Today we play golf. Let me show
0:02
you how we do it in the pros. Welcome
0:06
to Behind the Golf Brand podcast. I
0:08
never missed with the Seven Iron, a conversation
0:10
with some of the most interesting innovators
0:12
and entrepreneurs behind the biggest names
0:15
in golf. My friends were the golf clubs. I
0:17
lived on the golf course, I lived on the driving rein
0:19
from Pro Talk . You should learn something from
0:21
each and every single round. You play to
0:24
fun from on and off the green. Why would
0:26
you play golf if you don't play it for money? Just let
0:28
me put the ball in a hole. This is Behind
0:30
the Golf Brand podcast with Paul Libert
0:33
tore .
0:34
What's up guys? Welcome to the Behind the Golf Brand
0:36
podcast. This week I have my good friend
0:38
Justin Bryant from Rapsodo . If
0:40
you guys don't know who Rapsodo is, then you probably are
0:42
not playing golf because they make some
0:45
of the best tech out there. They have the New
0:47
MLM two Pro, which we're gonna be talking about today. They
0:49
have the original Rapsodo , which I've done tons of content
0:52
on, and then also they
0:54
make the technology in the St plus,
0:56
which we just learned when making those
0:58
content videos. So it's really exciting to have Justin
1:00
on the show to learn more about Justin and
1:03
talk about the new Rapsodo MLM two Pro.
1:05
So welcome to the show,
1:06
Paul. Thanks for having me on. Excited to , excited
1:09
to talk about some , uh, some golf, some Rapsodo
1:11
and everything in between. No, I
1:12
Appreciate it. I mean, so I'm
1:14
gonna tell you guys a story. So like, so Rap
1:17
Soto was like announced at the P g A
1:19
show, right? And so like Justin had
1:21
me, I was like the very first person on the
1:23
list that morning. I like, 'cause he got me. He's
1:25
like , I'll get you in Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Dude,
1:28
I freaking ran over there. We shot a video in
1:30
like, I don't know, like seven minutes
1:33
probably. I made a bunch of B-roll. It's probably the worst video
1:35
ever shot in my entire life. And he's explained
1:37
how Rapsodo worked . Dude , that video blew
1:39
up. Like that video blew up.
1:42
And I knew at that point it was a busy day.
1:44
It was a crazy week.
1:45
It was, man, it was, no, I appreciate you being out
1:47
there. And yeah , the excitement was awesome. And then , uh, glad
1:49
we glad we could get you in , uh, as one of the
1:51
first people to test it out. 'cause
1:53
that was, yeah, that was news really . News had dropped. We had
1:56
hinted at it. You , you know, you had known about it beforehand,
1:58
but we had hinted at it to the public and, but
2:00
no one really knew what was coming. And , uh, so yeah,
2:02
it was an
2:03
Exciting, it look like couple days . I mean, I guess, yeah,
2:05
I mean, I guess Gulf Ity had dropped that YouTube
2:07
video that morning or something. So I ki
2:09
I , I remember seeing the vid , like the
2:11
image, but that's all I knew about it. I knew it was coming.
2:14
I was like, I can't wait to see this thing. This thing's
2:16
gonna be exciting. Let , let's let the audience tell . Let's more,
2:18
more about you first. Now you are a golf
2:20
pro. I always ask that question. And dude,
2:22
Justin really is a golf pro. Um , <laugh>
2:24
, so retired golf pro . I know that Retired
2:27
golf pro, but still, like, I always ask that
2:29
question to my audience and then they're
2:31
like, oh no, I suck. And I'm like, I know
2:34
Justin's good. So, so tell
2:36
me, so where did you grow up then?
2:37
Yeah, so I grew up in St. Louis, where , where
2:40
, uh, our rep Soto US
2:42
headquarters is actually located. So it's
2:44
great for me, but grew up in St. Louis, went
2:46
to Wake Forest University in North
2:48
Carolina. Was lucky to play on the golf team there under
2:51
, uh, coach , uh, Jerry Es
2:53
and then graduated in 2012.
2:56
And I wanted to , I wanted to be host hosting
2:59
or hoisting the trophies on the P g A tour. So I
3:01
chased that for a long time. Never made
3:03
it to the p g a tour, but played, you know, Korn Ferry
3:05
events, many tours up in Canada. I
3:09
played in anything and everything I could find. Uh, just
3:11
wanted to compete and get better. And
3:13
then , um, was, I
3:16
have , uh, I'm married, I have a couple kids and
3:18
wanted to, you know, loved golf and was
3:20
looking around in St. Louis to kind of see what
3:23
the, the next opportunity was is , you know, the
3:25
game. I wasn't playing well enough and , and being on
3:27
the road was tough and , uh, got connected
3:29
with art. Who was the GM or Cho everybody.
3:32
Yeah , he doesn't Art art's man
3:34
. He's so cool.
3:35
He is the man and he's, he's been in the
3:37
golf industry for a long time. Uh, used
3:39
to be a Titleist and uh , was connecting
3:42
with him and, you know, found out
3:44
about Rep Soto and I wanted to be, wanted to be a part of
3:46
it. So I've probably been at
3:48
Rep Soto for about three years now. Uh, the
3:50
first year was kind of just helping out with some
3:52
product testing and things like that. Then moved
3:54
into a full-time role with product development
3:57
and testing and then moved over
3:59
kind of to the marketing side, community management , uh,
4:01
over the last , uh, year. So it's been
4:03
a really exciting journey for me to be , uh,
4:06
really involved in M L M two Pro
4:08
and kind of its inception and us talking about it and listening
4:10
to , uh, consumers, what they
4:12
were wanting with M L M, how they were liking that
4:14
and one they wanted to , other features
4:17
they wanted to see , um, in it. And
4:19
kind of how we crafted that into the new product. So it's
4:21
been really cool , um, and an exciting
4:23
project. And now that it's finally in user's hands,
4:25
it's, it's been awesome to see the reception of it. Did
4:28
You grow up? Like were you really good? I
4:30
mean, when it's a , I mean, as a kid, would your dad was
4:32
a dad pro or what'd you get str did you get lessons
4:35
or what?
4:36
Yeah, so my dad, that was kind of the thing
4:38
we did together. So he loved golf.
4:40
Um, he was the club champion out at
4:42
, uh, Bel Rie Country Club one year, which has
4:45
hosted a bunch of majors. It's a tough golf course. And so
4:47
I grew up playing out there with him and , and
4:49
competing with him. And so always
4:51
loved the game, always loved sports. And
4:54
kind of in high school , uh, is
4:56
when I realized, you know, I'm not gonna make
4:58
it to the N B A and and golf is,
5:01
was something I love to do and I wanted to go, you
5:03
know, full in on that. So that's
5:05
when I started playing more, more events, but
5:07
very different route than a lot of kids nowadays
5:09
take with, you know, the A A G A and all these developmental
5:12
tours and or programs and,
5:14
you know, traveling the country. That's not something I really
5:16
did as a junior. I played a lot locally
5:18
and , and got better. And luckily locally
5:21
we had a ton of really good players.
