I’d like to welcome you to my series of iTunes Picks. Every week (hopefully) I will post a review and a link to some cool piece of content that I found on iTunes or one of Apple’s other online stores. The content might be independent music; an app, song, or ebook that has to do with the causes I support, or something entirely different.
Today’s Pick is a cover of “Fireflies” by Mike Tompkins. Almost all of the accompaniment is done with the singer’s voice and boy, is it pretty amazing! I don’t care a whole lot for the original song by Owl City, but this version got me really interested. The music video is very creative with absolutely gorgeous cinematography. I completely respect this artist for all the hard work he must have put in. Layering your voice over and over to make something this intricate has got to be difficult to do. If you mess up the timing on one little thing, you could ruin the song! Props to this artist, and I hope he keeps going strong. You can download this wonderful piece of music at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fireflies/id372059603?uo=4&at=1l3vnyv
