2 Samuel 7:11-16
God begins to establish patterns and parameters for His king over His people in His Land.
The story is found in the books Joshua through 1 Chronicles.
Through Joshua the people of God take possession of the promised land but soon become disobedient and struggle as a result. Eventually God's choice for king is anointed, that being king David. God gives an incredible promise to him which is similar and a continuation of the promise made to Abraham. The promised king coming from David would be the serpent crusher, rule under God and come from the tribe of Judah.
