A man who needs no

0:02

introduction. The Black Information

0:04

Network is committed to bringing you up to the date

0:06

news stories that are relevant, informative,

0:08

and inspiring. And while news stories

0:11

are always being updated and others are breaking,

0:13

we understand that you need to be in the

0:15

know all week long. Welcome

0:18

to your midweek memo on the Black Information

0:21

Network Daily Podcast with Me your

0:23

host, Rams's job Okay,

0:29

first step. This comes from ABC

0:31

News two and ten to as many as three

0:33

in ten. Republican primary voters in Ohio

0:36

continue to resist Donald Trump's presidential

0:38

candidacy, and among those supporting

0:40

Nikki Haley, nearly half say they

0:43

backed Joe Biden in November, according to

0:45

preliminary exit poll results from

0:47

the Republican primary. While majorities

0:50

in preliminary exit poll data express

0:52

loyalty toward Trump, the extent

0:54

of Inner party and Trump Party

0:56

challenges may matter in what's

0:59

expected to be a close contest in November. Despite

1:01

his having sewn up the nomination, twenty

1:03

percent of Ohio's GOP primary voters

1:06

would be dissatisfied with Trump as a nominee.

1:08

Twenty two percent say he lacks the temperament

1:11

to serve effectively. In twenty eight

1:13

percent say he wouldn't be fit for office

1:15

if convicted of a crime. At

1:17

the end of the day, eighteen percent say they wouldn't

1:19

support Trump in November, with ten percent

1:21

of that number preferring Biden and eight

1:23

percent saying they wouldn't vote for either. Nationally,

1:26

six percent of Republicans voted for Biden

1:28

in twenty twenty. Non participation

1:31

by some Republicans would be a

1:33

further risk for Trump. So

1:37

around here we've discussed a

1:41

few times, certainly many

1:46

people not willing to

1:49

put their support behind Joe Biden, the

1:51

Democratic faithfuls. Obviously,

1:55

there's been a push in the Arab American

1:57

community to show support

2:00

and solidarity with the Palestinians

2:03

and their campaign, to

2:07

show how important

2:10

their numbers are and how

2:13

problematic it would be if they did not lend

2:15

their support to Joe Biden. Is

2:19

one example of this. In

2:21

addition to that, there's a lot of other things

2:23

that you know, as we've discussed on the

2:25

show, Joe Biden has fallen

2:27

short on in terms of his

2:30

promises and what he's been

2:32

able to deliver. And

2:34

the truth of the matter is that sure a lot

2:36

of people who tend to

2:38

vote Democrat have

2:40

now seen how

2:43

much power that office

2:45

holds on the other

2:47

side of a Trump presidency, and

2:50

to see Joe Biden not wielding that

2:52

power in the same way, with the same

2:54

aggressive intentionality,

2:58

it has put a lot of potential

3:00

voters off. Well, we've

3:03

discussed that time and again, and now we're discussing

3:06

that effectively, Donald Trump's

3:08

up against the same sort of problem

3:11

again with a not

3:13

insignificant number of people who

3:16

were originally backing Nicki Haley, half

3:19

of them up to half of them suggesting

3:22

that they would be willing to vote for Joe Biden

3:24

instead of Nicki Haley. Certainly

3:27

has a lot of Republicans

3:29

scratching their heads. And this is something that just

3:32

came out and we're looking at it and we're saying, okay,

3:34

well, they're dealing with something

3:37

very similar over there, so Bootruth

3:39

thought, and obviously we're going to keep watching that moving on.

3:43

Don't know if you heard about this, but news

3:46

broke over the past few days that Bruno

3:49

Mars had fifty million

3:51

dollars worth of gambling debt that he owed

3:53

to MGM. Grand Well, I'm

3:56

happy to support that. According

3:58

to BuzzFeed, MGM has issued a statement

4:01

stating that Bruno Mars does not have a gambling

4:03

debt at their casino. Quote. We're

4:06

proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one

4:08

of the world's most thrilling and dynamic performers.

4:10

From his shows at Dolbie Live at

4:12

Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring Lounge

4:14

at Blagio, Bruno's brand of entertainment attracts

4:17

visitors from around the globe. MGM

4:19

and Bruno's partnership is long standing

4:21

and rooted in mutual respect. Any

4:23

speculation otherwise is completely false.

4:26

He has no debt with MGM.

4:28

Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable

4:30

experiences for our guests unquote.

4:33

So that was

4:36

a sigh of relief. I think I heard someone

4:38

say online that he's cause playing

4:42

like a pimp from the seventies, a

4:44

black pimp from the staff, something like that. It was very funny

4:48

that he had He

4:52

had been arrested some time ago for

4:54

cocaine possession, and

4:58

he has obviously gambling debt, and

5:00

you know, obviously the way dresses and all this sort of stuff.

