Huddle is a production of the NFL in

0:07

partnership with iHeartRadio.

0:33

I can't painful jest,

0:35

sorry, well painful.

0:37

Too soon, it's too fresh.

0:39

It's too fresh, It's too soon.

0:41

And yet we have another episode of

0:43

the l Huddle podcast

0:45

where we amplify and highlight all

0:48

those great Latino voices that make

0:50

the NFL, the entertainment world

0:52

and beyond.

0:53

Go was good,

0:55

Familia.

0:56

This is the podcast Will Selve alongside

0:59

my Rmana, my Prima

1:04

Rui, who's been racking

1:06

up some serious frequent flyer miles, who went

1:08

from the Pro Bowl games yeah

1:10

again, the hotel points as well

1:13

to the super Bowl.

1:14

It has been a whirlwind for you.

1:16

Yeah, I don't even know.

1:17

I didn't realize we were halfway through February.

1:20

It was January the last

1:22

time I was in here, and when I left my house,

1:24

it's been it's.

1:26

Been a lot. Yeah, not gonna lie to you. I'm

1:28

shocked I have a voice today.

1:29

Yeah.

1:30

I spoke to no one ye Monday,

1:32

yes, yesterday, to the super Bowl.

1:35

But man, what a ride.

1:36

Yeah, we're so.

1:37

We're so much.

1:38

Seventh super Bowl too, right.

1:40

Yeah, if I'm counting right.

1:41

Minnesota was the very first one, like

1:43

I've covered them, but I've never before that wasn't

1:45

able to attend the

1:47

actual game. So it's a

1:50

tremendous, tremendous blessing to say

1:52

that I've been to that many, like

1:54

that's that's.

1:55

That's great, crazy ride.

1:56

I've been to two.

1:57

Yeah, super Bowl forty and forty one. So

2:00

the one in Detroit

2:04

when big storyline was Jerome.

2:06

Bettis and then for the

2:08

stadium was.

2:10

Well, that was no, that was like so at

2:12

Ford Field that was that was all good.

2:14

That was like like practically brand new.

2:18

Yeah, and then the other one was obviously

2:21

the Super Bowl that Peyton Manning

2:23

won with the Colts.

2:25

Nice and Devin Hester.

2:27

Who just conducted into the Pro Football

2:29

Hall of Fame, which is crazy. And of course Prince

2:32

playing the credible

2:34

Connor and I remember pouring

2:36

Rain. He's out there and he's

2:38

singing Purple Rain, and we

2:40

were there in our media sets.

2:44

And just saying, wow, this is amazing.

2:47

And this guy is going to get electrocuted

2:49

playing the electric guitar.

2:50

Not him, not him, not him,

2:52

not even.

2:53

Phased by it.

2:54

So either way, glad he had a chance

2:56

to experience the Super Bowl.

2:57

How did you think Las Vegas was as a host.

3:01

Look, if it's one thing Vegas knows how to do as host

3:03

a party. Okay, an

3:06

eight day party for us?

3:09

You know what I think it

3:11

was. It was our buddy Steve Travino

3:13

who who said it, like, you can't go to a

3:16

Latino party because it's like four in the

3:18

morning and it's still going. That's what it felt

3:20

like in Vegas except for eight Day

3:22

Street, and we weren't

3:24

even out on these streets like that, well, like really

3:27

weren't. It's just like the week

3:29

is so long, there's so much to do.

3:31

You have six, seven, eight events in a

3:33

day, plus work, and you

3:35

don't want to miss anything.

3:36

And it's like such a reunion of.

3:38

Everybody in media all together,

3:41

all of the players and just folks across

3:43

the landscape or there. There's celebrities

3:45

we saw, I saw our buddies.

3:48

And at the promos. I'll talk about

3:50

that party later.

3:50

That was a party, a dinner,

3:53

but it turned into a party because all the Latinos

3:55

that were there, it's it's just awesome,

3:57

Like, you know, you're not going to really sleep.

4:01

And I'm getting too.

4:02

Old for that.

4:03

All I know is that I get this text

4:06

message from.

4:08

From your buddy Al Madrigal,

4:11

who took a self that was.

4:13

With the aforementioned dinner that I was.

4:15

Talking about that was Saturday night,

4:17

right.

4:18

Yes, And it wasn't a dinner. It was literally called

4:20

Lasna And it's all put together

4:22

for Latinos in media

4:25

and entertainment and sports to just come together.

4:28

And Cristo Fernandez, and and

4:30

and Lex who's part of Neon sixteen.

4:32

He's huge in the music space.

4:35

The three of us, alongside

4:37

Marisa Solis, who of course is the NFL League

4:39

office, we were all hosting the evening.

4:41

I was just supposed to be going attending.

4:44

They're like, by

4:46

the way, you're not hosting, and I was like, cool, cool, cool, cool cool

4:48

cool sound great.

4:49

So was Al hosting this thing or I was

4:51

at.

4:52

I was attending, he was sitting right across your.

