Hey, I'm Ryan Reynolds. At Mint Mobile, we

0:03

like to do the opposite of what Big

0:05

Wireless does. They charge you a lot, we

0:07

charge you a little. So naturally, when they

0:09

announced they'd be raising their prices due to

0:11

inflation, we decided to deflate our prices due

0:13

to not hating you. That's right! We're cutting

0:15

the price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a

0:17

month to just $15 a month. Give

0:21

it a try at mintmobile.com. $45

0:25

up front for 3 months plus taxes and fees. Promote it for new

0:27

customers for a limited time. Unlimited more than 40GB per month. Mint Slows.

Their it's Michelle, Nora some host of a

0:34

podcast called Your Mom's Kitchen. When I travel,

0:36

I'm usually looking for a way to find

0:38

a taste of home when I'm not at

0:40

home. And one of the things I love

0:42

to do when I am and home is

0:44

entertain and Air Bnb allows me to do

0:46

that. When I was in California recently had

0:48

rented a house and have a great kitchen

0:51

and when we were sitting around the table

0:53

were thinking we're in someone elses house, someone

0:55

can be in all of our homes as

0:57

well. If you have a home but you're

0:59

not always at home, you have an Air

1:01

B. N. B your home might

1:03

be worth more than you

1:05

think. Find out how much

1:07

at Air bnb.com/host. Hello

1:52

2:08

2:10

have a ball and then also I just

2:12

wanted to flog the had am I got

2:14

a good few messages from people who enjoys

2:16

my football. that's my A D H D

2:18

hyper focused rant about beyond say in the

2:21

entertainment of about a web sites and which

2:23

files appropriate and I had mentioned on my

2:25

answer stories that I was hoping to do

2:27

a kind of. Bonus Bonus

2:29

Am outside of the regular Patron episodes that

2:31

I normally do another one about Beyond Say

2:33

and the new Coach Carter album Coach Carter

2:35

that is not what it's called Cabaret Carter

2:37

Coast Carter is a film sorry that You

2:39

Can Be Carter album and I still am

2:41

hoping to do that. I kind of when

2:43

I said that I had forgotten that there

2:46

was no that with bank holiday this week.

2:48

So whenever I will have four days to

2:50

do my work and seventy five I'm always

2:52

thought to the mass I didn't have time

2:54

to do to seek. I'm still hoping I

2:56

got to do it next week am. On

2:59

their yeah there's lots of of on the

3:01

patron of you fancy supporting the podcast you

3:03

feel like it's something that may be on

3:05

the a coffee for you my tech that

3:07

eight pitcher on.com for it Thus caught up

3:09

with the we've looked sorry in terms of

3:11

reducing the new that don't have a lot

3:13

of that. A pretty quiet week. I haven't

3:15

been doing a whole lot, I've just been

3:17

working on that mothering which is enough and

3:20

Sam I have been watching more of Big

3:22

Mood which I mentioned the other day that's

3:24

a new neglect Auckland show that on Channel

3:26

Four x it's all available on Channel four.com

3:28

at the moment where if you haven't you

3:30

know the front of for streaming service on

3:32

your Tv or weekly on Channel Four Am.

3:35

Nigga! imagine the other day that I just started

3:37

watching and I've watched a lot more of it

3:39

now and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It's. It's

3:41

great! It's spot lots of laughs

3:43

but. It's also got a bit of

3:45

nice and and am really am deals with

3:48

mental illness had on what I think his

3:50

grace always good to have different lives were

3:52

presented and tv and damn. It's smart

3:54

and funny and everything you want. From

3:57

a twenty four minutes tunnel for program.

3:59

So yes, Wholeheartedly recommend that name.

4:01

However, I really would like to just

4:03

get stuck in a to Today's episode

4:05

because. Obviously. As I

4:08

say to my guess at the Center for

4:10

Science is not a sporting podcasts but when

4:12

I met Hundred Terrell I just immediately would

4:14

like I have to get around the park

4:17

Osu I find are so impressive. We were

4:19

both on a panel together and for an

4:21

international Women's Day of and I and I

4:23

really didn't know a huge amount about her

4:26

ahead of instrument like researching her because I

4:28

was murdered, leading the panel and and her

4:30

athletic achievements. Are incredible. Like.

