Amanda chats with political consultant, activist, and podcast host Aurea Bolanos Perea about her upbringing in Mexico, her experience adapting to life in the US, and her career in politics. Aurea works with democratic female political candidates and incumbents, working to get them elected in order to improve the lives of their community members. Aurea believes in the positive influence government can hold, and she is passionate about equity and women's rights. Aurea talks about the power people hold now and how we can all help our communities in this time, even if we are not politicians or political consultants. She expands on the influence small actions can make, like donating food or blood, or cutting a neighbor's grass when they can't get to it.    Aurea's commitment to fighting for equality can be seen in all areas of her work, and she is not afraid to challenge the status quo if it means improving the lives of others. She does not shy away from difficult or uncomfortable situations, and devotes her time and effort to opening doors for those who have been historically left out of the political sphere.   To learn more about Aurea's work, or listen to her podcast, Guerreras Podcast, visit her website or find her on Instagram.
