The famous American pastime may never be the same. It’s no question that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the film industry. Theatres have closed down, release dates have been postponed, and big-budget movies are releasing directly to streaming services. Along with all of this change, movie-goers themselves have fallen into new habits with access to blockbuster movies and high-quality TV shows in the comfort of their homes, all for a monthly subscription (or multiple).

In this episode of Bench Players, the partners discuss the questions: Is the movie theatre experience dead? And will movie-goers go running back to the theatres when it’s safe to do so?