4:32

To See has won the all our

4:34

lands at for women senior football see

4:36

highs one the six Nations with the

4:38

Irish Women's Rugby team. See if someone

4:40

who's us has excelled at athletics am

4:42

in such an incredible way and we

4:44

do talk a bit better sporting clear

4:46

and but mainly kind of the impact

4:48

on it has had on her as

4:50

a person and I am I would

4:52

say to her becoming a person and

4:54

and kind of the role that sport

4:56

can play and young people's lives in

4:58

but also see someone who speaks really

5:00

openly and honestly about her. Experience of

5:02

mental illness ons and the challenges as she

5:05

faced arms. And. You

5:07

know them, that. Large.

5:09

Portion of her teens when see list.

5:12

Excelling a sport but really fighting at

5:14

a bottle in her mind. and she's

5:17

also just really articulate on and really

5:19

smart about like equality. And yeah, I

5:21

just think she's super impressive and I

5:23

know that you guys are going to

5:25

love her. So even if you're not

5:27

a sport person my friends, I am

5:29

begging you to secede say with this

5:31

episode because it's It's not about sport

5:34

per se, it's it's about being a

5:36

human being in the world earned and

5:38

the presses the button ourselves on that.

5:40

How we develop as people. I

5:43

feel like I said i'm and about twenty times

5:45

they're so I apologize. I try not to skirt

5:47

the things they want them to feel realistic and

5:49

natural though for you can have a bit of.

5:51

Patience. For me with us. Anyway, without

5:54

further ado, let's get into this. Let's

5:56

get it, they sought. With on Us Hero. Well,

5:58

kind of. First of all, So much for

6:01

having me and you're beautiful homes. Deceased is

6:03

Korea chairs and I threw my ear lovely

6:05

dog and your daughter on it. Seems like

6:07

things are really lovely heard that and I

6:10

five the as a full of level in

6:12

the area of the very look it's guess

6:14

at this wonderful has sincere and just really

6:16

enjoying it So thin lung make and any

6:19

of us lately and see your daughter's nine

6:21

months old Yeah hello Anglophone how have you

6:23

find that offensive substances. Yeah,

6:26

look, it's had it's ups and downs as

6:28

far as voice and very lucky. If is,

6:30

say placid, unhappy, and as social

6:33

so she's always been a good

6:35

sleeper. First those been a really

6:37

good Ezer scissors. A very sturdy

6:39

girls I analyze and very healthy

6:41

so we've been lucky in that

6:44

regard and let you know We

6:46

both have a a great support

6:48

network and so. We've

6:50

had so many friends and family. kind of. Look.

6:53

Out for us and help and are some

6:55

tips. name what they visit. know stuff like

6:57

that for Sam has an hour Don't think

6:59

anything to really prepare you for was parenthood

7:02

brings and motherhood brings and. As

7:05

someone who always had a very busy

7:07

lifestyle to has as someone come into

7:09

your license takes up an awful lot

7:11

of time out. Also as someone you

7:13

want to be around and of see

7:15

protect and minds and it changes your

7:17

whole perspective. Man those I am and

7:19

they become the priority really he had.

7:21

It's hard though I find. It really really

7:23

her. It's really hard I still find it.

7:25

Hard to quantify Know I Bolland. Swear

7:27

I see like I'm because I like to

7:30

do loads of things where I feel like

7:32

I'm full selves at but I'm also doing

7:34

but I need to do to feel fulfilled

7:36

his parents like. I think that balances really

7:38

hard to site for some people if you're

7:41

busy yeah absolutely and from a particular Cia

7:43

my sport and career as a lot of

7:45

trainings in the evening and times have fallen

7:47

start making her I'm here for a fast

7:49

and and of the for my wife's circa

7:52

like to help and all of us but

7:54

also doing something that I love to do

7:56

and I. You know I

7:58

say like there's more to give and. It was difficult

8:00

for me to his and a decide whether I

8:02

continue to stick with not this year or two

8:05

I'll. Leave that behind her

8:07

and give everything I can to Isa and watch

8:09

her grow up because they don't miss anything either.

8:11

you know when you're gone. So much says that

8:13

was difficult for Sam. Were making a work for

8:16

Were Balancing S and I think we're getting the

8:18

the best of both. Worlds I Nemesis.