4:53

Room, or was he being

4:56

cool? He was?

4:57

He was the best.

4:58

And then he's like, and I don't know why we talked about

5:01

a bajillion times on this podcast,

5:03

yes, and it didn't click for until

5:05

he's like, well, my buddy, will I was.

5:07

Like, oh my god, yes, of course.

5:09

Mind you. I have to remind you guys, this was nowa

5:11

day seven in Vegas, so I barely

5:14

I barely.

5:14

Knew what day it was.

5:16

Is a forty eight hour thing, you

5:18

know, Mike.

5:19

Max thirty six.

5:21

So everybody hits.

5:22

It hard right when they get there.

5:24

Then they feel bad the pool

5:26

when they ramp it back up again, and

5:29

then you're righty Well.

5:30

First of all, it was ford in the forties.

5:32

Yeah, that's crazy, high thirties

5:35

raining for half the week.

5:36

Yeah, not what I think.

5:37

Somebody text me at some point in the week and said, I

5:39

hope you're not melting in the Vegas sun. I would

5:41

love to melt right now.

5:42

Yeah.

5:42

For two minutes, I was.

5:44

Because it's the desert, right, because the desert has extreame

5:46

heat or extreme.

5:47

Cold exactly freezing

5:50

cold.

5:51

But it was really, it was such a crick It was such

5:53

a kick to get that text.

5:55

Was like, yes, he's like we got to take a picture

5:57

of like immediately, you know.

5:58

It was then crazy.

5:59

So then I got the next day, so

6:01

Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, I get

6:03

another text from him, and he took

6:06

a selfie.

6:06

With my brother that was there.

6:10

Yes, two of my brothers were there, and

6:12

and Al took a photo with

6:14

one of them and it's like, you

6:19

know, well that's yeah, Al's

6:21

the best. So happy for his success and what he's

6:23

done. We do need to get him on the podcast.

6:25

It feels like we failed in that aspect.

6:28

Yeah no, but I fail.

6:29

I mean part of it is like it's like asking

6:31

him, Okay,

6:35

so now he's gotta gotta do it. Hopefully

6:37

he'll want to come on and talk football,

6:40

but something tells me he may not.

6:42

He may not want to do it right away. He's

6:45

space, he's gonna need.

6:47

His some healing.

6:49

Yeah, I

6:52

know.

6:52

Our buddy, my buddy Ben.

6:54

Yeah, upset, Yeah.

6:56

He was.

6:56

He was crying.

6:57

He was like, I just want to see them when

6:59

one it's like they have a one one

7:02

and he was feeling so good about

7:04

it. We were at a Super

7:06

Bowl party. Majority were rooting

7:08

for the forty nine ers.

7:09

Yeah.

7:10

Even had a quick cornhole

7:12

tournament and it was funny because he was going

7:14

up against my wife Chen,

7:17

just the two of them is like, everybody's

7:19

paired up, and he throws it up

7:21

real high. He turns around and he points

7:23

to her like this. It goes right

7:26

in the hole.

7:27

Didn't even know and everybody's like, oh,

7:29

okay, okay. So Ben was feeling himself going

7:32

he yeah, he was feeling.

7:33

Good, and then just you fast forward

7:36

a few hours later crying

7:38

and was not happy, and I

7:41

felt bad for him. I mean, that was that was very,

7:43

very rough.

7:44

You know.

7:44

It's one of those things we covered

7:47

the sport and we obviously

7:49

remain impartial.

7:50

But the whole reason why we got into this because we

7:52

were fans, of course, and there's a human element.

7:55

We've had friends of

7:57

the Pod, you know, be involved,

8:00

like like Kittle and Federico, you know, I

8:02

mean like we've had people on

8:04

and it just just

8:06

to see them control

8:09

that game for a majority of the time.

8:11

But then it was death by paper

8:13

cuts with so many mistakes

8:17

and them that

8:19

are never little things, no, well they

8:21

get amplified right in this kind of atmosphere.

8:24

And then the muffed punt as well,

8:26

and then the the blown.

8:28

Blocking assignment when Chris

8:30

Jones goes through and that's third

8:32

and four, and then they decide to kick

8:35

the field goal and overtime. There's ambiguity about

8:37

the overtime rules. Then abandoning

8:39

the run where it seemed like they were

8:42

gashing the Chiefs.

8:44

You can hear Tony Romo say it over and over again.

8:46

Get it back to McCaffrey. Stick to the run.

8:49

That's what works.

8:49

And I don't know he.

8:50

Was saying, oh, Jim, I would get into

8:53

McCaffrey.

8:53

I don't know what such about. I

8:56

like him in the booth.

8:57

I just predicted the

8:59

plays.

9:01

I think, I don't know.

9:02

I enjoy, you know, but I away

9:04

though he was, Yes, he was saying, what was correct

9:07

to give the ball to your

9:11

star playmaker in a in a

9:13

sea of stars, right, no question.

9:15

So I think that was just hard to watch.

