Set after the Civil War, "Beloved" by Toni Morrison is a haunting tale of slavery and its devastating aftermath. It centers around Sethe, a woman who escaped slavery with her four children, and now lives in her own home, haunted by the ghost of her dead baby, whom she named Beloved. Ultimately, the community comes together to exorcise Beloved from their lives.
