The Blue Jays' road trip had a promising start but came to a screeching halt in Kaufman Stadium. In what could have been a sweep in San Diego, was nonetheless a series win for the Blue Jays. Kansas City had the potential to be another series win or a 2-2 split. After taking the first game and a lead into the 7th inning of the second game. The Jays were poised for at least a split in Kansas. Then it fell apart, the Royals scored 3 unearned runs in the seventh. The final game ended as symbolically as the road trip. A rain-shortened game losing 2 to 1.
