In our first episode of 2021, host Bobby Black speaks with one of the glass industry’s first and foremost bong makers,Jerome Baker Designs founder Jason Harris. Harris talks about his apprenticeship with legendary glassblower Bob Snodgrass in the 1990s, losing everything during the government’s Operation Pipe Dreams raids in 2003 and how his brand was able to rebound, as well as his latest projects—including his new glassblower competition show Operation Pipe Dreamers featuring Tommy Chong.

Once the largest glass manufacturing company in the world, Jerome Baker Designs is one of the oldest and most successful producers of functional glass. At their headquarters “The Dream Factory” in Las Vegas, they’ve produced custom glass pieces for numerous celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Santana, George Clinton, The Grateful Dead, Rita Marley, Phish, and Slayer. In 2018, they created the world’s largest bong (dubbed “Bongzilla”) for the Cannabition Museum. They’ve won numerous Cannabis Cups and other awards going as far back as 1996 and were named among the top 100 cannabis influencers of all time as part of the Cannabis Business Awards’ 420 Iconsevent on April 20, 2020.