5:23
Scott Langley was at my same age. He
5:25
won the NCAAs, played on the p g
5:28
a tour for a little bit Adam Long, I
5:30
grew up playing with , uh, a ton. Uh,
5:32
he went to Duke and then he's on the p g A tour now
5:34
he's, he's one out there. Um, and
5:36
a bunch of other guys that played D one
5:38
Golf. So we had, we had a ton of good competition
5:40
locally, which really benefited me coach
5:43
how at Wake Forest took
5:45
a chance on me. Definitely didn't have like the
5:47
resume of a lot of good players, but , um, I
5:50
had, you know, a decent resume. I had qualified for the Usam
5:52
as an 18 year old and , um, won
5:54
some, some local regional stuff , um, and
5:57
just try to continue to get better. So , um,
5:59
I wanted to go to Wake because I knew there were gonna be better players
6:02
there. Um, we , Simpson was there when
6:04
I was a , a freshman and um, obviously
6:06
he's had an, an unreal career and I
6:08
just wanted to surround myself with really good players. 'cause I
6:10
thought that was my best opportunity to get better is to
6:12
get pushed by by people like that.
6:15
So yeah, they're teammates. Yeah,
6:17
I wasn't, I was not like a standout junior
6:19
or anything by that measure.
6:21
How hard was it, like week ? Is
6:23
it hard to like try to get on a tour in
6:25
like your card ?
6:27
Yeah, it's, it's um, it's
6:30
amazing because like once college, it's
6:32
a little different now than when I graduated and
6:34
I wouldn't have qualified for these. But you know, now they have like
6:36
the P g a Tour U program I think. So there's
6:38
like certain exemptions guys could get,
6:40
but essentially it's like a clean slate, you
6:42
know? Uh, golf's great in the fact that
6:45
if you shoot the scores, you know, if you work
6:47
hard, shoot the numbers. Like they can't stop you, you
6:50
know, it's not like the N B A or the
6:52
N F L where they're, you know, evaluating your size
6:54
and how you throw the ball and things like that. Like you could
6:56
have funky action, you know, with your swing, but
6:59
if you go out there and shoot 66, like, no
7:02
, nobody cares. You know, that's, that's all <crosstalk> don't
7:04
Say anything. They're gonna be like, oh crap, they , that dude's
7:06
good.
7:06
It's getting the ball in the hole. So it , that's
7:08
, that's like the beautiful thing about golf , um,
7:11
is you , you, it's on you. You go do
7:13
it and shoot the scores you can get in. Um, what's
7:16
really difficult about Pro is like, it's
7:18
a really fine line between making it
7:21
and not. Um, and I think that's why you see
7:23
guys, you know, you hear these stories every year. Like
7:25
for instance, Eric Cole, I've played a
7:27
ton of golf with him. He is on the P G A tour this year, got
7:29
second at the Honda Classic, but
7:32
like, I think he's around my age, but
7:35
he was al always a really good player, but
7:37
like took a couple years off was teaching and
7:39
then, you know, kept, went back after it
7:41
and now he is on the P G A tour and having a, a
7:43
great season. So it's just a , you
7:45
know, a fine line. I don't know if he would say
7:47
his game got a whole lot better. I'm sure, I'm
7:49
sure it did in those years, but it's like playing well
7:51
at the right time and then when you, when you get that, it's
7:54
capitalizing on those moments. So it's,
7:56
it's tough man. There's so many good players out
7:59
there and everyone's, there's only so many spots
8:01
, um, to play for each week.
8:03
You know, there's 140 guys playing
8:05
each week, 200 some guys with
8:07
the , with tour cards and uh , there's
8:10
thousands and thousands of people that want to get out there and play.
8:12
So , um, I miss the competing
8:14
aspect of it. I don't miss the, the
8:17
travel and, and the , the grind,
8:18
Right? Yeah.
8:19
I like part of the grind of it, but it's, it's
8:22
, uh, it's tough, you know, playing
8:24
like 30 weeks outta the year and you don't
8:26
make any money until you get to the p g a tour. So,
8:29
you know, you're, so how
8:30
Do you do that? Like, if you, like you're not making any , did
8:32
you have a side job or is that like, or do you have a
8:34
sponsor or like how do you pay for
8:36
all , all these entry fees to get in all these tournaments?
8:39
Yeah, I had some side gigs and then you have people
8:41
that kind of believe in you and, and , and help
8:43
you out. Um, that, that
8:45
, uh, that I was fortunate to have and did
8:47
some fun , uh, fundraising to , to make it , make
8:50
it happen. So, yeah. But it's, it's,
8:52
it's a grind now , but now , yeah . You're only , now
8:54
I'm an amateur, so I, I, you know, re reapplied
8:57
to get my amateur status back and now, now
8:59
I'm just trying to live the MidAm life. And
9:01
You're probably like make , are you playing like anything on the weekends
9:03
and stuff, or not really? 'cause you're so busy with your family
9:05
and like with work. Yeah,
9:06
It's been a , it's, you know, work work , um,
9:08
has been awesome this year and we have a lot of exciting things
9:10
going on. So that, and then I've, I have three
9:13
boys and they love baseball. They do love golf
9:15
and , uh, managing that. But I try
9:17
to, you know, still compete when I can. I wanna play
9:20
in the, you know, the MidAm, the U S a , uh,
9:22
actually won , um, local qualifying
9:25
for the US Open recently. So I'm
9:27
onto , holy crap, I'm onto , uh, I'm
9:29
know if Oh , that's cool . Sectionals or final stage , uh,
9:32
June 5th. So I'm hoping I
9:34
can , uh, put together 36 good holes , uh,
9:37
and get and get through that. That's
9:38
Awesome. I didn't know that. That's a big deal, dude.
9:40
Yeah, I'm excited. It's
9:42
all that work with him . You know, the M LM two Pro, I
9:44
can see my, I got , I got the number .
9:46
I mean , if you guys see how good , how much he's training, just
9:48
watch the Rapsodo commercial. 'cause he is like
9:50
in IT training <laugh> , right?
9:52
That's right. I'm like , that's , that's coaching me up
9:54
and yeah,
9:55
I mean, you get the best, right? Then you're , you the
9:57
best you have to perform.
9:58
Exactly.
9:59
When, when did you come on at Rap Soto
10:01
? Like two years ago.
10:03
I think I've been full-time for two years,
10:05
but , um, I've, I feel like I've been helping in
10:07
some capacity with some of our projects
10:09
now for about three years. So it was just
10:11
Because you were working with Jake, weren't you?
10:13
Yeah, Jake and part of our product team.
10:15
So just, you know, we rigorously
10:17
test our devices, you know, daily that
10:20
a lot to pro . We do a lot of
10:22
testing and refinement and we're always, you know, working
10:24
on improvements for new things that
10:26
are coming out. So, you know, people will see new things
10:28
get released. Like we had our combines feature released
10:31
last, last August, last September, yeah,
10:33
Last I
10:34
Remember that. And we were , we've been working on that for a while
10:36
with , uh, Sasha McKenzie in terms of kind
10:38
of how we wanted to structure it and the data, the
10:40
scoring, you know, refining that. And um,
10:43
so we have a lot of projects going on in the background
10:45
that we're working on. Um, so features,
10:48
I'm trying
10:48
A part of
10:48
Those, a lot of features for the, for
10:51
the new unit, is that what you're talking about? Like just new
10:53
that's gonna be coming out or what?
10:55
Yeah, so features for the M L M or
10:57
the MLM two Pro. So M l M, you know
10:59
, even though we , we have a new product out, the MLM is
11:01
still a product that we're passionate about, it's
11:03
, uh, now it's 2
11:05
99 instead of 4 9 9. So , uh, insanely
11:08
good deal. Uh, and we're gonna , you know ,
11:10
A smoking deal
11:11
Still
11:11
Have , uh, you really can't get a unit for a better
11:13
price right now for under 300 bucks. Like
11:15
seriously, it , that's
11:16
Pretty crazy with video and data can't , it's nothing out there.