5:02

So people are trying to make fun of the situation.

5:05

But you know, since the more problematic

5:07

days when he was a younger artist and a

5:09

newer artist. He's

5:11

been, you know, just making history.

5:14

Obviously. You know q Ward has

5:17

spent some time on that tour

5:19

as well, and so I feel very

5:21

connected to Bruno Mars And to know

5:23

that MGM released a statement saying he does

5:26

not owe them fifty million dollars, doesn't own anything,

5:28

it's kind of a sigh of relief. And to all

5:30

the Bruno fans out there, it was just

5:33

I guess, another internet rumor. This

5:37

is your midweek memo on the Black Information

5:39

Network Daily Podcast with me your

5:41

host ramses Ja. All

5:45

right. Next up from The New York Times, Mayor

5:48

Eric Adams strenuously denied

5:50

sexually assaulting a colleague in nineteen ninety

5:52

three after asking her for a

5:54

sexual favor, saying on Tuesday

5:56

that the accusation was completely false.

5:59

Quote this not happen. It did not

6:01

happen, unquote, mister Adams said

6:03

in his first remarks since the detailed allegations

6:06

emerged and illegal claim filed

6:09

on Monday. Quote I don't recall

6:11

ever meeting this person during my time in

6:13

the police department. Unquote. The lawsuit

6:15

was filed in New York Supreme Court as part of the

6:17

state's Adult Survivors Act, which

6:20

provided a window for people to bring lawsuits

6:22

over sexual assaults that might have occurred years ago.

6:25

All right, buckle up, because it's about to get

6:29

very adult, all right. A woman claimed

6:31

that mister Adams requested oral sex from

6:33

her in exchange for her career

6:35

help when they worked together at New York

6:38

City's Transit Police Department. When she refused,

6:40

he forced her to touch his penis

6:42

and ejaculated on her, the complaints

6:45

said. At his weekly

6:47

news conference, mister Adams did not take

6:49

long to address the accusations, bringing them

6:51

up before being asked about them, he repeated

6:53

his motto quote stay focused, no

6:56

distractions, and grind quote,

6:58

and said he always cared read himself

7:01

with quote a level of dignity unquote

7:03

that New Yorkers expect. He

7:05

goes on to say, quote, I know how to live my life.

7:08

I have been an extremely respectable

7:10

public person unquote. So again,

7:16

uh, this has been a very

7:19

interesting time and an

7:21

interesting law and what has resulted

7:23

from it is a

7:26

lot of high profile individuals

7:29

now coming under scrutiny

7:32

for things that happened decades ago. And

7:37

it's interesting, you

7:39

know, obviously, if these

7:41

things did happen the way that they're

7:45

being discussed by the alleged victims,

7:48

then you know, then this law

7:50

is you know, making

7:53

right some of the wrongs that have occurred in the past,

7:55

and that is obviously a good thing. But

7:59

the interesting part is to see who it's

8:01

affecting, and

8:06

you know whether or not there's like money involved,

8:09

you know, settlements things like this. Also,

8:13

you know, it's just an interesting thing that

8:16

something like this would come to light after

8:19

so much time. And

8:24

the way memory works is

8:27

it's kind of an interesting thing. If someone came to

8:29

me and told me something from high school

8:32

about someone that I might have met.

8:34

You know, there's a good chance I might not remember

8:37

a good number of people that I spent four years

8:39

with in high school. You know, I'm in my forties

8:42

now. I

8:45

don't remember every day of my life. I don't remember

8:47

every instance of interacting

8:49

with someone. And you know, again

8:53

there are people that misremember things. People have

8:55

different emotional reactions

8:57

to things. And again

9:00

I'm not trying to say anything. If this actually

9:02

happened the way that it is, then the way that it stated

9:04

rather then naturally

9:07

this is something that it needs to

9:09

be remedied. But

9:14

Thirty years is a long time to prove

9:16

a k thirty one years in this case, it's a long time

9:18

to prove something. You

9:21

know, evidence typically doesn't last that long, and

9:23

if it's a matter of remembering it, then

9:26

you know who's to say what

9:29

the truth is. And it's just unfortunate

9:31

to see that this is kind of it

9:36

ended up having so many prominent

9:38

black figures in the crosshairs. Not

9:40

that that's the only group, but just

9:42

one of those things where it's

9:45

it's it's not a happy story at all.

9:47

But of course everyone

9:49

is innocent until proven guilty, and

9:51

so we are going to have to continue to watch

9:53

this story like the other stories. Finally,

9:57

for today, you know, this has been

9:59

making heav all the first part

10:01

of this week. So former President Donald Trump

10:03

has declared that there will be a blood bath

10:06

if he loses a twenty twenty four presidential election.