9:18

And then to see that they

9:20

were blitzing more and to blitz

9:23

somebody like Patrick mahomes

9:25

the shark.

9:26

Phase him whatsoever. Quite frankly,

9:28

it does the opposite.

9:29

It's Patrick Mahons.

9:30

It only emboldened some more to get creative,

9:33

to go to his guys to do what he's got to do.

9:36

It's tough, especially when you going back

9:38

to the mistakes, the errors,

9:40

the small things you cannot we all

9:43

know, and this is proof proof of concept.

9:46

You can't give the chiefs a

9:48

centimeter nothing, a blade of

9:50

grass. They're going to exploit

9:52

it and they're going to make sure that they get the dub.

9:55

And it was it was, it was tough to watch because

9:58

all other things considered, the Niners

10:00

went out there, man, and they played

10:03

their hearts out. We knew it was going to to be physical. We

10:05

knew it was going to be a really gritty game. I was talking

10:07

to the guys at opening night. I was able to

10:10

co host the opening night ceremonies with our Scott Hansen

10:13

sit the Skulls, who, by the way, all our

10:15

Raiders fans Sibly is the in game host

10:17

for the Raiders throughout the year, so that was her home stage.

10:20

Nice.

10:20

She walked us through everything. She's amazing. It

10:22

was awesome, like and I remember

10:25

talking to the guys there. I saw Fred from

10:27

Afar because he was at a podium of course, so we're

10:29

roving around sort of

10:31

also trying to pull guys to go

10:33

up on the jumbo jumbo tron, just

10:36

like all the other members of the media from all over the

10:38

world there. So it's a really interesting night.

10:41

And I saw Fred from Afar. He was at a podium

10:43

and he just sort of like, hey, what's up in mind. I was talking

10:45

to our girl Sydney, who by the way, is

10:47

thirty seven weeks pregnant.

10:49

She yes, she is almost.

10:51

Baby Warner is almost here. Okay,

10:54

in a few weeks, God willing,

10:56

he will.

10:56

Do they know if it's going to be oh

10:59

wow, another in this

11:01

world.

11:02

You wonder if it's going to.

11:03

Be a jah.

11:05

They haven't said the name yet.

11:06

Yeah, we'll have to talk to her about it. But

11:08

I was like, wellma's Chuck, are you doing all right? Haven't

11:10

been able to talk to her since. I was like, I need to give him

11:12

a minute. I need to give him a minute because

11:14

I can't imagine what's going through his

11:16

mind.

11:17

But I remember watching him that night

11:19

come in all business, and that's the night

11:21

where they could.

11:22

Really let loose a little bit more, be a little bit

11:24

more chill, right, because they haven't really

11:26

gotten into the prep and the hardcore

11:28

stuff of the week yet. It's supposed to be the real celebratory

11:31

night for both of the teams to come together. And he

11:33

was just stoneface. I mean

11:35

not with us obviously, but like you could just

11:37

tell. And when you saw him on the sideline

11:39

Super Bowl Sunday. He

11:42

was there for that last Super.

11:43

Bowl that they lost against the Chiefs in Miami,

11:46

right, And so I.

11:47

Think of those guys and it's rough.

11:49

But then on the other side of stuff. I was talking to the Chiefs

11:51

players as well. Nicole Hartman, who came off the

11:53

stage immediately remembered me and was like, yeah, let's

11:55

go, let's chat. And he's

11:57

another younger guy in the in the

12:00

NFL. You has, yes, you

12:03

has been able to go to so many Super

12:05

Bowls now with the Chiefs, So it's been really

12:07

interesting just to see that trajectory

12:09

and then for Nicole to get the game

12:11

winner in overtime like his

12:13

arc as well, because he went through some struggles last season.

12:16

Yeah too, Remember he got really emotional missing

12:18

a play and things like that on the sideline.

12:20

So it's it's it's

12:22

always really for us.

12:23

It's so different because you start to build this rapport

12:26

from guys from all around the league, so

12:28

you start to root for them and

12:30

for their happiness and for their successes.

12:33

So it's I'm happy.

12:34

For the guys on the Chiefs who one, and then I'm heartbroken

12:37

for our guys on the Niners at loss, and

12:39

then the fan bases as well.

12:40

It's it gets tougher and tough for every year,

12:43

you know it does.

12:44

And now Shanahan is

12:48

getting that reputation right

12:50

that he can't win when they

12:52

are up ten points.

12:54

Yeah, because this isn't just about his trajectory on

12:56

the Niners.

12:57

Yeah.

12:57

Yeah, and last one also yeah,

13:00

and that's when he was the oppensive

13:02

coordinator. But he has his fingerprints on everything

13:05

with this organization, so you wonder what

13:08

they are going to do. It

13:10

feels like there is going to be some

13:12

sort of change, maybe on his coaching staff.

13:15

Yeah, I think that's I don't know what that's.

13:17

Going to be.

13:18

I don't know if it's going to be on the defensive

13:21

side of things.

