Today's episode we talked about all things morning routines & what the audience's favorite things to do when they first wake up:

Lindsay & Kat drink water immediately! We love to hear this!
Nicolette drinks lemon & ginger water, feels like this is a great cleansing way to wake up!
Maureen (and myself) love a good hearty breakfast to wake us up in the morning! I'm a huge breakfast gal- I know a lot of people love waking up & working up on an empty stomach (fasted cardio??) but it is not my thing! Your girl loves all da food to fuel her workout!
Liz opens the blinds! I don't sleep with my blinds down because I'm a weirdo but we love this one!
Kelly crushes her skincare routine while dance partying to her girl power playlist and we are LIVING for this one! Also a huge shoutout to my girl Kelly for getting into Vermont's #1 nursing program! YGG you go girl!!
Anna, Melissa & Melissa (hi hello all the Melissa's!!) drink COFFEE! I'm not a huge coffee drinker (I love me some preworkout though)
Angela gets a gold star for her morning routine. I see her waking up at the ass crack of dawn every single day with her daily gratitude practice & meditations. Shoutout to Angela for being the BOSS we all wish we could be- or at least I wish I could be- don't want to speak for anyone here, especially my fellow night owls!

Speaking of gratitude practices, they are SO important! I've been following Rachel Hollis for YEARS and when she came out with her START TODAY journal I was all over that shit. Listing 5 things you're grateful for THAT day, is so so great for your mental health. So are positive affirmations. Look at yourself in the mirror every morning and SAY SOMETHING NICE TO YOURSELF.

YOU ARE A BOSS ASS BITCH AND YOU'RE GOING TO CRUSH THIS DAY. Do it, I triple dog dare you.

I'm not crushing my morning routine like Angela lately. I'm actually not crushing any kind of morning routine that doesn't look like rolling over, chugging water & scrolling TikTok. I'm not proud to admit it but I'm also not ashamed because this is the season of life I'm in right now and I won't apologize for it. Do I want to be better? Yes, of course. But I'm also in a season where I'm allowing myself the grace my body & soul need at this time, as life just hasn't been very easy.

I had an anxiety attack the other night. A full blown anxiety attack. I let the mean girl in my head get the best of me. She was asking my questions like, "what is wrong with you? What are you even doing with your life? Why do you keep making the same mistakes? Girl really, what is wrong with you." And i just had to positively self talk my way out it. Because that's what we do to grow. We overcome the shit the universe throws our way.

It's throwing it our way because it knows we can handle it. The universe isn't going to give you anything you can't deal with. I truly believe that. So we must continue to push against the resistance of life, push ourselves outside that comfort zone that we're so used to.

Don't settle. Keep going.
