Thomas Marshall was a 12-year-old boy who lived in a small village by the sea called Happisburgh in North East Norfolk, UK.
On Thursday 21st August 1997, the young boy left his home on his prized moutanin bike telling his parents he was travelling to nearby Eccles on Sea to visit his friend. However, when he didn't return home at the pre-arranged time his parents began to worry. They then found out that Thomas had not met his friend as he had said.
The next day his dismantled bike was found in one location and a few hours later his body was found over 50 miles away in a lay-by near Thetford forest.
A murder investigation was underway as police hunted for a sick, twisted child killer.
In this episode of Blood Runs Cold I will give you some information about Thomas, the type of boy he was and his interests and stuff, as well as give you all the details I could find about the investigation into his murder.
So, listen now to find out how a long search led to a single piece of vital evidence being found and helped to catch a paedophile who committed murder in an attempt to keep his secrets locked away.
As always, the cases I cover may include talk of subjects some may find upsetting, triggering, or even offensive. My aim is not to cause upset or offence so I would recommend proceeding with caution.
All the information I share in this episode has been found through extensive research and all the resources I used are available to view online.
