. I am so happy that you're here
3:31
and I hope that you're doing well , and
3:33
if not , that's okay too . Today
3:36
, I will be sharing what is
3:38
possibly slowing your progress down
3:40
. What is slowing you down to
3:43
make progress if you're not making any progress
3:45
and if maybe you're making some progress but
3:47
you're not moving at the pace that you would like , and
3:49
that is either in a goal in your life
3:52
or just in something in general that you know
3:54
you've been struggling with and you want to keep going
3:56
, but something is holding you back . I'll be sharing
3:58
that with you during today's episode
4:00
, but before I get into that , I want
4:02
to invite you to join me in my Facebook group . If
4:04
you haven't already , all you have to do is go
4:06
to bitlybitlycom so
4:11
that you can join us on Thursday
4:13
, february 1st at 12 pm
4:15
Eastern Standard Time , where I'll be
4:17
sharing with you and teaching you how
4:20
to throw away your to-do list , I
4:22
know , and optimize a
4:25
routine . It's going
4:27
to be very simple . I'm going to keep
4:29
it very simple and easy for
4:31
you to start implementing
4:33
a process for your routine
4:36
that you need to set in place , if you haven't done so already and
4:40
you guys , I already have a template for you
4:42
waiting over at the Facebook group in order
4:44
for you to get started . Now
4:47
. Today's episode was already
4:49
planned . The topic is already planned , but
4:51
it happened to be that last
4:53
week I had actually
4:55
scheduled this event on our Facebook
4:57
group to actually
5:00
be live on January 25th . As
5:02
you guys probably were there
5:04
, I probably joined right
5:06
for that event because a recording is going to
5:08
be available there too . If you aren't able to make it
5:10
at that time , I completely understand . But
5:13
here's the thing everything that
5:15
was technology that could have gone wrong went
5:18
wrong , and at first
5:20
I was like , okay , maybe this is just my
5:22
computer , my Facebook
5:24
, you know , haven't been on it too . It's
5:28
been a while that I was on actual Facebook
5:30
live , so , like , maybe it's just you
5:32
know me , let me restart my phone , let
5:35
me go on my computer
5:37
and do all the things that I know
5:39
I know how to do in order to get on live
5:41
. So , needless to say
5:43
, I'm like I need to really
5:46
share with you all not only
5:48
how I overcame
5:51
that , but also really
5:53
how I'm now preparing for
5:55
it not to happen again , because it was
5:57
all some admin
5:59
permission issue . My
6:02
zoom and my Facebook account
6:04
were really communicating how I was supposed
6:07
to , and that's what
6:09
I want to share with you today as the example on why
6:11
we're not making progress with
6:13
our goals or
6:15
maybe just with our day-to-day tasks
6:17
, because we don't do this one thing , and
6:20
it's evaluate . We
6:22
typically call this or
6:24
we have this term in the army , not
6:26
sure about the other services or the branches , but
6:29
it's called the after-action review . You
6:31
know , the after-action review can become a little
6:34
intense and detailed
6:36
when it comes to , obviously , having
6:39
an after-action review after a training event
6:41
, after maybe
6:44
something that we did as , even as
6:46
a recombinant , or something
6:49
that we took the time to do . But
6:51
now we need to evaluate , and so
6:53
, in order for us to
6:55
make progress or really get to our
6:57
goal and accomplish
7:00
the mission per se , we
7:02
have to evaluate . Think about
7:04
it for a moment . Why is it so important
7:06
that we do that carefully after
7:09
the fact ? Why do we take
7:11
not only sometimes
7:13
hours , but days to
7:16
fulfill this task
7:18
which is an after-action review ? It's
7:20
because it's important and it's helpful and it's beneficial
7:22
for all the leaders to really
7:24
examine themselves , examine and
7:26
evaluate what they did right
7:29
and what they did wrong , and how
7:31
they are going to improve
7:33
for the next time . How are they going
7:35
to make it even better Maybe
7:38
not necessarily perfect , but how are they going to do
7:40
it better ? And so there's
7:42
always an issue , and then there's a
7:44
recommendation , the solution or recommendation
7:47
that's provided during an after-action
7:50
review , and so it's going to be very
7:52
similar , based on whatever
7:54
your goal is or whatever you want
7:56
to make progress in . So , for example
7:58
, if yours is using weight , if
8:00
yours is writing
8:04
a paper , whatever
8:06
it may be for you
8:08
, specifically transitioning out
8:10
of the military , for me , I am doing
8:12
my , or I did my evaluation
8:14
after I completely failed
8:16
