Some of the reasons why we do not ask for help include the following:

  • We don’t want to be considered weak
  • We have no one to rely on
  • We don’t want to be disappointed
  • We have no idea how to ask for help
  • We feel nobody can do it better than us

From the list above, what’s your excuse for not asking for help?

As minority women, we agree that it’s difficult to ask for help even from our partners. We struggle with carrying our load, while the easiest thing to do is to ask for a hand. But what if the person disappoints us? What if they don’t do as much as you expected, or the help got recorded in the running tab, and now you owe them one?

Asking for help is not easy, but it is necessary. It is a sign of strength, not weakness. It gives you room to focus on other important things like resting for your well-being.

Join us in this episode as we address the issue of asking for help as minority women and look out for a new segment, ‘fuck out of here’.