8:20

So. This isn't a sport, podcasts and as the

8:22

you now and I'm not as Force X hurt

8:25

Other have to say I'm really enjoying for it.

8:27

They say there's something something changed within me. I'm

8:29

more into them easily and but for people at

8:31

that the really the a lot of people listening

8:34

who are familiar with you. And aren't familiar

8:36

with sport specific. Still know the basic

8:38

so let's go back to the very beginning

8:40

am where did your career in Spore It

8:43

again cited when as really young and I

8:45

come from a a family of does five

8:47

of us and I am the middle and

8:49

my two older sisters were never really big

8:51

into sports and but I had a couple

8:53

of lessons were boys and they were join

8:56

in the local soccer team around six or

8:58

so and literally around the corner from my

9:00

house. and you know. They were

9:02

doing that so I was do nothing and then

9:04

yesterday about seven played with them all the way

9:06

up to as the twelve or thirteen of the

9:09

only girl on the team and then. I

9:12

have to lead the team just because it was

9:14

going to get dangerous for girls to blow the

9:16

boys and I need to find my own team

9:18

and league and headed you feel about that as

9:21

as I am at the time it was self

9:23

I probably didn't understand. The.

9:25

Implications of tasks and. Because.

9:28

Look I'm battling with as the only girl

9:30

of the on who know how to go

9:32

and find a new team I would ask

9:34

that continue and I felt a bit less

9:36

says man i like I understand from their

9:38

perspective and the league's rules and stuff like

9:41

that was there was no girls seem and

9:43

the area for me to join and so

9:45

answer to give up that sports and luckily

9:47

for me I sell and Seagate football true

9:49

a second to school and then joins my

9:51

then local club round hours and fend off

9:53

and and like my doubling career kind of

9:55

kicked off from their boss and here lox.

9:58

I'm very glad the way things. They had happened

10:00

was you know maybe my career mode very

10:02

different had a know how to lead the

10:04

team for they don't think I would have

10:06

may be played in football yeah that's interesting

10:08

as mans that maybe you would have been

10:10

at the World cup last year hours and

10:12

off as ever that severe hum his as

10:15

you wouldn't book myself enough rak as a

10:17

decent vote not they're not of their level

10:19

no way yeah off season now without he

10:21

of because he didn't have the time i

10:23

think looks this decade in the caves and

10:25

to these are Sullivan the of the are

10:27

seem I'm nowhere near them so and I'm

10:29

happy with that. Let out because his head

10:31

he got to be the hottest harrell of

10:33

your own teams. And so he started playing

10:35

Gaelic football and and I think they are

10:38

doesn't restarted. They're so when did you first

10:40

play for Dublin? Am I first place for

10:42

Dublin when I was with thirteen under age

10:44

as long time ago. Okay so that's quite

10:46

finished Soccer. I work and called soccer for the better. I

10:48

will not. As herself as soon as soccer

10:51

at Swells and then by thirteen. Years

10:53

he are on. A Dublin

10:55

seen, yeah, Canada that many of

10:57

us and I just happened that

10:59

way I suppose. And when I

11:01

joined. The retrial sir Dublin pretty soon after

11:04

and I was put forward and. And picked

11:06

from there and that said offered of unclear

11:08

for me that tennis when dogs and next

11:10

ten years and has a a pizza play

11:12

with some incredible players and and teammates and

11:15

then on some really really successful teams and

11:17

I never when I joined a didn't understand

11:19

the importance of G A in your community

11:21

and the pairs of and so privileged I

11:24

was to get to where Dublin jersey and

11:26

I hadn't come from Canada background and what

11:28

that was like and and all the you

11:30

are tested idea exactly what those a lot

11:32

of girls their who'd been trying to gonna

11:35

thirteen. for a long time and I and as

11:37

sold and then i have like hey what's going

11:39

on here to had a deal that the are

11:41

you nervous I have the understand that now and

11:44

that grew as time went on posts. Yeah,

11:46

look at them. Very lucky and and

11:48

my career my for your particular some

11:50

of the teens I've been on what

11:52

role outside of the actual sport stage,

11:55

being in a team playing Cia at

11:57

a high. Level or Planes? Yeah and all

11:59

have. On you as he interview. Present

12:01

about it and. I think for

12:04

me. I. Always have very good social

12:06

skills am I was made lots of friends? And

12:08

family. Lots of different groups of friends.