at the Facebook live last week
8:18
, and so , again , being
8:21
accountable is
8:23
very , very important when
8:26
it comes to us making progress . But
8:28
we don't want to be accountable . We don't
8:30
want to feel that negative emotion
8:33
of us not being
8:35
accountable at that time
8:37
or being able to fulfill
8:40
that task , that mission
8:42
, right . So for me , yes
8:44
, I was completely embarrassed , I felt
8:46
discouraged , I felt
8:48
disappointed in not
8:50
catching this beforehand and
8:53
I'm talking about my Facebook live , because it's
8:55
something that I know I should have caught beforehand
8:58
. But here's the thing things
9:00
happen . We can't have control over
9:02
all of the technology , especially technology
9:05
, but what we can do is make
9:07
it better . And so
9:09
, again , going back to this example , I
9:11
was all ready to go . I had done a checks
9:14
technology with Zoom
9:16
, with Facebook live , the streaming code , everything
9:19
that comes along with ensuring
9:21
that I could share my screen and that
9:24
everybody could see what I was doing
9:26
real time on my computer , because
9:28
I have this template ready
9:31
for everyone to start implementing
9:33
. Very simple , it's very generic
9:36
, but it's also very simple
9:38
, a great place for you to start to start
9:40
adding your weekly
9:42
routine items on there , and I break
9:45
it down into pretty
9:47
much a month and I break it down by week . And
9:50
so , in my mind , I had already
9:52
rehearsed what I was going to say . I
9:54
had rehearsed the walkthrough on my screen and
9:57
also doing it through Zoom . But here's
9:59
what I didn't do . I did so
10:01
many things right , but here's the one thing that I didn't do
10:03
I didn't confirm that
10:06
my actual coaching
10:08
account because I have my personal
10:10
profile account but also
10:12
the life coaching business
10:15
page wasn't connected
10:17
, permissions wise , through
10:20
Zoom and Facebook . So
10:22
anytime I tried to stream
10:24
directly from my
10:26
business page , it
10:28
would not allow me to come in , not
10:31
knowing that . I didn't even consider
10:33
to go to
10:36
that profile , that business page and do it
10:38
through there , because I was logged in
10:40
as my profile or
10:42
I was on my actual , just a Winnie
10:44
Ray profile . Tried it on my phone
10:46
, I'm like , okay , maybe it's just my computer
10:49
or my wifi is not strong enough because
10:51
it's not allowing me to broadcast , so
10:54
I give you permissions , whatever it may be . Went
10:57
to my phone , tried to go
10:59
live from my account my Winnie account
11:01
not the Winnie Life Coach
11:03
in one , but my Winnie account and it
11:05
still said the broadcast could not
11:07
take place at this moment . And
11:10
so here I am , hard
11:12
beating really fast . I have no idea what's going on
11:14
. I'm telling the group that I'm not
11:16
able to join . So all of these things
11:18
are going through my head and at the same
11:20
time , time is ticking because I don't
11:23
like to waste other people's time , and
11:25
so I said you know what ? What I'm going to do
11:27
now is go
11:29
to plan B , do the entire
11:32
training , the entire session
11:35
that I had planned . I will record
11:37
it on Zoom and then I will
11:39
post it on the Facebook group . So I
11:41
did it , I got done . I think it took
11:43
less than an hour , maybe
11:45
like 45 minutes , I can't even remember . I'm
11:48
like oh , this is gonna be great , submitted it
11:50
. And because I like to tell
11:52
people that you
11:54
have to go , you know , in
11:56
order , if you wanna skip through , you
11:58
know the 10 minutes of my intro and everything
12:01
else you wanna go directly to the template , I
12:03
wanted to say go to minute 12
12:06
and start taking notes
12:08
from there . So I did
12:10
that and what happened is , as soon
12:12
as I started sharing my screen , my
12:15
audio was completely lost . You
12:18
cannot hear anything . You can
12:20
only see what was going on , and
12:22
so , because of those reasons , I'm like you know what
12:24
, forget it , I'm gonna tell everyone
12:26
what happened . Here's the
12:29
template , here's the partial recording
12:31
. But I will also come
12:33
back next week and I will do this again because
12:36
I wanna do it in a way where it serves the
12:39
people in the group , but also , if they have any
12:41
questions , to be able to
12:43
come back and ask those questions , because that's the
12:45
whole point , right ? So for
12:47
me , I could have been completely in
12:49
my own feelings and just be like
12:51
okay , well , this was very embarrassing . This
12:54
was , you know , complete failure on my part
12:56
, because I wasn't thinking ahead
