Begin with remembering who God is: “Our Father in heaven,hallowed be your name.”
There are Hebrew names for God in the Old Testament that havedeep meaning. They help define the immensity of who He is.
HE COVERS OUR SIN
Jehovah-Tsidkenu – He is our righteousness
Jehovah-M’Kaddesh – He sanctifies us, helps us grow
HIS SPIRIT LIVES IN US
Jehovah-Shalom – He is our peace
Jehovah-Shammah – He is always with us
HE HAS THE POWER TO HEAL US
Jehovah-Rophe – He is our healer
HE PROVIDES FOR OUR NEEDS
Jehovah-Jireh – His provisions will be seen
HE SECURES OUR PRESENT AND FUTURE
Jehovah-Nissi – He is our banner and goes before us
Jehovah-Rohi – He is our shepherd and guides us where to go
Pray for His will to be done: “Your kingdom come, your will bedone, on earth as it is in heaven.
Pray for yourself and your family.
Pray for our church. Leaders, volunteers, outreach.
Pray for our nation. Begin with city, state, then nation.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Pray for His provision: “Give us this day our daily bread”
Pray for forgiveness and the grace to forgive others: “and forgive us our debts, aswe also have forgiven our debtors.”
Pray for strength to overcome temptation: “And lead us not into temptation,but deliver us from evil.”