12:10

boss. And for me, it was

12:12

those friendships really that. Brought.

12:15

Me through trickly. In the my teenage

12:17

years I struggled my mental health and

12:19

off a loss and it was kind

12:21

of their relationships and friendships I made

12:23

to that that really helps me and

12:25

to overcome all of those posts Sports

12:27

for me in particular. It. I.

12:30

Always had a drive and ambition to succeed

12:32

at only thing I did regardless. Of whether

12:34

with sports or or something else Boss and.

12:37

It gave me an awful lot of discipline

12:39

and particularly from a team aspect. I think

12:41

of eyes people with asked what I ever

12:43

do any individual sports and I just don't

12:45

think I have the. The disclaimer:

12:47

that determination to stay at an invidious for because

12:49

of it's raining outside and can like I don't

12:51

really want to go train and today that's a

12:54

sick whereas the the team sports you very much

12:56

fill out the gays and like it's your duty

12:58

and everyone else as soon as you need to

13:00

commit. So that was son of a big thing

13:02

for me and I suppose that try that sanford

13:05

a lot across and to like my school math

13:07

teacher and like in school and stuff like that

13:09

I try and and. Have this

13:11

same for the kids but also be led the

13:13

flex phone. Terms of. The. You know,

13:15

everybody has different backgrounds unless I'm trying

13:18

to. Sell them

13:20

that discipline and structure. In particular structures the

13:22

big ones. As can be quite goods in

13:24

your life, but that off the having sex

13:27

Thursday for for certain things can be muscles.

13:29

Man, I probably didn't apply a lot of

13:31

that to myself In terms of my mental

13:33

health, you know, when I was there, gone

13:35

through. His boss and. Sports.

13:38

Has just been massive for me. Read the

13:40

biggest thing as the relationships and friendships that.

13:42

I've made that I still have to this

13:44

day he I see that over and over

13:46

again even within my on France's circles. am

13:48

I know? Group of girls yourself me now

13:50

aren't wells their thirties and their cell? well

13:52

are they? well it's their thirties I think

13:54

they are no sense hard for for the

13:56

call themselves if I his air age to

13:58

us but they are. No way to their

14:01

from saying as I think it's follow my

14:03

pick Moby Matter but into a T A

14:05

and they are such an amazing group of

14:07

women that are so tight knit they they

14:09

care about each other so deeply but they're

14:12

also difference am but they have this and

14:14

ten friendship that makes me really jealous. To

14:16

be honest like I think it it would

14:18

have been a really. Good thing for me to

14:20

be on a sports team. I played. I

14:22

played soccer until I was like sixteen but

14:25

I hated it am and I didn't com

14:27

the gruesome it seems that us about example

14:29

Spotlights Eight I can see that it is

14:31

a beautiful bonds that you have. we're like

14:33

for me and I joined round Terrorists and

14:35

all can they are my local team and

14:38

and at they are no longer my my

14:40

club anymore my new clothes as an Athena

14:42

am and it's actually quite rare and get

14:44

a football's chance or twelve sport. Unfortunately when

14:46

I left for a little rugby haze of

14:48

them came back round hire them for she

14:51

didn't have a senior team and. And is

14:53

was no. The local clothes that I joined for my.

14:55

Dublin ambitions and boss the girls and rant

14:57

hours even are no longer officially a T

14:59

Maze and Alves I still meet up with

15:02

them all the time with Million Loss us

15:04

we sell her nerves and Christmas another S

15:06

and and. You know, has play

15:08

dates with the kids and I think it's

15:10

so important and they've been there for me

15:13

through some of my really really low days

15:15

on they've been that are all the highs

15:17

and I think it's of brilliance and you

15:19

know we will. The friends and. Until

15:22

well into you know my succeeds their

15:24

seventies and said one hundred or less

15:26

as fast as soon as he has

15:28

hit a snag in a will be

15:30

friends for life and as yeah the

15:33

way it is and were all there

15:35

for each other. regardless he I am

15:37

an experience like it's transcend sports and

15:39

that's what's so important with so many

15:41

good memories and to look back on

15:43

and boot that. Of Friendships and the

15:45

band's a maker are the best things.