13:21

It just seemed like.

13:22

With Steve Wilkes there

13:24

he was coming into a situation where the philosophies

13:27

and schemes were in place, and it's

13:29

different than when you go to

13:31

a new place and you're installing

13:34

your system, and it

13:36

just seemed to never quite get

13:39

going the way that they expected

13:41

it to, where he was up in the up

13:44

in the booth and then he decided

13:46

to be out on the field and.

13:48

Then they had the three game losing streak.

13:51

So I'm not saying that

13:54

change is going to happen on the defensive side. It

13:56

just feels like something has

13:58

to happen here. And it's just like with Shanahan.

14:01

He it's not

14:03

the end of the world, because there are Hall of Fame coaches

14:05

Don Coriel or the Chargers when it was

14:08

with San Diego and Marv Levy four

14:10

straight Super Bowls. With the Bills, they never

14:12

won it. But something

14:16

needs to change. And what that change

14:18

is, I'm not sure. I don't know

14:20

if it's just his.

14:21

Late game planning again,

14:24

like like a big.

14:25

We were talking about him jumping in to change the

14:27

call when he didn't like the look that he was getting

14:29

from the defense.

14:30

Yes, which was an interesting moment.

14:32

Yes, and that's calling the time

14:34

out.

14:35

Yeah, I mean that's what what gives

14:37

me, that just vibe

14:40

or or just feeling

14:42

right.

14:44

I mean, we know how much the organization and the

14:46

Yorks love Shanahan and moreover,

14:49

the Shanahan Lynch combination, and I

14:52

mean the players that they have brought

14:54

in and how they have rebuilt this team and

14:56

what they have established there.

14:58

But until you really get.

14:59

Over the hump and you bring home

15:01

another party, the

15:04

history books sort of eradicated that. Yeah.

15:07

And then in his peers, you

15:09

know like they

15:11

you know, like they've been able

15:13

to close it out and so this

15:16

is this is kind of the vexing problem.

15:18

There's a missing there's a missing link

15:20

there and they got to figure it out.

15:22

He's like a sea better yeah,

15:24

but great with the x's

15:26

and no's, but there

15:28

and that's the that's the part that he needs to eliminate.

15:32

So over on the Chiefs though, wow, we

15:36

have to give credit where credit is due,

15:38

because I remember in overtime the

15:40

moment that they got the ball, I was like, well, my friends.

15:43

It's over.

15:43

It's a rap.

15:44

That's it. That is a wrap.

15:46

And the Chiefs have done it once again, even

15:48

with all the drama and Kelsey

15:50

getting mad at Andy Reid and all

15:53

of that stuff, they

15:55

have cemented themselves as what

15:57

is a dynasty like? And poise

16:01

now because I think year after year and we talked

16:03

about missing links Over on the

16:05

Niner side, there's just something there that hasn't

16:08

quite come together in totality

16:10

the way they needed to close it out. But the Chiefs

16:12

have been able to make things happen even

16:14

with turnover, even with big name stars

16:17

leaving year after year. So

16:20

credit to Andy Reid, credit to the incredible

16:23

players that are on there, even the young guys who really

16:25

step it up.

16:27

Do you think that they'd be able to repeat this thing.

16:30

I think it's certainly possible. Yeah, And I do

16:32

think that he can win seven Super Bowls.

16:34

I do because this was the year

16:36

where they seemed the most quote

16:39

unquote vulner a back right, because

16:41

the offense wasn't as dynamic

16:43

as we've seen in other years. Kelsey

16:46

was largely ancient for

16:48

most of the season. And

16:51

to see what Andy Reid

16:54

has done with that offense. And

16:56

yet Patrick Mahomes he can run

16:58

the ball and you see like how

17:01

dangerous he is when he

17:03

does decide to run. He doesn't do it a lot,

17:05

but boy, when he does it, he's

17:07

intentional and he just makes

17:10

things just miserable for opposing

17:12

defenses. So what we are seeing

17:14

is greatness to to the to the

17:16

Shanahan side of it,

17:19

kind of just going back to it in the forty nine

17:21

ers, you can say, you know, listen,

17:24

you were beaten by Patrick

17:26

Mahomes twice. Who is being

17:29

compared to Tom It's

17:31

not right, So like

17:34

it's just some random guy like,

17:37

you know, no offense to like a Trent

17:39

Dilfer who won the Super Bowl for the.

17:41

Ravens, or you know what I mean.

17:43

Brad Johnson of the Box

17:47

this.

17:47

This is a legit future Hall of Famer

17:50

and he's not even thirty yet.

17:52

Yeah, so, uh no, what Camp

17:54

City has done is is incredibly

17:56

impressive. And I do think that,

18:00

you know, everybody else is unnotice

18:02

if they haven't been already. You know, are

18:05

you gotta step up, Josh Allen,

18:07

you gotta step up too.

18:08

You gotta step up? You know.

18:10

Now are our m v P which we will talk about

18:13

honors in a minute.

