I always thought it was odd I I didn't know anyone else with out any interest in aviation incidents. Thankfully this podcast exists because it's such a fascinating topic.
no diversions, no verbal ticks, amazing editing
I've spent way too many hours watching simulated airplane crashes because of this podcast. Take your five stars
Co host diverts with inane questions. Host has verbal tick "like I said before". Little thought to editing extremely technical narration for audio, just take time for an example: starts with UTC then states local. Just do local, it's only relevant time in terms of lighting, state of pilot etc. Then altitudes repeated ad nauseum and many other facts that on the page can be digested and referenced, but not in audio!
I'm a bit of an aviation fan, not as much as Gus though. I'm truly enjoying this; only a few episodes in, but I find it to be edifying, educational, and entertaining. The episodes are well researched, and Gus does a great job answering "common man" Chris's questions; asked for the sake of the audience who themselves can't.If you like flight, tragedy, or a behind the scenes view on airline operations, you'd probably enjoy this podcast.
Great explanations and insights. Simple explanation of often highly complex subject matter without being patronising. Highly recommended for all avgeeks!
Nice podcast, the presenters have a good dynamic, the stories are well researched and you can tell they are genuinely interested in the why and how of aeroplanes (and aeroplane accidents)
I can't say enough good things about this podcast. It's respectful when talking about tragedies. It takes complex technical aviation concepts and breaks them down to where normal person can understand them. It talks about root cause analysis and critical thinking skills - while also (when relevant) getting into the politics and power groups that can meddle with good science getting into crash reports.Somehow, Gus and Chris manage to tackle such weighty concepts and turn them into engaging tales that keep you hungry for more.
Stumbled upon this and loving it. I've worked as an avionics tech for many years and it good to hear quality details how how and why things happen.
