Clarenda Stanley-Anderson of Green Heffa Farms is our guest on this week's Carolina Cannabis News podcast, though you might know her best as Farmer Cee.
In addition to being the first licensed Black female hemp farmer in North Carolina and a world traveler, thanks to her work for the Nature Conservancy, Stanley-Anderson is also the spokesperson for the 10th anniversary of Hemp History Week.
In this episode, we get real about what it's like to be a Black hemp farmer in a time when fewer than 2 percent of all farmers in the United States are African American. We also discuss hemp as a sustainable crop and bonus for the global environment, the total destruction of Stanley-Anderson's first hemp crop by Hurricane Florence and what the future holds for Green Heffa Farms.
P.S. Our apologies for skipping a week on the podcast; we experienced a technical glitch. However, the delay made this show all the more timely which is something we acknowledge in a brief editorial added at the top of the episode.