11:19
Can't
11:19
Think there's nothing. And I think that's one of the problems
11:21
I think fights go's having with the
11:23
, um, Evo. It's like, it's still 500
11:25
bucks. It's like, dude, you
11:28
know, the regular Evo , not the new Evo
11:30
plus, but like, you know, it's like you're
11:32
now $200 more than the rap soda
11:35
. I mean, you're a five-year-old unit or a
11:37
four year old unit, you should really be like, like there's
11:39
no one competing at you in that price point. Really. I
11:41
can think of $300
11:43
They're, they're doing really, I mean it's always , it's
11:45
been a product that, you know, the m l m we launched in 2019
11:48
and it's always had a , you know, a ton
11:50
of , uh, interest and success and uh,
11:52
that price point. You know, that's something as a company,
11:54
you know, we wanna make affordable, you
11:57
know, products for people that we, you know, really
11:59
high quality products, but definitely more
12:01
accessible. Um, that's how Rep Soto
12:03
was , you know, started , um, was our founder, who's
12:06
an engineer , um, was hitting balls
12:08
and, you know, he wanted to track his data and saw
12:11
anything that was out there was really, you know, unachievable
12:14
for a lot of people to afford. So that's,
12:16
that's really at the core of core of our company as well,
12:18
is we wanna have really high quality products,
12:20
but something that, you know, people can afford
12:23
and they're not taking out a , a mortgage to get Yeah,
12:26
A unit. Yeah. So right
12:28
now Rapsodo has two main products, right? They
12:30
have original Rapsodo and then the Rapsodo
12:32
Emblem two Pro. So original Soto is
12:35
2 99. And then I guess like
12:37
in case people don't understand like the difference between two
12:39
units , uh, the original Rapsodo
12:41
, how is it different than the new Rapsodo , the
12:44
Original rep Soto ? Um , when you buy it, it's
12:46
, it's a radar unit inside of it. So
12:49
it, you know, it flips up, it uses the radar, but
12:51
it takes also, you know, you put your phone or your iPad
12:53
on top of the unit and we utilize the camera
12:55
in that. So the original m l m has is radar
12:58
and camera based , which is really unique for a launch monitor
13:00
in general. Most are normally radar based
13:03
or camera based , but we actually had both
13:05
technologies incorporated , uh,
13:07
into the original one. So it gives you a
13:09
lot of metrics. You can see your swing automatically behind
13:12
it , um, and you get the shot trace. But
13:14
with that, there was other things that people really wanted
13:16
that, that the M L M doesn't have. So
13:19
a lot of people really wanted spin numbers. They
13:21
really wanted the ability to add another camera , um,
13:23
you know, a little higher angle. So we
13:26
really took all of that feedback into the MLM two
13:28
Pro. So that's why you kind of, when you see the MLM
13:30
two Pro, the cameras are integrated into
13:32
the unit itself, so that way you can
13:34
kind of take your tablet Android
13:37
, uh, that's a big differentiator is Android
13:39
is MLM two Pro , um, iOS
13:41
and Android is for M two Pro and the mlm
13:43
original MLM is only iOS. Um,
13:47
but you can remove your device, so it's not, you
13:49
know, you need to connect , um, your tablet
13:51
to the MLM two Pro, but you don't have
13:53
to have it behind you. We do have cool notches
13:55
in the tripod where you can sit it there if you'd like to, but
13:58
yeah ,
13:58
It's really cool feature. That's a cool, like , design feature,
14:01
But you can have it, you know, your buddy can hold it, you
14:03
can put it wherever you want. Um, so the
14:05
flexibility to be able to, to put that where everyone's
14:07
cool. Um, the unit itself's a little taller,
14:09
so that's a really unique design. Uh
14:11
, and that was done on purpose because we were trying to get
14:13
that camera angle angle as high as we could. 'cause the
14:16
m l M one , uh, yeah, was, it's just, you
14:18
know, we didn't want to make it really tall, obviously,
14:20
and kind of have it, you know, in the way we
14:22
want. We want the MLM two Pro, like once you're down , uh,
14:24
put it down and using it , um, you kind of
14:26
almost forget it's behind you, you know, you're interacting
14:29
with it and seeing your numbers and seeing your videos, but you
14:31
almost like, kind of forget the units , uh,
14:33
sitting there. Um , really sleek design.
14:35
So with that, we have two cameras integrated and
14:38
we're built , um, able to measure
14:40
the spin and spin axis with those R P T balls.
14:42
So , uh, that's been a really exciting thing,
14:44
especially for people at home that have, you know, limited ball
14:47
flight. We can give you the spin and spin axis , uh,
14:49
really accurately measured. Uh, and
14:51
then lastly, you have simulation. So we
14:54
have a cool three D range that you can set up, see
14:56
your, your numbers with your shot trace, but also
14:58
the ability to play 30,000 courses so,
15:00
you know, very high likelihood that you can play your
15:02
home course or you know, your bucket list course
15:04
right at your house. And all you really need
15:07
is , uh, the M lmm two pro, you
15:09
know, a club, a net and a mat. You can, you
15:11
make it as nice as you want, you can buy that, you
15:13
know, nice , uh, bay and have
15:15
the projector, or you can just have , um,
15:18
you know, a simple net and mat up , which is
15:20
great. So
15:21
I just realized I can like, pull up stuff on the
15:23
podcast. Huh ? Show it , show . I should just show pictures.
15:25
I was like, I should just really make this really fancy
15:27
this, this livestream. So yeah, like
15:30
, so this is the rap episode two pro , and it's
15:32
like, first of all, I think ergonomically, it looks really
15:34
select , like, I mean , it's cool , mean , it just looks,
15:36
It's super cool. Nothing else is out out there that looks like
15:38
it. So like when you see it, you're okay. That's the Rapsodo,
15:41
you know, you're not like trying to figure out what's what. Yeah,
15:44
I mean, it stands up probably what, like
15:46
two, two foot and a half, two feet, maybe
15:49
tops
15:50
And a half . I should know the answer to that, but I
15:52
don't remember, I don't remember how high it is
15:54
. It's, it's essentially, it's, I
15:56
would say like 18 inches maybe. Yeah,
15:58
18 inches
15:59
I would say too . So the tripod , uh, disconnects
16:01
from the unit itself, so it's really, you
16:03
know, portable, you could easily, I keep mine in
16:05
my golf bag , um, and it's
16:07
easy to <crosstalk> .
16:08
Yeah, that's one thing I really like. It's like the tripod feature.
16:10
I think it should be on the site . Like here's a ,
16:12
It's really compact . There you go. So you can kind of see it
16:14
and scale with a phone. So , um,
16:17
Yeah, I mean, so like, it's cool, like here's those notch
16:20
as he was talking about. So you can put your iPad,
16:22
like right here, let's say, and it would still
16:24
be there and it won't , but it won't get in the way of
16:26
the camera or any of the other systems . Yeah
16:28
. Which is really cool. So the
16:29
Trip tripod on one and then pop this off. Yeah,
16:31
you can pop it off you , the tripod on this one. So you
16:34
can actually put it either way. So if
16:36
there's one leg in front that's supposed to be the iPhone,
16:38
or you can actually turn the tripod around
16:40
and connect it that way so that you have the two legs
16:42
in the front. And that's meant for the iPad.
16:44
That's right . Yeah.
