Bio:  In August of 2013, Melissa Weaver was diagnosed with breast cancer, and life as she knew it changed forever. She does not define her life by cancer. Instead, her purpose and identity lie in the idea that she has chosen, amongst the rubble and loss, to build a more purposeful life and become a source of inspiration for others.

Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has committed her work to helping others, including the facilitation of grief support groups, an inspirational speaker for TMI consulting, and adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University. She also enjoys providing volunteer work for national non-profits.