18:13

Yeah, yeah, Well when do we

18:15

want to touch upon? Shall we take a break?

18:18

Yeah?

18:19

So why don't we Why don't we reset a little bit

18:21

more of the Lhaddle podcast. By the way, my mom was

18:23

saying about Patrick Mahomes, I'll come with it, but Patrick

18:25

Holmes,

18:29

Mommy, Yeah, my mom's said either

18:32

way, more of the podcast. We'll get

18:34

into the NFL honors and all that good stuff. And

18:36

something that I did as well that

18:38

I don't think you're aware of it, that's

18:41

on the other side,

18:52

Hope.

18:53

Think that

19:08

was one of the great moments you saw that Chintz of pocket.

19:11

Yeah, straight to.

19:11

The end zone.

19:12

I mean I thought that if if

19:14

things were going the forty nine ers way and they

19:17

had one, I thought that Juan Jennings.

19:19

Was okay, go jas.

19:22

I don't think they would have given him.

19:23

But you don't take on the game.

19:26

Maybe you know he's pretty impactful, very

19:29

extremely Yeah, you listen.

19:31

And Christian maccafery when he was running the ball, he was

19:33

impactful. He was at NFL Honors

19:35

where you were, which, by the way, so.

19:37

I was watching you and

19:39

Colleen, both of you.

19:41

Besides being incredibly talented and knowing

19:43

the two of you, you guys look stunning.

19:45

Thank you, absolutely gorgeous,

19:48

both of you.

19:49

Can I tell you a really funny

19:51

story about Colleen

19:53

and I.

19:55

Honors.

19:56

I'm glad you thought we looked great, Thank you, Thank you

19:58

so much, because we almost ended up looking like twins.

20:01

Oh why because we pulled

20:03

dress the ex at same dress,

20:06

the black.

20:07

Dress that Colleen was rad you're saying, so there.

20:09

Were two of them or there was one and

20:11

you both were gred.

20:12

No, No, we each bought the same dress and

20:15

our girl, Cynthia Freelan was the one who saved

20:17

our butts.

20:17

Okay, so were you wearing

20:20

something from Cynthia Freeland No.

20:22

No, we found out. It was enough time.

20:24

We found out on Championship Sunday

20:27

when the lines were. I called Cynthia for

20:29

a wellness track to make sure she was okay watching her team,

20:31

and she was like, okay, just distract me for a minute.

20:33

It was halftime.

20:34

She's like, what are you wearing? Honors. I described to her the dress

20:37

and she like goes pale and

20:39

I was like, what's wrong and she's like, I'm pretty

20:41

sure that's the same dress Colleen bought.

20:43

And I was like, we're adding calling to this

20:45

this call right now, Call Colleen. Colleen

20:48

doesn't answer me. She calls me later

20:50

and she's like, you're kidding, You're

20:52

joking, mind you. This is now Sunday

20:54

before Pro Bowl starts. I'm leaving

20:57

Wednesday, so that gives me

20:59

two and a half days to find Again,

21:02

you.

21:02

Have to do because you have to do the pre plan.

21:04

We had brought this dress back in December, right

21:06

like duh, but like, what are the freaking

21:08

odds?

21:09

So the plan was, okay, we'll each

21:11

go effort.

21:12

Whoever finds an alternate first,

21:14

like, we'll just let the other one know, right, So we're both scrambling.

21:17

Thankfully, I like sent out the bat signal

21:20

Attilie Indigo was the dress

21:23

I ended up wearing. Shout out to them tremendous.

21:25

One of our stylists helped us out

21:28

and I was able to get the dress

21:30

within a day, Wow, within

21:32

a day. But yeah, if not, like

21:34

we might just have leaned into it like this is not the

21:36

official and spread

21:39

carpet.

21:39

Oh have

21:41

we not known? I think?

21:43

God, we're all friends and of course all we talked, but it was also

21:45

a reminder to all of us, like we need to

21:47

communicate better about these things.

21:49

And of course Colleen and I were paired together

21:52

on the red carpet, so it's not like, oh I was on

21:55

this side, like we were the tag team

21:57

that we were racking.

21:58

You knew there would be like a split screen will

22:02

laugh somewhere else.

22:04

So hard like we put it.

22:06

Thank god, we're like vast Sea's essentially

22:08

here. But yeah, just

22:11

for low key, it

22:13

almost had happened, like had we just shown

22:16

up like the same freaking dress?

22:18

So how was it?

22:19

The behind the scenes of that, it

22:22

was awesome.

22:22

This was the first time both Colleen

22:25

and I had worked the NFL Honors

22:27

red carpet show here for the network, so I

22:30

had worked fun fact, the

22:32

early years of my career started off in entertainment

22:34

as well.

22:35

So I've covered a ton of red carpets

22:37

before.

22:37

Colleen had never and I was like, girl, if anybody's

22:40

gonna be fine, it's you.

22:41

Like, don't you worry.

22:42

Well, if you've done.