16:45
That's so cool. Yeah,
16:47
You guys really thought what you were doing, you
16:49
know, when you were designing this, like, not
16:51
just like the outside of the technology, but
16:54
just the way the unit sits because like
16:56
that's , I mean , that's that , I think that's kind of one of the problems
16:59
with a lot of the units that are out there right
17:01
now. Like, you know , um, like
17:03
the Mevo plus, it's like you always have to kind of get the angle
17:05
right and like, you know, do all that. I
17:07
know the new Mevo plus 2023 version doesn't
17:09
have that issue, but like, you know , you have to make sure it's
17:12
not like tilted or whatever. And here
17:14
you just set it down and you
17:16
just set up with your phone and then there's like
17:18
a, I guess explain to the
17:20
audience like how it works. There's really, there's two cameras on
17:22
this new system, right?
17:24
Exactly. Yeah. Just in terms of setup
17:26
, I want to touch on real quick. So it's, it's really
17:28
easy. You turn it on, you know, you connect it,
17:30
you put it down, you turn it on, connect it to your phone
17:32
or tablet, and when you start a practice
17:34
session, we'll actually kind of show this alignment tool.
17:36
So we'll show a line of your target line
17:39
and a box of where the ball goes. So we try to make
17:41
it , uh, as seamless as possible. But
17:43
yeah, so these two cameras in here , um,
17:45
we have one which is the shot vision camera that
17:48
you see on the right. And that's where you get , uh,
17:50
if you, you're familiar with the M L m, you'll kind
17:52
of, you'll , it'll look familiar to you, is you see
17:54
that, you know, down the line video with the shot
17:56
tracer, just like you, you know, saw watching
17:58
the P G A championship yesterday, you can see where
18:01
your ball's going with the metrics. Uh, that's
18:03
a two K camera. And then we have Impact
18:05
Vision, which is really maybe
18:07
my favorite feature of the whole unit. And I think it's
18:10
been a lot of people's , uh, you know, favorite,
18:12
one of their favorite features as well is because you can actually
18:15
see what's going on with the ball and club. So,
18:17
you know, we have this 240 frames per
18:19
second, and you can really see if you're hitting it on the heel,
18:22
on the toe, you know, if you're taking a big dipt
18:25
divot , um, you can see exactly what's
18:27
going on there. Um, so it's been a
18:29
really, been a really cool feature.
18:31
It was very exciting when the unit came out
18:33
because this techno , like , no one's done
18:35
this yet, right? Like the impact vision, like, no
18:37
, that's all new, that's all new technology. No
18:39
one's really shown it. Um, or even
18:41
had that ability. You can see Justin right here,
18:44
Eno , um, just break
18:45
Down the swamp . What do you think?
18:48
I think you're probably gonna win the US amateur. Um
18:50
,
18:50
Let's go.
18:52
There's not much my videos that'll be like <laugh> , you
18:54
know , d ing to the right. I
18:56
feel like the technology between the original Rapsodo and
18:58
the Rapsodo MLM two Pro is like jumped
19:00
a lot, right? I mean, just like in terms of the
19:03
cameras, the dual cameras, the,
19:05
the design and then the, you
19:07
know, even the , the spin technology, which no
19:09
one, let's talk about that for a second too. Before <CROSSTALK>
19:12
stuff like this is a big deal, right? The
19:14
spin. So can you talk to the audience about
19:16
like kind of how this works, what the R
19:18
P T ball is, that kind of thing?
19:20
Exactly. Yeah. So SPIN was one something
19:22
people had, you know, been asking about a ton is , I wanna
19:24
see my spin metrics, you know, I want to , you
19:26
know, see what my ball's doing. And inside it's
19:29
always a challenge for people because, you know,
19:31
you're , you're only hitting normally into a net about eight, 10
19:33
feet away. So that limited ball flight
19:35
, um, that's where, you know, our camera and radar
19:37
technology really helps. And with our
19:40
camera here to see these , uh, balls,
19:42
we can actually measure what's going on. So a
19:44
lot of people are like, you know, what are the dots about? Well,
19:47
that's, that's what the R P T T stands
19:49
for. So that's Rep Soto Precision Technology,
19:51
which has those really unique PA
19:53
patterns on there. Um, and we chose , uh,
19:55
Callaway for their precision and being able
19:57
to print these, because, you know, our
19:59
tolerance with those dots is about one
20:02
millimeter, I believe. So , um,
20:04
you know, really high tech printing , um,
20:07
onto those balls. It's a premium ball, it's
20:09
a cal , uh, Callaway Chrome soft X. Um,
20:12
and with that, we're able to tr uh , capture the
20:14
spin and spin axis. So when you kind of look in
20:16
that video, the impact vision video,
20:18
you know, you can see the ball rotate, and we're
20:20
looking at the cameras and tracking , uh, how that
20:23
ball's moving through space , uh, so that we
20:25
can capture, you know, how much your ball is spinning and
20:27
how much it's curving.
20:28
These numbers are like dead accurate. I just wanna tell you
20:30
guys, like, I've compared this to like a
20:32
GC Quad and a GC three, and
20:35
like then spin numbers are like
20:37
super, super, super, super close, like
20:39
super close, like off by like less than
20:41
50, right? Which is crazy if you think
20:43
about it, because those are like, you know, GC
20:46
three is what, six grand and the DC
20:48
DC quad's like 15 and this is 7
20:51
6 99, right? Like, I mean, yeah , it's the
20:53
, it's amazing how direct
20:55
the spin rate is on this thing. It's
20:58
nuts. Um , we,
20:59
We have incredible, incredible engineers
21:01
and we're, we're really excited about , uh, about
21:03
the accuracy. So
21:04
That's a big feature, right? That wasn't on the original rap
21:06
photo . This is like they, when they came out, they came with full
21:08
guns blazing, right? 'cause they came out the double camera,
21:11
they came with their own special balls. And I guess kind
21:13
of talk about the app too. Like
21:15
can you explain like kind of the features of the app
21:17
and then what it kind of provides and that kind of thing?
21:20
Yeah, so currently they're , um, our
21:23
three play modes. So , uh,
21:25
when you go to play, you can either practice,
21:28
you can take a combine or you can go to simulation.
21:30
So if you think of practice, that's kind
21:32
of your, you know, hey, I'm gonna hit balls. I kinda wanna
21:34
look at my numbers. I wanna see all my swing videos. So
21:37
within practice, you'll automatically get , uh,
21:39
a replay of your swing if you want. Um,
21:41
you can always turn the replay off or kind
21:43
of just see the metrics if you want that as well. Um
21:46
, again, this is for phone
21:48
or tablet , uh, iOS and
21:50
Android. Um , I really prefer
21:52
the , the tablet just because there's a little bit more real estate
21:54
on the screen, so you can kind of see a little bit more.
21:56
But I use the phone all the time as well. Um,
22:00
and so in practice we have those 13 metrics, which
22:02
is carry distance, total distance, side
22:05
carry, club speed, ball
22:07
speed , uh, smash factor
22:09
, launch direction, launch
22:11
angle, descent angle, which
22:13
is a new metric for us. Uh, apex,
22:16
we also shot type , so we label 'em. So,
22:18
you know, if it's a fade versus a slice,
22:20
you'll see that in there. Um , and then we'll
22:23
get spin rate and spin access if you use the R
22:25
p t ball . So most likely you're
22:27
gonna only use the R P T balls , uh, inside, but
22:29
you definitely can use it in our outdoor mode.
22:32
Um , I, I've used them on the course a couple times to kind
22:34
to get numbers when I'm out there playing. Really?
22:36
Yeah. You use the R P T ball in the course, that's
22:39
Cool. Oh yeah. I mean, it's definitely not, you know , how,
22:41
how they were designed, but it's definitely something you can
22:43
do. Um,
22:43
Yeah, using outta the course, you're not using it out the range. Yeah
22:46
. Yeah .
