As disruption rips through the world due to the pandemic, I sought student writer Chia Wee on his latest advice about responding to disruption, combating fears of missing out (FOMO), and his message to millennials. Chia Wee is an undergraduate student and his articles have been published on The Straits Times and CNA.

Chia Wee is a third-year student at the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He has contributed several articles to The Straits Times and CNA on broad social issues such as the fear of missing out, the age of disruption, and politics. He is also Director (Strategy) at Access, a social mobility non-profit organisation which seeks to provide career exposure opportunities to students from less-privileged backgrounds. Chia Wee is interested in a broad range of issues, as reflected in his articles; he is especially interested in how the COVID-19 pandemic affects these issues, as its disruptive effects continue to transform the way we live, work and play.