22:43

Inside training camp, you can do a red

22:45

car but like, this is a non issue.

22:48

So we just had so much fun.

22:49

And our position on the red carpet was the very

22:51

last one before you entered

22:53

the theater.

22:54

We're literally at the theater doors, so

22:56

everyone had.

22:57

To go to pass behind front of There's

22:59

like no.

22:59

Choice, there's no choice.

23:00

So even if like we weren't interviewing someone, we got

23:02

to see everyone through.

23:05

All of the celebrities. Ali Reisman, a

23:08

big old medalist, came up. She's like, oh my god, I love your dress.

23:10

I was like, I love you, Ali Reisman,

23:13

Gymnasts USA.

23:15

Let's go unbelievable

23:17

Easter Ray, who by the way, I met

23:19

earlier in the week. So much happened, you guys, So

23:22

much happened this week. She looked

23:24

incredible. I mean there was just folks like floating

23:26

around, running around, and all of our media

23:29

friends of course too. We were really excited to see

23:31

and all of the players. By the way, Michael

23:33

Parsons was in chunklate.

23:35

You guys saw that, yes, and right

23:39

again? So what was his reason?

23:41

He said, comfort first, okay, sat comfort

23:43

first. His feet were hurting.

23:44

He's done a one different.

23:45

Cats a

23:49

lot because.

23:51

He just seems to embraced

23:53

who and.

23:54

What he is unapologetically his

23:57

own style and flair.

23:58

And I love it.

23:59

You know what I've noticed about Michael too.

24:01

Almost every time that I've seen him off the

24:03

field, he's eating a snack.

24:05

He's always got a snack.

24:06

What does he normally eat?

24:07

Last year at Radio Row he was eating I

24:09

think cheetos or something. So

24:12

I was like, you got a.

24:13

Little almost smoots right there.

24:15

Great. He's like, oh my bad.

24:17

But he's very but he's very down to earth, like

24:19

he's.

24:19

Very like I was hungry, Like I get

24:21

that I.

24:22

Have snacks in my purse at every turn, whether

24:24

it's got the so whatever.

24:26

And he's pretty tall guy.

24:27

Yeah, and so like in knowing like you're

24:30

you were taller than Colleen?

24:31

I am taller. Yes, many people are.

24:34

She's any baby, Yeah, a little

24:36

polly pocket. Love her so much, our

24:38

little figure skater. You guys knew she was a figure skater, right,

24:41

yes, yes, So

24:43

that was honors. Then

24:45

earlier in the week, myself

24:47

and Cam Jordan, our buddy Cam Cam's

24:49

Great Uh interviewed Reba

24:52

McIntyre and

24:55

Andre Day and Post Malone and

24:57

it was such a cool experience ahead

24:59

of them, you know, hitting the field for pregame

25:01

performances. What a great group, what

25:04

a I mean last year with Chris Tapleton and

25:06

SHIRLEYE Ralph and Babyface

25:08

was epic and like it's just every year we just

25:10

get really cool people on

25:13

the stage. But like Riba walked in and I was like, do I Curtsey,

25:15

Like I don't supposed to.

25:17

It's like royalty right correct.

25:19

It took everything in me and I won't sing it because I don't know if we have

25:21

the rights to this Randy from her from

25:23

her theme, so I'm trying to save you. It took

25:25

everything and me not to sing the song. But she could

25:27

not have been kinder. She wo and I noticed,

25:29

like the little things in folks, because this is how I conduct

25:32

myself and I know you do the same thing.

25:34

Well, she came in and the first people she went.

25:36

Through was to the crew and introduced herself

25:39

to the crew and shook everybody's hand like she's

25:41

just classy. She's just a class act. Every

25:43

one hundred day could not have been sweeter and more gorgeous.

25:46

And post Malone is a sweetheart.

25:48

So I was going to ask you, so, how was she?

25:50

Like so so nice?

25:51

It seems like he's very unassuming, is

25:54

that?

25:54

And like he's like a southern gentleman,

25:57

Like he was like, yes, ma'am, so nice to me. I

25:59

was one yes ma'am away from being like all right, now

26:02

that's enough with the mama, all right?

26:04

Not that all.

26:05

I mean he's done like he's like coversion,

26:08

he's done country. You can do anything

26:11

genre, So I mean that that guy's

26:14

top notch. And and he also

26:17

has done a collaboration

26:19

with Taylor Swift to like

26:21

on her new album that's going to be coming.

26:23

Out everywhere and rightfully so, And like

26:26

one thing we noticed is like, wow, he's really tall.

26:28

He's very tall, Yeah,

26:30

because he and Cam Jordan were chopping up. He's not as tall

26:33

as Cam because is gigantic, but he's he's

26:35

up there so like six one six too.

26:37

He's such like a big teddy bear.

26:39

Best talking to him and meeting him when we had

26:41

a Super Bowl show here.

26:43

You know, he's our fellow podcast coworker the

26:46

NFL.

