The party engages Meunice, they draw out his intent and reasoning until the fox forces their hand threatening the same tear they house their own soul within... the Dragon's tear of the Vinculum spire. Meunice intends to start the world anew with the souls of the people they feel would make a kinda world and invites the party to add their own soul to the stock of worthy beings they have harvested all this time within the tear beside them.