10:08

Trump made the comment on Saturday,

10:11

March sixteenth, during a rally held in Bandalia,

10:14

Ohio, to garner support for Republican Senate

10:17

candidate Bernie Moreno ahead

10:19

of the state's primary election. The

10:22

former president discussed the possibility of

10:24

an increasing trade war with China over auto

10:27

manufacturing before issuing the blood

10:29

bath warning quote,

10:31

if you're listening, President President g and

10:34

you and I are friends, but he understands

10:36

the way I deal those big monster

10:39

car manufacturing plans that you're building in

10:41

Mexico right now, you're going to

10:43

not hire Americans and you're going to sell the

10:45

cars to us. No, we're going

10:47

to put a one hundred percent tariff in

10:49

every single car that comes across the line, and

10:51

you're not going to be able to sell those cars if I

10:53

get elected. Unquote, this

10:55

is what Trump said at Saturday's rally.

10:58

Goes on to say, quote, now, if I don't

11:00

get elected, it's going to be a blood bath for the whole

11:03

that's going to be the least of it. Unquote.

11:07

He continues by saying, it's going to be

11:09

a blood bath for the country. That will be the least

11:11

of it. But they're not going

11:13

to sell those cars. They're building

11:15

massive factories. If this

11:17

election isn't one, I'm sure that you'll

11:19

never have another election in this country,

11:22

the former president added. A

11:25

Trump spokesperson responded to the former president's

11:27

common saying, quote, Biden's policies will create

11:29

an economic blood bath for the auto industry

11:31

and autoworkers unquote James

11:34

Singer, a spokesman or a president Joe

11:36

Biden's campaign, condemn Trump's

11:38

remarks. Quote this is who Donald

11:40

Trump is, a loser who gets beat

11:42

by over seven million votes, and then, instead

11:45

of appealing to a wider mainstream audience,

11:47

doubles down on his threats of political violence. He

11:50

goes on to say he wants another January

11:53

sixth, but the American people are going to give him another electoral

11:55

defeat this November because they continue to reject

11:57

his extremism, his affection for

11:59

violent and it's thirst for revenge.

12:03

So this one, I'll be honest.

12:05

I saw the headline. I

12:09

saw it all over the place. You know, Trump says

12:11

it's going to be a blood bath if he doesn't

12:13

win the next election. And

12:17

you know that obviously sounds like

12:19

that January sixth type of rhetoric

12:24

that you know, rallies his troops

12:26

to take action. But after

12:29

looking into it a bit more, I realized that,

12:31

you know, that was taken out of context. But

12:34

where we end up with

12:37

Donald Trump specifically, is

12:39

that he's already shown us who

12:41

he is. Sure, if

12:43

we take something like this out of context, we're thinking

12:45

Okay, if he doesn't get elected, it's another January

12:48

sixth, when the truth is he was talking about

12:50

the the auto

12:52

manufacturing industry and you know

12:54

business, that's what he was talking about in that moment.

12:57

Context matters, and obviously we have to be fair here

13:00

and tell the story

13:02

like it is. But you know, with the

13:04

history of Donald Trump, it

13:07

doesn't make me feel any better that this was the

13:11

headline was taken off context. I

13:14

fully believe that he's capable of exactly

13:18

what he's shown us of what he's capable

13:20

of, which is why I'm really not even mad at

13:24

you know, everyone kind of adjusting

13:26

the headlines to get the clicks, because he

13:28

just continues to give those headlines.

13:31

He's such an angry, fiery person,

13:33

an angry, fiery speaker. It's

13:36

all, you know, doom and gloom, and he plays

13:38

up to the fears of his base, and you

13:40

know, he makes

13:43

sure that that everyone at his rallies

13:45

is scared of everything, and

13:47

he also makes sure that they feel like

13:49

he's the only solution to their imaginary

13:52

fears. And so words

13:55

like a blood bath can easily

13:57

be taken out of context, or

14:00

the optics can be shifted

14:04

around what he's saying to

14:07

play into his strong man persona,

14:09

and so this is kind of more of the

14:11

same. Now. Granted again, this particular

14:14

one the headline, if you just read it by itself,

14:17

he wasn't talking about a January sixth,

14:20

sixth esque type

14:23

of reaction to him potentially losing

14:26

the election. But I don't think

14:28

we're too far away from that at any

14:30

point. With Donald Trump, you know,

14:32

he's always off script. He's always

14:34

again playing up to the fears of his base, and he's always

14:36

trying to suggest that somehow he's the solution all

14:39

the problems. Violence is a solution

14:41

to all the problems. Extremism is the solution

14:43

to all the problems. And so you

14:48

know full well how I feel about

14:51

this man, and you know I've made it very

14:53

clear. How about Joe Biden as well? And

14:56

if you're like me and you wish you had better options, then

14:59

you know we're two p in a pod. But this is what we

15:01

got. My job is to tell you the truth, and hopefully