22:47
It's , it's a , yeah, you're , you're not gonna, I don't envision you
22:49
, uh, buying some and sending 'em out there, but do
22:52
you
22:52
Hear crazy? Do you ever something so crazy? I
22:55
played this golf tournament like two weeks ago with True Links
22:57
Square , and I was out in the desert looking for my ball and
22:59
like, I literally found an R C T ball out
23:01
in the desert. Like someone was playing an R C T ball
23:04
at a golf course. Like I, I was
23:06
Like , it's cold . They probably didn't <laugh> , they probably not, didn't know
23:08
what it was or something.
23:09
I was, so I was like, oh my God. I put, I'm like, I
23:11
just want an R C T ball. Like, and you
23:13
guys don't know, it's like Titleless Ball, which is like
23:16
the com competitor ball to this for like,
23:18
other units. Really? Yeah . It's like, who would do that?
23:20
That that's like $75 a box. Like, it's
23:22
so expensive for those balls. I'm like, that's
23:24
that's a ballsy dude right there, man.
23:26
Yeah. It's confidence. It's confidence, but
23:28
it's
23:29
Not me. I wouldn't do that. I'm like , I'm
23:31
like a whole , I'm like trying to like, make sure I don't like
23:33
lose him . I'm like, okay, I'll , I'll
23:35
let you keep this ball, you know, if I go to someplace
23:38
and drop a ball off . But when did
23:40
the MLM two Pro launch?
23:42
So the P G A show, which was what,
23:44
February 1st, or end of end
23:46
of January, we kind of announced it. Yeah . Uh,
23:49
February 1st is when I went on pre-orders, and
23:51
then we actually had to shut down, or not shut
23:53
down, but we had to close pre-orders because the response
23:56
was, you know, so overwhelming, positive
23:58
, um, that , so how
23:59
Fast did you, so you opened up pre-orders. How fast did
24:01
you guys like sell out?
24:03
I think it was a week week . We kind of were getting, we
24:05
were getting so many units, we're like, all right , we're gonna, we're
24:07
gonna have to close this down , uh, for a little bit
24:10
that's pre-ordered. That's crazy. It was , it , you know,
24:12
it was , it's been an awesome response. Um, and
24:15
then , uh, you know, we've been really working
24:17
hard to have the, you know, enough inventory.
24:20
So , um, we've had one,
24:22
we had one drop , uh, about a month
24:24
ago since, and that's sold out in under a
24:27
minute , um, which was also like
24:29
mind blowing to us. Um, and
24:32
, uh, yeah, we should have, in the next, next
24:34
couple, next couple weeks, we'll have , uh, more
24:36
inventory available. And we have a lot of , a
24:38
lot of units coming. So , um, you
24:41
know, this summer, if you're, if you're looking to get one,
24:43
you're definitely gonna be , be able to,
24:45
That's what I'm been telling people. Like if you're, if you find
24:47
out about these launch monitors or simulators fricking
24:49
pre-order it, because like it's , you're not gonna just
24:52
get it, it's not gonna happen. Like, I
24:54
mean, I just at this
24:55
Price point too. Yeah, it's like, it's, it's a
24:57
ton of technology in there. And for 6
24:59
99, I think a lot of people, you know, over
25:01
the last couple years, I think you're gonna really see like the
25:04
home, you know, simulator market where
25:06
people building these, you know, setups at
25:08
their house and being able to play whenever they want is
25:10
gonna really grow. And so for something that's
25:12
this affordable and has this much technology and this
25:14
most accuracy, people are just, they're jumping on
25:16
it.
25:17
Yeah, I mean, I, I remember, 'cause I
25:19
got mine, when did I get mine? Like a probably
25:21
a week after a launch, like a real launch
25:24
and like, 'cause Justin sent me mine and
25:26
I was like, hell yeah dude, because nobody had it. There's
25:28
only about probably three other people on YouTube that had
25:30
it. Oh , my friend, my friend David in
25:32
Australia had it before I did. I was like , did
25:35
David get it? He's in freaking Australia. I
25:38
remember I was like, I was like tin around with him one day about it.
25:40
But , um, it was crazy. But
25:43
I think like, there's been a ton of response
25:45
to it, especially because that price point, I
25:47
mean, your direct competitor is the Garmin R 10 , right?
25:50
So I mean, and it's,
25:52
it's kind of cool because now before no
25:55
one had come out with a price, a similar price
25:57
unit. Everything came under that price point. But
25:59
now it's like, all right , similar price, more technology.
26:02
And the question really is, is what Garment gonna do about
26:04
it? Because I feel like, you know, you
26:06
can make a cheaper unit, not saying garment, but
26:08
anybody can make a cheaper unit under 500 bucks, let's
26:10
call it. But then the next, like
26:13
the tier system when it comes to launch monitors
26:15
and Rain , you know, is like under
26:18
500. There's only, what, two
26:20
between 500 and a thousand I
26:22
would say you guys in Garmin. And then it's
26:24
like the next tier up is, is over is
26:26
2000 plus, right? So it's like there's no, it's,
26:29
I think people, what I try to
26:31
do when I make my videos at least, 'cause I , you know, as
26:34
they show people like, look, you can compare a 600
26:36
unit to a $4,000 unit,
26:38
they're pretty much gonna give you the same numbers. So now
26:41
it's about features, right? And what are these features? What
26:43
do you want as a player? What can you afford
26:45
and what do you want? And I think one
26:48
thing, which is a big deal for the Rapsodo
26:51
is, which they did have in the original unit,
26:53
is now they're gonna have third party integration, right
26:55
? Yeah . And so let's talk about that a little bit
26:57
too, because let's a big deal 'cause everybody
27:00
kind of wants, so what, what's going on
27:02
with that?
27:03
Yeah, so awesome golf , uh, integration's
27:05
currently live. So that , that's a great platform. It looks great.
27:07
Yeah. If anyone's, by the way , it's a great platform.
27:09
If anyone's not familiar with it, definitely check it out. And
27:11
then , uh, E six we're , we're , we're working on
27:13
that. And that's gonna be here, be here soon.
27:16
Um, so I'm , I, I
27:19
can't, can't give you a specific date at this time, but it's
27:21
soon . You don't coming soon . It's coming soon. When
27:23
That happens, that's gonna be the , I think that's gonna be
27:25
the floodgate right there, because then it's like you can
27:27
go play all the E six courses.
27:30
No ,
27:30
Yeah,
27:31
E six's expensive, don't get me wrong. Um,
27:33
you get the free version
27:35
It'll come with Yeah , for iOS users, it'll
27:37
come with a few courses for free. Uh , if you kind
27:39
wanna test that out
27:40
And then yeah , like three or four or something and need range
27:42
too . But I mean, I
27:45
think like that's the thing too, because you guys came out with
27:47
a sim, like the old rap , so
27:49
didn't have the sim feature in it either, right?
27:51
It just had like the, all the other, you
27:53
know, practice features. But like now you
27:55
have simulator, so like the new rep Soto
27:58
has a sim built in sim , which is really cool.
28:01
Um, because I mean, really you're
28:03
thinking at that price point. You're getting straight outta the box.
28:05
You're gonna have a sim you could use, you have
28:07
a testing, you can practice your shots, you
28:10
have combines. I guess let's talk about combines a little bit. So I,
28:12
I was , I did that with my instructor the other couple
28:14
weeks ago. That was a lot of fun. It was actually
28:16
a lot of fun. Like we were doing it and I'm like, yeah , this is actually , I
28:18
was hitting , he was hitting all the shots. 'cause I'm like, let me, I
28:20
don't know , I'm wanting to make sure these are all good shots. So
28:22
I was like, all right , let's do it. But, you
28:25
know, it was a fun thing to do. And I think combines,
28:27
I know you guys had that with the original Rap Soto , but
28:30
I feel like combines makes
28:32
practice fun, if that makes sense. Not just
28:34
playing a game or something. But
28:36
It does, I mean it's, it's, it's the feature
28:38
that I probably use the most of the play settings.
