way, crawl
37:01
your way, climb your way out of that rock
37:03
bottom. And when you do, pay it forward to
37:05
others. Because today we live in
37:08
a time and place where
37:11
the economy is fucked, our
37:13
nation's leadership is fucked. People
37:16
are having a hard time paying
37:18
their bills. Show
37:20
some grace, show some kindness to others
37:23
by forwarding this episode to them. Letting
37:25
them know that rock bottom is not permanent,
37:28
that there is a plan of getting out of rock bottom.
37:30
It's a very simple plan. Get lean and
37:33
jacked for 30 days, stop the
37:35
one thing that's destroying you. That
37:37
one thing you stop by the way, it could be fucking TV. If
37:40
you just binge watching TV late at night and therefore in
37:42
the morning you're having a hard time getting up, fucking
37:45
stop watching TV. My case, that one
37:47
thing that was destroying me was the bagels and cream
37:49
cheese every night. What
37:51
I'm saying is as you do this stuff, it'll
37:54
stack on top of itself. The W's will stack,
37:57
just like the losses have stacked in your life right now.
38:01
Guys, so with that said, I want
38:03
to remind you that BK Live is
38:05

38:15
will go up in a couple months. And listen,
38:17
if you got value from this episode, do me a favor
38:19
and subscribe to it if you're on YouTube. Be
38:21
able to, hopefully you can share it with
38:24
people who need to hear this message. Share
38:28
it on social media. You
38:30
know, we're living in a time where the economy
38:33
is jacked up. The leadership that
38:35
we have in this country, like I said, is jacked
38:37
up. People have lost
38:39
hope. They're not making
38:41
as much money as they need to with their
38:43
bills stacking up. And
38:45
some people might secretly be at rock
38:47
bottom. And you and I
38:51
could have a hand in helping them climb
38:53
out of this. So guys and gals,
38:55
remember this, that average is the enemy,
38:58
success is your responsibility, and change can
39:00
take place in an instant if
39:02
you are willing to flip the switch. I'll see
39:04
you next time.
