If you feel like you don't 'fit in' with other videos you see on Social Media, this episode is for you. If you keep seeing a particular type of content every time you scroll, you may be thinking that this is the only type of content that gets views and these are the only accounts that can become successful through video.

What it comes down to is identifying YOUR definition of success. The only definition of success that should matter is yours. Let that sink in. If your definition of success looks different than something you're capable of, or even something you don't want for yourself, it's time to redefine your definition. It's time for a healthy refresh.

Your definition of success needs to be something you can attain, even when it comes to your content. If you've decided that successful video looks like something that's the opposite of you, then you've lost the game before you even tried to play.

Allow your definition of success to be something you can and want to achieve.

Now, maybe your definition of success doesn't fit in with what you're constantly bombarded with on social media. Maybe you keep seeing a particular 'type' of person every time you scroll, whether it's a particular age/ look/ hair style. And maybe you couldn't be further from that 'type' of person.

I want you to challenge that thought. I want you to think of the people you enjoy following and find the outlier to that 'type' of person. Someone who stands out from the perfectly polished feeds and is a real-life wonderfully relatable mess.

Then, go one level deeper. Find something those people have in common that isn't physical or appearance-based. Maybe it's that they're genuine. Maybe it's that they are always confident and are able to laugh at themselves. What qualities aside from just the physical stand-out?

Those are the qualities that should be reflected in your definition of success.

The truth is, there is ample room for content creators of all shapes and sizes. If you feel you don't see enough people that look like you on video, then you have an open opportunity to BE YOU on video!

I know it's intimidating, but people will remember you for what makes you stand out. I know one of the most commonly associated things with me is my red hair. Hopefully, it's red hair and Camera Brave, or something about Video (that's my goal!). When we can appreciate and embrace our eccentricities, we show up on video in an entirely different light.