28:41
Um, and my kids who are very little, you
28:43
know, my six year old loves to do it too. 'cause it's
28:45
a game, you know, when you're out on the , on
28:47
the range, like everyone loves hitting balls and
28:49
you know, chasing the numbers and trying what
28:51
they see. And then you kind of sometimes get to a point of like,
28:53
okay, how am I gonna get better? You know, or
28:56
I'm hitting it good today, like I wanna , you know, put it to the test.
28:58
So combines as I kind of, as I said
29:00
earlier, is something we developed with , uh, Sasha
29:02
McKenzie , um, and he used
29:04
over a thousand p g a tour shots, you know, 20
29:06
plus years of data he collected with people , uh,
29:09
to put together this test , um,
29:12
in collaboration with us. So it's a 24 shot
29:14
test. It takes about 15 minutes
29:17
to do. There are two approach targets
29:19
and then a driving target so we can
29:21
recommend distances for you. So over time, you
29:23
know, the more shots that we gather, we'll find holes
29:25
, um, you know, in your, in your
29:27
yards that we don't see you hit. So, you
29:29
know, Paul, if you're hitting a bunch of eight irons, 160
29:32
yards and then a bunch of seven irons, one 70, we'll
29:34
say, okay, he , Paul's not hitting a lot of 1
29:37
65 year old shots, so we're gonna suggest you practice 1
29:39
65. So Oh,
29:40
I know that , that's cool.
29:41
Yeah, so we'll, we'll we will recommend distances
29:43
or if, you know, if you're like, Hey, I actually just wanna
29:45
hit 120, you know, 180
29:48
as my two targets, you can enter those as well. So
29:50
, uh, it has a nice cadence to it too.
29:53
So you'll hit , um, two
29:55
shots in a row to your first target, two shots
29:57
in a row to your second target, and then you'll hit two driver
29:59
targets and you'll go through that rotation
30:02
four times. So you'll hit 24 shots each
30:04
, uh, eight shots each target. Um,
30:07
and at the end of that you'll get a score out
30:09
of a hundred , um, as well as a handicap
30:11
associated with that. So , um,
30:13
it's a really good way to kind of see where your game
30:15
stacks and also kind of like provide some
30:17
context to how you're hitting it. So in
30:19
the report after, you'll see, okay,
30:22
Paul, your, you know, average proximity from
30:24
120 yards was, you know, 20 feet.
30:27
Um, this is what your handicap level averages
30:29
from that distance. And then this is what a pro average is
30:31
. So you can kind of see how you stack up against your peers and
30:33
how you stack up against your pros. And
30:35
the example of I always use is
30:38
, uh, shout out to Brian Dietrich , um,
30:40
on our Rep Soto team. But every
30:42
time he takes a combine, he hits , uh,
30:44
his driver really, really well. So he is like
30:46
a , you know, a one or two handicap with his driver,
30:49
and then his irons are always about like
30:51
a 25 or 30 handicap. So he has
30:53
this huge disparity between his
30:56
game, but it's really easy to see
30:58
like, okay, if I wanna get better, I need to practice these
31:01
distances. You know, clearly if I go hit a hundred
31:03
more drivers, I'm not gonna, you know, shoot
31:05
lower scores at this point. 'cause that's a strength of his
31:07
. So it's a really good way to,
31:09
you know, understand strengths and weaknesses, but again,
31:11
like gamify your practice, make it
31:13
more fun. 'cause you're gonna get a score at the end of that
31:16
and then you're gonna want to go beat that score again.
31:18
Uh, at least I do. So , um, it's,
31:21
it's a really fun way to practice
31:22
When we did it, it's very high paced
31:24
, I guess you could say, where you're
31:27
not just sitting there hitting the same shot over and over again. Right,
31:29
right . And you're like, it's like changing. And
31:31
I think the one thing Garrett said to my instructor, he
31:33
was like, what's cool about it is that it
31:35
, it almost simulates you're actually playing a game.
31:38
Yeah . Like a game of golf, right? Like driver
31:41
approach wedge. Right. Or that's what we
31:43
were doing at least. Yeah. And it was like, you know , you do that three or
31:45
four times, like you just played round of golf really.
31:48
I mean we didn't put and all that other stuff. But still, it like
31:50
gives you that feeling where it's like, and then I
31:52
think the numbers that we were using off of were
31:55
not like your common number, right. For
31:57
your approach. Yeah , it was , it was like a hundred yards.
31:59
It was like, you know, whatever it was one 12
32:01
or whatever. Yeah . Some random number. It's
32:04
like, okay, I gotta really think about this shot. What
32:06
club do I use? Right? How do I
32:08
swing the club? And
32:10
It's great for somebody that like, sorry to
32:12
cut you off, but like, you know , somebody's like , I'm hitting a grade
32:14
on the range and I'm not taking it to the course.
32:16
And it's like, normally that kind of
32:18
person when I'm like talking to my friends is, well
32:21
like, what are you doing on the range? You know, are
32:23
you actually making your practice, you know, put
32:25
a little pressure on your practice? Are you picking specific
32:27
targets? Are you're just trying to hit shots that feel
32:29
good? 'cause when you get on the course, you gotta hit
32:31
it, you know, between the two bunk, the bunker
32:33
and the hazard. Or you gotta hit it on the green and,
32:36
and you know, this really as you
32:38
kind of show here, kind of puts , puts that pressure
32:40
on you while you're practicing. So
32:41
Yeah, so like, you know, it's like 50 yards and
32:44
then it's like he , you know, you kind of dial it in. It's like, oh,
32:46
what club do I use? Are you sandwich wedge ? Okay.
32:48
Was it full swing half ? Like, I don't know , it kind of made
32:50
it fun. I mean
32:52
, that's our red line. We did it ourselves, but like you can see we
32:55
kind of practice it. And what's kind of cool too is
32:57
look like even the red line, we were drawing the line,
33:00
you can see we are off center to the right. So
33:02
it's like, it does show you where you land.
33:05
And I think one of the tendencies that we kind of saw when
33:07
we did it just with Garrett that day was
33:09
like, some of the shots were going right. You know, just 'cause
33:11
he was just was happening. Yeah . So he did , you have to adjust
33:13
and you have to start, you know, and I think that's what
33:16
makes it really fun because you're
33:18
able to really like dial it in and
33:20
then also , um, you
33:22
get really excited when you hit the target. Yeah . Like
33:25
, oh yeah, fine . Like it's, I don't know , it's, I'm
33:28
being straight with you. Like, it was, it was a lot of fun.
33:30
And like, usually it's practicing's boring.
33:32
I mean, honestly, like you hit a bunch of shots, okay, what's
33:35
your average carry? Okay, great. But
33:37
like, is that gonna help you the next time you play?
33:39
Like not really. Um, so
33:42
I, I really think this is a cool feature that
33:44
you guys are, have incorporated into
33:46
the MLM two Pro. Yeah.
33:48
But , so it's, it's in the MLM one for anyone out there
33:50
, uh, it's an outdoor only
33:52
mode with the MLM one , uh, but the
33:54
MLM two, it's indoor and outdoor. So you
33:57
can do this one with MLM two Pro in your garage
33:59
or you can do it at the range.
