We take a look at the life of cult leader Charles Manson. From being born to a teenage prostitute, to floating from various institutions, boys schools, and detention centers (escaping from all of them as well), his long time hobby of stealing cars, his early life in jail where he learned about two very crazy religions, to developing his own theory about an impending race war and how he would inherit the earth as the new leader; this story is a doozie.
Manson is most famous for starting the hippie cult known as The Family back in the late 1960’s. A master manipulator who could read people and get them to do things for him all while they saw him as their god and leader. The Family is most well known for the deaths of Sharon Tate and her friends, as well as another couple by the name of the LaBiancas. The gruesome murders soon became known simply as The Tate/LaBianca Murders and members of The Family were prosecuted.
Charles Manson was charged on 7 counts of first-degree murder when technically he didn’t actually kill anyone at all. He’s still serving out a life sentence in prison and is currently up for parole again until the age of 92. To this day he denies all involvement with the murders.