12:59
of the profiles and
13:01
all these other things . And so
13:03
, for you , I wanna ask you are
13:05
you still in your feelings if you
13:07
didn't lose that one pound that you intended ? Or
13:11
you forgot to set your alarm , or you
13:13
set your alarm but you didn't make it to the gym that
13:15
one day out of the week and that completely
13:18
just put you
13:20
at a standstill and you
13:22
didn't continue to do
13:24
what you know you needed to do go to the gym
13:26
, or continue to a meal plan
13:29
, or continue to type
13:31
up a one-page paper or however
13:33
many words that you needed . Have
13:36
you stopped your search or
13:38
your networking when
13:40
it comes to your transition , because you had one
13:43
bad encounter ? And so today
13:45
, I wanna offer you to take my example
13:47
, take your
13:49
example . Maybe from today alone , maybe
13:51
you forgot to do something and
13:54
that discouraged you . That emotion , that negative
13:56
emotion , discouraged you and
13:59
it's keeping you now either stuck
14:01
or at a standstill . And I wanna
14:03
offer you today that , whatever
14:05
it is that you , whatever
14:07
you're in , I wanna offer you that you are
14:09
able to continue to make progress
14:12
, no matter where you are . And
14:14
so for me , it was a matter of okay , I'm
14:17
feeling embarrassed , I'm feeling disappointed in myself
14:20
. What can I do better
14:22
the next time . So what worked , right
14:24
? What worked ? I already told you everything that
14:26
worked . You write it down , you type
14:29
it up whatever you wanna do . You put it in a voice
14:31
memo . This is what worked one , two
14:33
, three , four , five , six , seven , eight , nine , 10 . All these
14:35
three items worked . We're good there . What
14:38
didn't work and
14:40
that's the hard one , what didn't work ? You
14:43
didn't lose that pound because why you
14:45
missed three days of the gym . Maybe
14:47
your diet was not
14:49
where it needed to be or what
14:51
it needed to be . Maybe
14:53
you didn't have enough time to
14:55
focus , or maybe you weren't in the right
14:58
environment to focus , to write that paper . Maybe
15:01
you're not talking to the right people . Maybe
15:03
you weren't
15:06
able to communicate what you
15:08
needed effectively and
15:10
that could be in a relationship . Right ? Maybe you're like my relationships
15:13
are getting better . I can't solve
15:15
this . This is not getting any better . It's not going
15:17
anywhere . Maybe you're not asking the right questions
15:19
, right ? Maybe there are different questions
15:21
that you need to ask . Maybe there are different things that
15:23
you need to do or that you want to offer
15:26
others to do for you that is
15:28
going to help you keep
15:30
moving in that relationship or be entertained
15:33
, or whatever emotion . You need to be excited
15:35
, to be feel loved or whatever it may be . So
15:38
I want to ask you today to focus
15:40
on what did not go
15:42
right , what went wrong , what
15:45
went wrong . And so when I did that list and
15:47
I'm like , okay , this is what went wrong , I'm
15:50
going to ensure that I figure this out , I
15:53
am going to rehearse it on
15:55
there on the actual Facebook group
15:58
with my actual approved
16:00
permissions Facebook business
16:02
page , and I'm going to do that over
16:05
and over until I know that I am
16:07
good to go on that scenario
16:10
. What else
16:12
did I do ? What
16:15
else didn't work out ? What didn't work ? I
16:18
didn't have anything in place
16:20
to ensure that
16:22
it was going to be live and
16:24
share my screen . So what
16:27
can I do ? Differently ? Maybe is
16:29
send out a link , a
16:31
different link that ensures
16:33
that I'm able to share my screen . So
16:36
, again , things like that , instead of just
16:38
feeling stuck and getting into this whole
16:41
of everything just goes
16:43
wrong all the time and I
16:45
don't know what I'm doing . I'm
16:47
a failure , whatever it may be , whatever thoughts
16:49
you have about you , you know never going to lose way
16:51
. I'm never going to be able to change
16:53
my diet . I'm just going to be overweight
16:56
forever , I am not going
16:58
to find the love of my life , I am not
17:00
going to transition into a successful
17:02
career , whatever it may be , for you
17:04
. I want you to evaluate where
17:07
you are now . So what worked , what
17:09
didn't work , and now what are you
17:11
going to do differently ? So now
17:13
I am going to actually
17:15
go live 10 minutes
17:17
earlier and share my screen at
17:19
the same time , just to
17:21
ensure that I have those 10 minutes of buffer
17:24
, that I am able to use
17:26
that link . If not , I will
17:28
have a link already available and
17:30
