RATING
Extremely informative and interesting and also funny. Always here for a well researched deep dive into history's worst people
I love this podcast, but Sophie continues to get more and more annoying. I liked it better when she was quiet.
I want to like this podcast but the side chatter and annoying input by the co-host make it unbearable. Just stick to the subject/story at hand and stop going into three minute side stories that the listeners don’t understand....it’s confusing and takes away from the story at hand. Most of these podcasts are an hour long but you could condense them into fifteen minutes if you cut all the side chatter.
Robert Evans usually has an interesting story to tell, and that really is the driving force of the podcast. There is a leftish edge to the stories, and I'm perfectly ok with that. The episodes also have a good narrative arc, and a decent pace. I would give it a five star review for that part. What bugs me though are the silly giggling and dumb jokes of the guests. Maybe that works for some, perhaps some will enjoy the light hearted tone of that childish stuff. But to me, it's annoying and unprofessional. Not saying a bit of humor can't work in a show that would otherwise be a pretty grim stuff, just that it shouldn't be as daft and distracting it is now. With more serious and intelligent guests, this would be a better show.
I discovered this podcast and devoured every episode, when Evans is on form he is eloquent, funny and radical host. Other episodes are phoned in with hit and miss jokes, hit and miss topics and hit and miss research. I could do with less rather than more content from the brilliant Robert Evans
This podcast is a woke dude spouting how evil all nonwoke people are. The guest take way from the story instead of adding to it
Taking facts and drawing imaginary connections doesn't seem like a good way to have an intellectual nor objective approach to subjects. I suppose this isn't supposed to be objective, but the vitriolic and immature phrasing and accusatory statements just kill any interest for me. It seems like the source material that many Alt-Left followers would use to justify their points or to attack those who question the hivemind. Don't waste your time here if you're not a radical, this is a mere echo-chamber.
Know what you get when you jump into this podcast. It's a chance to sh** talk terrible people and dress them down to a miniscule size. That might not be what you want. You might want more serious history to your podcast, and fair enough, but that is enjoyable to me. And it's got a good host and a good roster of guests.
Far left blue haired college communist numb nuts these people are. In one of the episode they literally made intentionally burning alive of 59 Hindu women and kids by muslim jihadists as some kind of accident. Fking as_holes . Jihadists literally locked the train door and throw cotton filled sacks and threw petrol bombs to burn them alive.just look it up on internet!!!!! And what's up with leftists around the world why they suck up to Muslims and Islam no matter how heinous their crimes are. They throw gays off from buildings , subjugate women, no Human rights for minorities , forceful conversions, target raping of non muslims (UK grooming gangs) , terrorism, aims of world domination/caliphate rule across the world just like fking Nazis. Leftists have excuses for all of this. They will just say this got nothing to do with Islam and wash their hands or worse they blame the victim to irk muslims. Like it's their fault to irk muslims so they deserve to be beheaded, raped or converted on gun point. Centrist like me who can see the bs of Islam ,left and right wings don't have any sense of belonging right now. No one represent us .
This podcast can best be described as juvenile and inane.
A staple of my week, Robert's insightful reporting and delivery is simply gold. It allows us to even laugh that the worst people in history, which is exactly what they would hate. Love this show.
Behind the Bastards is a HORRIBLE podcast that to me has no redeeming qualities or quality of any type... at all! They pick a person, a real person that they don't like then just proceed to trash that person in every way imaginable. They should be sued for slander based on the things they said about Ben Shapiro alone, I don't know how people can tell such lies about someone and state them as fact when it has absolutely no basis in reality whatsoever. They claim Shapiro is racist among many other things all of which are totally baseless, and why would they say such a horrible thing, what did they base this label on, what proof do they have? well they never give and hint of that, absolutely no reason as to why they would make such allegations but do make it very clear that they don't like him or his books at all. So, if you don't like something why make a podcast about it? Why not accept that it's not in line with your personal views and move on to something else. The only reason to take the time to attack him so personally, even making assumptions about his sex life or sexual history would be to slander, insult or just to drag his public image through the mud. It's just bullying for no good reason other than he has a different point of view or opinion so they attack his public image and make false statements that he has no way to defend himself against. It's just pathetic, and I am really disappointed that anyone would listen to such garbage.
Started out good, but as they chose more current topics quickly descended into insults and name calling. If you like the journalist/comedian mix up without the journalist counterpart being 100% unfunny check out The Dollop instead.
The best podcast going today
I love this show, but I had to take away a star because sometimes Robert gets into the weeds a bit. However, I love Robert's storytelling and I do appreciate that he does the research, because he comes up with some really wild stories! I do enjoy hearing about the early lives of these famous (and infamous) people we've been taught to blindly love and hate. Also, Robert's [dark] sense of humor just makes sense to me and makes me laugh.
Robert Evans is a fantastic journalist and researcher. His podcast is funny and engaging, as well as being extremely informative.
This has potential but it's sadly lost in the weeds. When Evans is on, he is very good but sadly he gets distracted and forgets he is doing a podcast. His guests can be very annoying and overbearing with their stupid and frequent comments. If the host did this alone or had a producer who had two buttons: One button would light up a sign for Evans that said "FOCUS!" and the other a shock collar for the guest, this podcast could be excellent. I found his seven part cops series to be top notch and the guest Propaganda to be informative and judicious with his comments. But too often you get fifteen minutes in and you've had four minutes of actual content. Sadly, I've given up on this podcast.
You will not be bored, that is not possible.
Bastards need to be exposed! And these guys do it. Awesome.
Strays too much from topic. Too much negativity. Only one sided view on topics (give me both sides, don't try to brainwash me... sheesh). And not my cup of tea with the humor.