26:46

Yeah, and he's always been, you know, friend

26:48

of NFL network and during

26:51

football and he.

26:51

Says, well that we need to cross promo because he's

26:54

he hosted by himself and he gets really lonely, and

26:56

I said, whenever.

26:59

Do it say a lot. Let's teach in some Spanish

27:02

too.

27:02

He's in you know, you know, he's spent

27:04

most of the summer with his family in Spain so that

27:07

the kids could learn a little bit of space.

27:08

Yeah, let's let's make this happen here.

27:11

Let us make this happen people.

27:12

One of the other highlights where and

27:15

you probably saw them on the red carpet to the

27:17

Latino Youth Honorees

27:20

and they.

27:20

Are tremendous kids.

27:22

I got to host a executive

27:24

session with them and they we brought in folks from the NFL

27:26

League office just to show them different pathways.

27:28

But one young man is on his way

27:30

waiting for his acceptance letter from MIT amazing.

27:33

His back up school is Stanford, Like, are you kidding

27:36

me with this? And the young ladies are they're all

27:38

most of them play either tackle or flag football

27:42

and they're just such an impressive group

27:44

of kids. I was like, look, I'm your

27:46

theena. So when you guys are running like Fortune

27:49

five hundred companies, like when

27:51

you're like the next commissioner of the league, Like, don't

27:53

forget about me, I just want an interview.

27:55

Hire me as a consultant. It's fine, We're

27:57

here to help.

28:00

Combo.

28:01

It's a package.

28:02

But they were phenomenal,

28:04

phenomenal And this is like a weird fun

28:06

fact. But along with flag

28:08

breakdancing is now also in the

28:11

Olympics for LA twenty eight.

28:13

I don't even know if I knew that.

28:14

I don't know if anyone is familiar, like my

28:16

breakdancing hip hop heads might know a

28:18

man by the name of Crazy Legs who's

28:20

from New York. He's Puerto

28:23

Rican. He one of like the biggest

28:26

names in breakdancing.

28:27

Did he start breakdancing?

28:29

No, I didn' start, but he was like one of like the big

28:31

names that came out of like the break dancing movement

28:33

and all of that stuff.

28:34

So he was there supporting the kids. He works a lot

28:36

with the Hispanic Heritage Fund, so it was really

28:38

cool. It gave me a lot of hope for the next generation.

28:41

I know, but are they gen z if

28:43

you're seventeen, now are you gen Z?

28:45

Or is that the next whatever?

28:46

I think they have to be the next.

28:49

It has to be the next iteration of whatever. Yeah whatever

28:51

twenty years or they might be at the cusp of

28:53

whatever. We give gen Z a lot of craps sometimes,

28:56

but man, they're really really That's.

28:58

Great And it was very fun seeing Diana

29:01

there Florida Zoo Oh yes.

29:03

Podcast and you know that she was doing

29:07

TV work for Unibcio.

29:08

Yeah, she was so she crushed

29:10

it.

29:10

Yeah, she was at Lassana and we had to

29:13

kept telling her go to bed,

29:15

yeah, because she had to be. Her call time was six diurn

29:17

in the morning.

29:18

It's amazing she don't want to leave. How her

29:20

life is transformed. Ye.

29:22

And she's become this role model.

29:24

And I was with her at Pro Bowl too, so she's another

29:26

one that did like Pro Bowl to Super Bowl.

29:28

Was the whole game, worked the game.

29:32

Yeah, she's crushing and I'm so proud of her, so

29:34

happy for her. And I'd be remissive to say

29:36

if not to mention a

29:39

rock star from the forty nine ers team, someone

29:41

most of you don't see but is absolutely

29:43

on the field the entire game Serena

29:45

Soriano. Yeah, is their senior producer

29:48

and cinematographer out there. I

29:50

got this great shot of her when I was rewatching the game

29:52

at home, like right before the coin toss.

29:54

She's out there with her big old camera just

29:57

like front and center, right next

29:59

to the lead referee, and I was like, look at.

30:00

Our girl, go embrace the grind.

30:02

And she's doing the.

30:03

Few latinas out they're doing cinematography

30:06

for the NFL and just crushing it behind

30:08

the scenes, so all of the content if you're if you're

30:10

a Niners fan, she plays a huge

30:13

role in what you see and a huge

30:15

role in really focusing

30:17

and lifting up the Latino fan base too.

30:19

So she was at last Ana too.

30:21

She got invited, as she should because she's.

30:24

Crushing except me.

30:25

I there.

30:27

We were actually talking about this Al and I that

30:29

we have to start a petition for.

30:31

Twenty twenty five, oh for me to

30:34

go to the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

30:36

Yeah.

30:36

Yeah, we're calling it the Will Selva Initiative working

30:39

title.

30:39

But is it gonna be like a GoFundMe page or

30:41

not a go.

30:42

Just a petition because we can get you there.

30:44

We got you there, We got you just

30:46

to make sure that you are present because this is

30:48

just unacceptable at this point.

