David is a media strategist for documentary films and indies, and talks about his trip to the SXSW festival in Austin, and how the films that he’s worked on recently have been directed by Asian Pacific filmmakers. He discusses BAD AXE, the documentary that won the Audience favourite award at SXSW, and how it chronicles the experience of a Cambodian-American family in rural Michigan.

David also talks about how, for him, life started at 32 and marvels at how the ‘Filipino boy from South Stockton, 95209’ built a business that allows him to be in the presence of filmmakers while their lives change.