34:00
I mean, I would assume like when coming out with
34:02
new units, like what
34:04
was the feedback from people who
34:06
got it? Like what was , what were they saying? Like was
34:09
there anything that needed to be like improved or
34:11
was there any issues or there have been update , I know there's been a
34:13
lot of updates lately, so I wanna kind of talk about that real fast.
34:16
Yeah, so I mean, first I think, you
34:18
know, people were just really excited. It was cool to
34:20
see everyone's, you know, set up . I'm jealous of a lot of
34:22
these people's, like backyard setups or indoor
34:24
setups. Uh, I kind of just throw a
34:26
net up in my backyard, but a lot of these people set
34:29
ups . I'm like , uh, might have to, to screenshot
34:31
these and show my wife step it up. Yeah, I
34:33
need to step it up. I don't know if I can get that passed , but we
34:35
can, we can try at least maybe.
34:37
Um , I tried it didn't work <laugh>,
34:40
But uh , the response has been been really
34:42
cool. Um, and we're always at Rep
34:44
, so working since to make improvements in terms of,
34:46
you know, if there's a bug that somebody sees, fixing
34:49
that as quickly as we can, but also
34:51
having like new, new features. So , um,
34:53
we came out with a new app last
34:55
week and a new firmware, so , um,
34:57
That's crazy. Like it's only been out for two months. Like
34:59
there are , like, that's the one thing I wanna say is
35:01
that like, rap so's on the ball. I
35:03
know people might have some connectivity issues. A lot of people were
35:06
saying that I didn't really have that too often.
35:09
Um, but like Rap Soto's been on it.
35:11
Like they're always updating, like they're on
35:13
it, they're like acknowledging it. They're like, oh yeah, we're
35:15
fixing that. Here's next update. You're update it
35:17
. Like they , they didn't just make it and we're
35:19
like, oh yeah, well it's great. See ya . You know? Yeah
35:21
. No , I think it's very commendable. Like you
35:23
guys are like taking accountability
35:26
and like fixing it and like making it better
35:28
and they like this thing's legit. This thing's , you
35:30
guys are doing a really good job.
35:32
I appreciate it , Paul . Yeah, so some
35:34
of the things that people are curious, last week's
35:36
release really improved , uh, connectivity and we've
35:38
seen , uh, a huge improvement for, for
35:41
the users that, you know, were having a couple problems
35:43
with their , uh, connectivity , uh, that seems
35:45
resolved. Uh, all of 'em . And then
35:47
, uh, a lot of other like little features
35:49
that people were like, you know, we're always listening
35:51
to people and people write in, are you, we see 'em
35:54
on social like, hey, can you, you
35:56
know, one of 'em was for the iPhone or Android
35:58
phone. Uh, our Rapsodo range was
36:00
actually in portrait mode and you could only see three metrics.
36:02
And people were like, you know, we want this in
36:05
landscape so that we can see a little bit more metrics on phone
36:07
. Oh yeah , I remember that . And if we wanted to use our phone to
36:09
connect to a projector. So , uh, there's things like
36:11
that , um, that, you know, are,
36:14
are small things, but they make a big difference to a lot
36:16
of people. So , uh, we incorporated
36:18
landscape for Rep Soto Range. Um,
36:21
and so now you can see, you know, three metrics on there
36:23
. I do
36:23
Remember that . 13 . Yeah, I do
36:25
Remember that. So there's a lot of really cool stuff in there. And
36:27
as I said, we're always listening , uh, to,
36:30
to our, you know, the users and what they're, what
36:32
they're wanting to see. So
36:34
Do you guys deal with iPad too? Was it
36:36
the same thing or just un
36:37
Uh , so iPad. iPad always
36:39
had rep soda range in landscape. Um,
36:42
simulation currently is in simulations
36:45
in portrait currently. That's
36:46
What it was. That's the next thing . One's coming .
36:48
Yeah. That that'll be in landscape. We're definitely working
36:50
on that. Uh, if you're an Android user,
36:52
there is a workaround. If you put it in uh , d
36:54
e X mode , uh, it can go, it
36:56
can go to landscape . You know ,
36:57
We use the Android. Come on
36:59
<laugh> , Android. I'm just kidding . There's there's a lot
37:01
of Android people out there,
37:02
Paul. I know there's a ton of Android people out there.
37:04
I'm just teasing .
37:05
Uh, no , I'm just messing too. Um, but yeah,
37:07
so there they'll they'll be like , uh, you
37:09
know, a lot of improvements. I
37:12
don't wanna say improvements, but a lot of new things along the way,
37:14
so Well
37:14
No , you're fine tuning it. Like, people expect, like something
37:17
comes straight outta the gates and they have like no bugs. Like everything
37:19
has bugs. Like, you know, they give the best they possibly
37:21
can, but until a million people start using it, you
37:23
don't know. Right. Like how to make it better, how to
37:25
refine it, how to, you know, I
37:28
think like, you know, you guys have been on the ball
37:30
though and like making those changes quickly.
37:32
I mean, like I said, it's only been out for what,
37:35
six weeks? Seven weeks? I think it was the beginning
37:37
of April, right?
37:37
So yeah , we up from the end of March. Yeah. So they've been about almost
37:40
two months now, but yeah, six or seven
37:42
Weeks . Yeah. So I mean, that's crazy. They like, they're already, I mean,
37:44
no, no , not Disen garments. I like
37:46
garment a lot, but like, there's still issues with
37:48
the Garmin app that has not been fixed in a year.
37:50
Right. So it's like, it's like rap
37:53
. So has taking the time to really make this app really
37:55
good. Um, and then also, you
37:57
know, adding the new features like was, I don't
37:59
think did awesome golf work out of the gate. I don't
38:02
remember if it did or not. I don't think it did . Awesome.
38:04
Golf . Yeah . Awesome. Golf was ready at launch. Um,
38:06
I can remember E six , uh, is coming and
38:09
coming . We have a , we have a lot of new , uh, new
38:11
cool things in the background that , uh,
38:14
that'll be released this year.
38:16
Exciting. That's awesome.
38:17
We got , we got a
38:18
Lot, I think for that price point. I mean, if anybody's out there
38:20
like trying to figure out what unit to buy,
38:22
right? Like, let's see less than a thousand bucks
38:24
to spend on your home unit. That includes
38:27
buying a net. Like Theso is a perfect, perfect
38:29
price, right? Because you have the
38:31
sim feature rather gate you
38:33
have. So the
38:35
other thing about the subscription, because you gotta have a subscription
38:38
model, however, the first year is already incorporated
38:41
in the price. So like if people can make that choice, if
38:43
they want to continue with the subscription or not , um,
38:46
which
38:47
Yeah, first year you get everything you get, you
38:49
get everything,
38:50
You get everything. Like there's no like, oh, you only
38:52
get this now you gotta upgrade, you know, to
38:55
some new feature. There's no, there's
38:57
no , uh, upsell, right? It's just like you
38:59
get it
38:59
And it comes with the , the three RRP T balls.
39:01
You get a sleeve of R p t balls included. So
39:04
you get your spin out the gate, you get, you know , 3000
39:06
Courses right to go ready to go.
39:07
You get everything out the gate. Um, so,
39:10
and one thing I , i kind of talked about earlier, but wanted
39:12
to chime back in on is, as you said, like people
39:14
that's setting up at , you know, their home setups
39:17
is, what I love about ours is you can really make
39:19
it whatever your budget is and whatever your spatial
39:22
requirements are. So the unit sits
39:24
six and a half feet behind you and you need, you know, eight
39:26
feet of ball flights. So you need, you know, about 14 and a
39:28
half feet of room there to kind of hit
39:31
into a net for the unit to stand. But besides
39:33
that, like, you know, you need a mat
39:35
in a net is is all you need with your, your
39:37
iPhone. You can just use that. Or like, if you
39:39
want like, you know, a nicer setup , you can get a
39:41
projector and you can get an impact screen and you
39:44
can really customize, customize , uh, as
39:46
much as you want. So , um, whatever
39:49
your budget, <crosstalk> ,
39:50
How long does the battery last on the Rapsodo ? I
39:52
can't remember.