30:50

Well, I would love to be there obviously,

30:52

and to hear all your experiences.

30:55

So cool, so proud of you. You look good

30:57

out there, just in your element. Interviewing

31:00

players obviously tell you the Pro Bowl games

31:02

too, So that

31:04

brings us, I think to.

31:08

And your is

31:10

what.

31:12

Is you can't let Latinos get together

31:14

too often because this is what happens.

31:18

Okay, here we go.

31:26

We love this.

31:28

Uh okay,

31:34

but Victor said, is we'll be here

31:36

all day one hundred percent?

31:37

Can't confirm.

31:38

At first, I didn't know if it was just he just

31:40

knew the two step in the end zone,

31:43

Victor cruise, you have.

31:44

To know more.

31:45

Absolutely, signature

31:47

rushed it.

31:48

I was very excited that. I love that for us.

31:50

Colleen was like, uh, you're teaching me immediately,

31:54

So she's in She's all in it.

31:56

But yeah, it was a party. It was a party,

31:58

it was a reunion.

32:00

The producers were all in from the Red

32:02

Carpet Show, Jeremy and and MOSSI said, what let's

32:04

go.

32:05

He's down.

32:05

I knew Victor wasn't gonna say no either. No, So

32:09

on one of the highlights.

32:10

Of my week for sure, for sure, for sure.

32:12

So my bunto is this.

32:15

So you know those Disney

32:17

commercials of you

32:21

just won the Super Bowl.

32:22

What are you going to do?

32:23

Oh?

32:23

Yes, I'm going to Disney World, going to

32:25

Disneyland. Well, they had never

32:27

done the commercial in Spanish,

32:30

so I had a chance to do the

32:32

first commercial in Spanish.

32:34

What I voiced?

32:36

Yeah, that's here, thank

32:40

you, thank you, everybody appreciate that. So

32:42

it aired in Uh, it's airing

32:44

in Mexico and it's airing on

32:47

all the Spanish channels in the US.

32:49

That's a massive wow.

32:52

Yeah.

32:52

I still can't believe it either. It is

32:54

an incredible honor. Just this

32:56

kid, Nico Roguan kid in San Francisco.

32:59

So you would be able to do that, Like I remember

33:01

watching it. I mean it's been going on for thirty seven

33:03

years on the English side, but

33:06

they've never done it on the Spanish side,

33:08

So this is the first year that they

33:10

did it. And I just remember when they reached out.

33:12

I honestly thought like it was like a

33:15

fishing scamming.

33:17

I was so

33:20

I was like block.

33:21

And so uh because it was the thing. It's

33:23

like how did they how did this come about.

33:25

Or whatever, and so they reached out.

33:27

Yeah, but but they they reached out and

33:30

I was just amazed and

33:33

did it. And I remember before I did the recording,

33:35

they said, hey, not to put any pressure on you, but this

33:37

is historic because you're the first one to

33:39

do it, and so

33:43

hopefully I'll get a chance to do

33:45

it for as long as Mark

33:47

Champion, who does it on the English side.

33:50

It just was an amazing experience.

33:52

They can just use that just under that check.

33:55

Yeah, well, I mean.

33:58

That's all, Well, that is incredible.

34:01

You kept that close to the beast too, because I have no

34:04

idea you'd we

34:06

can't really.

34:07

Yeah, but it's also too it's it's like it's tough.

34:09

It's like everybody's like you got to throw it out They

34:11

gotta throw it out there. It's like, you know, I

34:13

just like always sometimes feel a little weird if

34:15

I do or I don't, and it's like it's like this,

34:18

this is like a big.

34:19

Thing and it's for our

34:21

community. It's incredible.

34:24

So so I just felt like, gosh, hopefully

34:26

that's like another kind of

34:28

like a trail blazing thing that I'll

34:30

be able to So.

34:31

That's a big boom man. Wow, yeah,

34:34

I love it.

34:35

Thank you everybody, Thank you?

34:36

All right, and now we turned the page to

34:39

the Combine.

34:39

Yeah, just when you guys thought we were going to get

34:41

a break, no, correct, Hell no, you've

34:43

been following along.

34:44

The season doesn't.

34:45

End, No, no, because listen,

34:47

we've got free agency, crow

34:50

days, we gott Combine, we got

34:52

the draft, and who knows

34:54

what's going to happen with the

34:56

Bears and the first overall pick's

35:00

field. They supposedly

35:02

want a haul for that pick, so as

35:04

a as they should.

35:05

Yeah, so there's gonna be some drama around

35:07

that.

35:08

Someone will pay it.

35:09

Yeah, And like the Commanders now have Cliff

35:11

Kingsbury is the OC, so who

35:14

are they gonna pick? And then the Patriots

35:17

and those teams have a lot of cap

35:19

space. Yep, new coaches.

35:22

It's it's exciting. So there's plenty

35:25

plenty more.

35:26

At I love that, all right, my friends.

35:28

Well that that officially

35:30

35:32