15:47

Commander Sport Yeah, so. I like to

15:49

come back to maybe some of the low days

15:51

but I think we should continue with sport for

15:54

now. So I mentioned there is that you went

15:56

on a little the rugby jobs and so tell

15:58

us about that. Never plans and

16:01

so he played Dublin right hurt

16:03

my teenage years and I like

16:05

a little bit older and. When

16:08

I initially joint open as goalkeepers didn't physically like

16:10

it put up with the jobs that need a

16:12

doing and so I did as regardless but when

16:15

I got a bit older i said to be

16:17

that more stubborn and wanted player field and so

16:19

is pushing for that and little this and and

16:21

while I was science been alveolar mess up their

16:23

sound lynch who played rugby for allow that here

16:26

and was kind of in the mists of time

16:28

to get into that the national squad and pseudo

16:30

is said to me I think you'd be really

16:32

good rugby a things to give it a go

16:34

and as I never provider of the family would

16:36

watch the out games posts. And

16:39

yeah no I didn't even all those

16:41

a rugby club in and all concerned

16:43

sorry guys and science Yes he just

16:45

kind of convince me to come down

16:47

her training session, give it a go

16:49

and see. I went down when I

16:51

tell Belvedere insulin over this and then

16:53

played with their second team. Had a

16:55

bit of fun but it was never

16:57

going to be my main sport. Been

16:59

of Dublin and Gaelic Football was where

17:01

I wanted to be and. I.

17:03

Went back to Dublin and then a couple

17:05

of months later I got a call out

17:07

of the blue from a guy cause stomach

17:10

dell to ask what I like Wins the

17:12

are seven seem for a trial in a

17:14

set of for rugby sevens which has been

17:16

brought into the Olympics of the first time

17:18

in Rio and any sixteen and I kind

17:20

of said look as nothing to lose my

17:22

doesn't come to go on from there I

17:25

was offered a contract and my ruby journey

17:27

start as and I played with the seven

17:29

the fifteens for seven years or so and.

17:32

You know, plane in two World Cups

17:34

when in the Six Nations. cysts travel

17:36

in the hospital itself like Sire Sno

17:38

again that very healthy. The scenes I

17:41

fell in San was incredible and the

17:43

opportunities I go through. The

17:45

best coaches and nutritionists. And. Facilities Another s

17:47

is was phenomenal and I never expected to

17:49

be as so long I'm from J A

17:52

really thought of be one or two years

17:54

and ah for the Olympics you know combat

17:56

add to Dublin boasts that has kept up

17:59

for me. Punch. Then I was really enjoying

18:01

it and and. Pretty decent at

18:03

it. So I kept gone and so

18:05

I've got two questions or for like

18:07

a lot. Number one is how do

18:09

you have that conversation with Eleven where

18:11

you say I'm gonna go and do

18:13

this other thing that was really hard

18:15

and so is this is and twenty

18:17

fourteen and then. I'd

18:20

gone back to Dublin with all intentions

18:22

of fighting for now feels Boston and

18:24

the coach at the time was like

18:26

now we want as goalkeeper the most

18:28

recent goalkeeper retired and we think we've

18:30

really good sauce and I again. Was

18:32

disappointed. Boots on the saw it again. This is

18:34

the role that they wanted me and you play

18:37

for a team and the heck the all that.

18:39

sort of. So I did us and we played

18:41

the lead. We do quite well and we actually

18:43

reach the league final for the first time ever.

18:45

Man puts a couple weeks before. Been approached by

18:47

on and and offered all. This and I didn't

18:50

wanna do a little files in the

18:52

bucket as it was really difficult. It

18:54

was probably slightly easier. To.

18:57

Step away from Dublin because it is in goal

18:59

and wasn't yeah like I wanted to play for

19:02

don't but I want to be now. Feel there

19:04

he is easier it in that way. But it

19:06

was still incredibly hard. Like telling the players like

19:08

we're on a high. We just wasted a lead

19:10

final for the first time. We lot a young

19:12

players coming through. We've been really well. They're.