send that to the group even ahead of time . So
17:33
you see how all these things starts happening
17:35
. Because I evaluated it , took
17:38
the time to evaluate beforehand . So
17:40
an example for you . Let's say you're losing weight
17:43
. Right , because I'm on the same wagon . I'm
17:45
on the same wagon , lady . I
17:48
am on the journey of losing weight , and that's
17:50
completely okay . Everyone
17:52
is on a journey of challenging
17:54
themselves , and that's what I want to offer you
17:56
, right ? So what can you do differently
17:59
? Maybe you said another alarm , maybe
18:01
you didn't set your alarm , or
18:03
you did set your alarm and you didn't wake up . You
18:05
were too tired . You're going to set two
18:07
alarms , or you're going
18:10
to have somebody come
18:12
knocking your door or whatever . Maybe
18:14
it's your spouse . You tell them to nudge you
18:16
or whatever it may be , or you
18:18
didn't make it at that time . What happens
18:20
when you don't make it at the time ? Are you going to
18:22
go during lunch ? Are you going to go to
18:25
the gym at another time ? Are you going
18:27
to change your diet and
18:29
maybe implement something completely new in
18:31
order for you to see that
18:33
there will be progress ? Because here
18:35
is the focus . The focus is progress
18:38
. The focus is how can you make progress
18:40
, not how many more pounds you need to
18:42
lose or how many
18:45
more inches that you need to lose . You
18:47
want to be able to focus
18:50
on the progress and , in order to do
18:52
that , you want to be able to evaluate
18:55
ahead of time . So again
18:57
, what went well , what went right , what
18:59
did you do right , what
19:01
you didn't do right , what went
19:04
wrong , what didn't work ? I
19:06
should say so , what worked , what didn't
19:08
work and what will you do differently ? So
19:10
what is it exactly that you're going
19:12
to do differently in order to
19:15
help you see if anything changes
19:17
? Because what happens if
19:19
we don't change anything
19:21
that we're doing ? We're constantly , you know
19:24
, eating the same diet . I'm eating a salad and , you
19:26
know , some chicken . I'm drinking coffee and I'm
19:28
eating a donut , and whatever it may be , my
19:31
body is not changing . Is it my
19:33
diet or is it something else ? Do I need
19:35
to explore something different ? 90%
19:38
of the time , it will be our diet , believe it or not . Maybe
19:40
you're drinking alcohol . Maybe you're drinking too much coffee
19:42
. Maybe you're drinking too much coffee with
19:44
too much sugar . That could
19:46
be it . Maybe it
19:49
could be just something as simple
19:51
as adjusting , but you won't
19:53
know until
19:55
you evaluate . So I want
19:57
to offer you today to evaluate wherever you are
20:01
in your journey , whatever goal you have , because
20:04
by that time that you listen to this episode , it'll be the last
20:06
day of January and I want to offer
20:08
you to start fresh on the first . And
20:11
what a better way to start fresh ? In a Facebook
20:14
group with other women that are going
20:16
to help you and encourage you and
20:18
help you stay accountable . So come join
20:20
us over at the Facebook group . I want to meet
20:22
with you and learn how I can better help
20:25
you as well with your time , with
20:27
your overall well-being , because
20:29
that's what it's all about . And you
20:31
can start also on Thursday at 12 pm , eastern
20:34
Standard Time , where I will give you the template . I will
20:36
give you a basic and simple template
20:38
for you to get started on this routine
20:40
. There's no more excuses
20:42
. I've asked so much to do . I
20:44
don't know where to start . Come join
20:46
me . I will be there . I will be answering
20:48
any questions that you have and also helping
20:51
you along the way with your
20:53
routine and also with the challenge
20:55
that you want to take on for February . It
20:57
could be using weight , it could be going to the gym
21:00
five days a week , it could be
21:02
anything that you're inspired to challenge
21:04
yourself with , because , again , this is why
21:07
I want to build a community and
21:09
I encourage you to be a part of any community
21:11
. It doesn't have to be this one . Find
21:13
a community . Find a community where
21:16
women are going to empower you and are
21:18
going to encourage you to keep going
21:20
to make progress , because that's what this
21:22
is all about making progress
21:24
. So what do
21:27
you need to evaluate in order
21:29
for you to start making progress ? All
21:31
right , I hope that this episode blesses you
21:33
and encourages you to continue
21:35
on your journey . All
21:37
right , have a beautiful rest of your week . Bye
21:39
.
