SHUT OUT: Closing the emotional and mental door to my heart, mind and soul to a specific person, thing and/or event with the fear that there will be a break.

SHUT DOWN: Completely closed off emotionally and mentally to everyone and everything, meeting and fulfilling “status quo.”

On this show I am going to discuss what happens when we shut down and shut out emotionally. I am going to do my best to be vulnerable and ignore the shame attached to having emotional range.Being vulnerable and still maintaining manhoodDefining our individual ideas of manhoodDispelling the myth that emotions are feminineEmbracing the whole-self and eliminating mental health & mental stressThis will also provide an opportunity to peek into the mind and heart of a man, especially when we’re in relationships. Ladies AND GENTS, sometimes we are NOT shut down but we are in fact “shutting you out” and I am going to talk about that, why we don’t feel safe to expose and express and how we don’t even feel safe, saying we don’t feel safe.

Society has always given men mixed messages (be strong, take care of your family, don’t show any emotions but be sensitive and communicate) and this could be why “we” give mixed messages at work, at home and with each other! So if society can’t make up its mind, we’ll make up our own.
