In this episode of 'LOST INTERVIEWS' Gary Michael Houston talks about his late great auntie Whitney Houston, Kanye West and conversing with Jay Z in central London with Fidel Channer.

Gary Michael Houston was born and raised in South Plainfield, New Jersey. His life has been like 24/7 music school, being out in the spotlight is in his blood. He comes from a long line of musicians. The most iconic being his beloved late great aunt, and mentor, pop-icon Whitney Houston.
 
Being the eldest grandson of gospel legend Cissy Houston, he gained an immense affinity for not only music but the music business itself at a very early and intimate age.
 
Having the the same roots of hip hop, from gospel to pop to his current genre, he has been exposed to the entertainment industry on a high level. “I’ve been making music since forever. I’ve watched people become successful and make mistakes…. I feel like I’m more seasoned for this type of game," says Houston, who writes and co-produces all of his own material both vocally and visually.
 
Gary uses his background as ammunition to succeed and to help others achieve their dreams. As he enters into his own adulthood and career, Gary chooses to use his talent and ambitions to spread the message that we are all self-defined and able to overcome anything, the true message of hip hop itself.
 
Since he was 4 years old, Gary has been diligently working on perfecting his passion. His surroundings and family have enabled him to become a complete, multifaceted performing artist. Over the years, Houston has released a number of recordings including 3 successful independent projects (Corruption 1-3) and one compilation mix tape. He has been featured in Jenesis Magazine (online) as one of the Top Three artists that are in "Popular Demand," Gary is constantly growing his fan-base with what he likes to call the "E-merican Experience."
 
In the UK, Gary has been twice featured in NME Magazine, and performed in front of a sell-out crowd at the prestigious Jazz Cafe in Camden, London.
 
He believes "you can be anything you want to be. I just want people to dare to be different. You can't let society define you. Most listeners will only listen to what is deemed as being mainstream and by mainstream I mean "acceptable." Hip-Hop is a culture, a lifestyle that has many forms and includes people from all walks of life. I want people who listen to my music to experience that first hand. I want to change lives…not just minds." Refusing to live up to anyone else’s image of what he “should be”, Houston continues to push his own personal limits daily and vows to never fall into the surroundings that just keep him comfortable nor will he forget his mission with his success.
 
Looking ahead to the future, Gary is gearing up for his latest project and first release in almost two years, The Collins LP. He hopes to continue expanding his reach at home and across the pond into Europe and Africa. Gary Michael Houston, is a gentleman to keep an eye and ear out for. He is destined for success not solely based on his heritage and talent, but also his work ethic and determination as he navigates the arena of music and leaves his imprint on society.
