When it comes to health care, we're all about options - especially ones that put YOU in control. That's why we love that there's now a way to screen for HPV and STIs from the comfort of your own home.

Many people postpone or avoid getting STI screening because the process can be emotionally vulnerable (especially for trans folks and those who are survivors of sexual assault), uncomfortable (who likes having a cold speculum inside them?), or simply inconvenient.

That's where the Eve Kit comes in.

We had the pleasure of meeting the co-founder of Eve Medical, Jessica Ching, and testing their new personal personal health screening service before it was launched on March 9th, 2017.

Below you'll find a five minute YouTube video review that covers:

  1. Who can benefit from using the Eve Kit
  2. How the device is inserted (and why it matters that it's you putting it in)
  3. Kim's personal experience
  4. The follow-up process (including what happens if you get a positive result)
  5. How Eve Medical is working to make their kit financially accessible through their donation program

If you're like Amy and love to geek out on scientific studies, you can read more about the clinical research behind Eve here. There's also info on the Eve website about the difference between a Pap test and an HPV test (along with lots of other helpful FAQs).

Charting your cycle and noting unusual symptoms can also help with early detection of STIs. Download our free guide below on how to use your period tracking app to do more than just predict your period.

Kim & Amy Sedgwick love to discuss sex, periods, and all the other things we’re not supposed to talk about. The co-founders of Red Tent Sisters, they’ve been featured in every major Canadian news outlet and have become a trusted resource for people seeking natural (effective!) birth control, a more joyful sex life, and an empowered journey to motherhood