39:53
It's about four hours. Um, I've
39:56
used it a little longer, but a full charger will last you
39:58
four hours of use. Um, if you're inside
40:00
you can, you know, plug it in while you play and, and
40:02
keep that battery. Uh , it's
40:04
Another big feature like , you know,
40:06
a flight, like with the Ebo plus, you
40:08
couldn't do that. Like you couldn't plug it in and play
40:10
it.
40:11
Oh really?
40:12
You know , that like , you could do the workaround,
40:14
you can plug it into a battery, a portable
40:16
battery unit and then plug the battery into the wall,
40:18
which like, I dunno , I think you guys
40:20
like pre-thought this ahead, like the
40:22
guy who doesn't wanna spend a ton of money, wants
40:25
good data, wants to have fun, wants
40:27
to have third party functionality,
40:29
wants to play as a sim. Like
40:32
it's all within the same price point. Like you don't
40:34
have to, I'm saying like, this is, I
40:36
feel like you guys hit the sweet spot with this because
40:39
I think like, I mean I've tested tons
40:41
of units now and I mean the numbers are,
40:43
they're accurate as hell. So I
40:45
mean,
40:46
That's first
40:47
The
40:47
First, you know , issue if
40:49
You want . Yeah ,
40:50
It's gotta be accurate. Uh, you know, it's , it's
40:52
gotta be accurate. We , we , you know, we care a ton about
40:54
our accuracy. So otherwise what's,
40:56
you know, the other, the other use cases don't
40:58
matter as much if you don't trust what you're hitting . So
41:01
we have the accuracy there. The spin, the
41:03
simulation we touched about, and then there's
41:05
one other video aspect I didn't touch about. So
41:07
there's actually three ways to view your video. So
41:10
we have the shot vision camera, which is integrated in
41:12
there. So the down the line with the shot tracer,
41:14
we have the impact vision. So you can see what's
41:16
happening, you know, the , the moment of truth and
41:18
impact. Um , but there's also the ability
41:20
to turn on the front facing camera of
41:23
your , uh, tablet or phone. So
41:25
you can actually put it, you know, wherever you want to get a
41:27
third camera view. So most use
41:29
cases are people putting that, you know, right in
41:31
front of 'em so they can see the face on swing. Um
41:34
, but that way you can see the face on and , and
41:36
down the line , um, post-session
41:38
and really, you know, critique what's going
41:40
on with your swing or , and see the good shots,
41:42
the bad shots, what's happening. So , uh,
41:45
it's a really, really cool feature that people are also
41:47
really excited about, is just be able to see multiple angles
41:49
of their swing with the data.
41:50
You guys need to put my video on , uh, your
41:53
website. I see , uh, I
41:55
see
41:55
<crosstalk> . Let's get , let's get it up there.
41:57
There's like 15 you could choose from . I'm
41:59
kidding. <laugh> . I did
42:01
a video, I did a video. It was like the five,
42:03
right? So after the p g A show, I did another video
42:05
called like, the Five Reasons Why You Should Buy
42:07
The Rapsodo . And I just like took the , there was like right
42:10
after the show, it's got recap, like everything
42:12
you needed that blew up too. So there's
42:14
been a lot of excitement about this and I think that it
42:16
has a lot to do with the technology. I
42:18
think it has to do with your reputation. I think it has
42:20
to do with the price point. Yeah . Like , because
42:22
I think like it's not a huge
42:24
swing for somebody, you know what I mean? Like, it's
42:27
like you have this, it's gonna last you a couple years,
42:30
not longer, and you don't
42:32
have to break the bank to get good numbers.
42:34
I don't know . One thing I do like about it too is you can take
42:36
it to the range and not worry about it. You know
42:38
what I'm saying? Like, you can put it behind you and somebody
42:41
knocks it over. You're not like all freaking out, like you're scared.
42:43
Like they're gonna break it. It's like, it's , it's ,
42:45
It's , it's, it's , it's a sturdy well will mid unit
42:47
. And for the people that don't
42:50
know about Rev Soto , because I , you know, there are some
42:52
people that, that haven't heard of us, and I think the MLM
42:54
two Pro is new . You know, it's, we're , we've
42:56
been around , uh, for a long time. Um,
42:59
and we've, you know, this isn't our, our first unit
43:02
into the market. Uh, we make a , uh, baseball
43:04
products as well. So all three huge
43:06
In baseball,
43:07
Huge in baseball, all 30. Uh , m l
43:09
B teams use our products, you know, I
43:11
think three or 400 m l b players have their
43:14
own , uh, units that they use in the off
43:16
season and practice with. And then, you know, thousands of universities
43:18
for baseball and softball. So , um, we
43:21
, we , uh, we've been around in the, in the data data
43:24
business for a while .
43:26
And you also make the data, you make
43:28
the system for the Sky Track
43:31
, right? What's the deal with that? You guys make the technology
43:33
somewhere in it, the cameras or something? What?
43:36
So the Sky Track and Sky Track plus, yeah.
43:38
The , the hardware of the unit , um, are , are
43:41
powered by Rep Soto . It's crazy. And
43:43
then , uh, yeah, sky Trek
43:45
, uh, has, has great software as
43:47
well with their , uh, uh, their own flight
43:49
model. That's a great , it's , it's been a great partnership
43:51
and that's been a popular product as well.
43:53
Well, I'm excited to have you on
43:55
the show. I mean , we've , we've been , I'm known
43:57
for at least couple years and we've been talking a lot and
44:00
you know, like I said, the rap episode two Pro is
44:02
a real deal. Like it really is, if you
44:04
guys are looking for like an affordable launch monitor
44:07
that you all can also use as a simulator and
44:09
then at least have like more functionality,
44:12
like all things we just talked about today, like that's
44:14
a really good, it's a great product to get. So
44:16
, um, where can people find the
44:19
Rap Soto ? Like where's the best place to get it at?
44:21
Best place to go is rep soto.com . That's
44:24
, uh, you can sign up right now to be notified, notified
44:26
of one more inventory will come up. Make sure
44:28
to follow our socials to also kind be
44:31
in the know of what's happening in new features. Um,
44:33
but they , uh, will be available, you
44:35
know, wherever you also buy other golf products at
44:37
your local retailers.
44:38
Yeah, because they're like sold out you guys, like, for real.
44:41
It's like you need to, like, I , and , and that
44:44
just shows you that people want the unit. So
44:46
it's like if you're gonna, if you're thinking
44:48
about getting it now, like here it is. May right,
44:51
end of May. Like if you're thinking about getting a unit
44:53
this golf season, like either I
44:55
would pre-order it now so that at least on the waiting list
44:57
to know when it comes out. Because even
44:59
with third party retailers, they get very limited
45:02
supply, right? Like I'd get it from
45:04
the manufacturer if like there's me.
45:06
But , um, well
45:08
thank you for being on the show today. Um,
45:11
you guys, Rapsodo is a real deal. I've
45:14
done probably 25
45:16
videos on Rapsodo products over the last couple years, so
45:19
, um, I would highly recommend for
45:21
you guys definitely check out the Rapsodo EMM two Pro and
45:23
