In this episode, Amanda talks with Jennifer Adams, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#110390), specializing in trauma healing. Amanda and Jennifer dive deep into the topics of trauma healing, how trauma is stored in the body, creating boundaries, and self-love. No matter what kind of trauma we are healing, it is imperative to recognize how we are doing and seek out the right kind of support.

In addition to her work as a therapist, Jennifer is a Marketing Agency Director, helping her clients strengthen their social media game. She is also earning her Ph.D. in Trauma and Disaster Relief. Jennifer talks about how grateful she is to be studying a topic so relevant to world events given that we are experiencing a collective trauma during this pandemic.

She also stresses the importance of self-care, whether you have a mental diagnosis, or care for someone who does. Creating strict boundaries so that you don't feel triggered, surrounding yourself with people who understand and support you, and making self-love a priority, are all ways to heal and boost confidence.

Jennifer also shares about how she brings more mental health awareness to the fashion and beauty world via her @RunwayRedLA social media platform. She plans on writing a book on her own journey with Mental Health and opening a Trauma Healing Center in the San Fernando Valley area in less than 5 years!
