Alexander III, the King of Macedonia and conqueror of the Persian Empire is considered one of the greatest military geniuses of all time. He was the inspiration for later conquerors such as Hannibal the Carthaginian, the Romans Pompey and Caesar, and Napoleon. In 334 BC at the age of twenty-two, he and his army crossed the Hellespont and embarked on a decade-long journey to conquer the Persian Empire. How many of the legends are true? Was Alexander one of the men to come closest to ruling the world? And did his mom really have a one night stand with Zeus himself?