19:16

Starting goalkeeper which can be quite difficult

19:18

to find a varied I'm not trying

19:20

to big myself with no no, but

19:22

when you get a solid goalkeeper, they

19:24

tend to last there for very long

19:26

time because they. Can be really hard to

19:28

find. And and. Yes,

19:31

when I tell them I stephen away. Everybody

19:34

was quite shocked that enough to see a calming.

19:36

I hadn't really told people that I was in

19:38

China with the Irish team, but I I tried

19:40

to explain that this was an opportunity that. Women:

19:43

And girls and on on. Guess I'll

19:45

send their wasn't the professionalism we have

19:48

now and there wasn't any like League

19:50

of Ireland was enough to say to

19:52

that. Now where the girls again plays

19:54

and most people if they wanted to

19:56

the professional a semi professional had to

19:58

go Bross I was actually the. In

20:00

that I would go. My other question was

20:02

so what did a contract mean like was

20:04

it was a professional as a family that

20:06

lives in? Ah yes so contract or semi

20:08

professional and and stash we would be training

20:11

like four times a week than nothing but

20:13

a be Monday to Friday like that would

20:15

be my job know I was assume that

20:17

the time is also kind of work as

20:19

that way but based as being paid to

20:22

play the best thing says the best and

20:24

sell it easy know traveling the world represent

20:26

my country potentially gone to the Olympians and

20:28

I would like they for something. I

20:30

can turn down every to give myself

20:32

an opportunity to be the best. Sadly

20:34

that could be because of and these

20:37

and sort I had to sort I'd

20:39

had am and you know. As

20:41

a said as of the owners twenty three

20:43

and Y nos for a year or two

20:45

and I could always come to Dublin that

20:47

anything like for years I laughed so hard

20:49

to site with because even earlier when you

20:51

were saying you know, trains and. Planes

20:54

Boris. And you play for it at the top

20:56

level. Like for the the sport that

20:58

you place on having to shine Bolland

21:00

start with your job on being a

21:02

mother. You know is if you could

21:05

train during the day since we may

21:07

get like thirty I said as the

21:09

big thing like it's just getting to

21:11

be enough please all the time and

21:13

and then come home and evening in

21:15

your job as Dylan mans just be

21:17

able to recover and alves and be

21:19

the best seat on the of an

21:21

as a said the added bonus of

21:23

getting for present Ireland's the you know

21:25

traveling the world feel any thanks yeah

21:27

we didn't make the Olympics and foresee

21:30

but the even the best fact it

21:32

actually it was incredible and. Even

21:34

like. The. Girls I

21:36

met another team's we're still friends down

21:38

and contact and someone not which it

21:40

isn't and post it was really difficult

21:43

because Mike my contacts. says. That

21:45

I have the could land hither sports because

21:47

of injury so happens that way from dublin

21:49

and that it was really difficult and i

21:51

think a lot of girls workplace person obsessed

21:53

with because we had a huge chance and

21:55

I was taken away pilots and so on

21:58

and so does he go back. Am

22:01

I have a look? Either that or

22:03

lessons Any fourteen that come back till

22:05

Twenty Twenty One So and stay at

22:07

times as in Twenty Twenty One Calvin

22:10

Harris L. Rugby Activities or stops and

22:12

we were it again In the middle

22:14

of trying to go to the Tokyo

22:16

Olympics that was postponed the was meant

22:18

the World Cup in New Zealand for

22:20

fifteen and Twenty Twenty One and postpone

22:23

by year and for me. That

22:25

a move to just fifteen? That's completely answers.

22:27

I had a job and then I was.

22:30

Training twice a week

22:32

on. With the fifteenth mid week

22:34

and then at the weekend you would spend

22:37

all weekend in a hotel on training with

22:39

girl. So Friday evening to Sunday afternoon you

22:41

were gone from your fat. And every weekend

22:43

in the build up to the Six Nations

22:46

which is like could be twelve to fifteen

22:48

weeks. Oh hell. Am and

22:50

so when that with pushed

22:53

back I. Sounded. Very

22:55

difficult to. Continue

22:57

or want to continue to give a

23:00

hundred percent. Thus and and the commitment

23:02

air because we had plans get married

23:04

at that point in a we knew

23:06

we wanted to start a family. I

23:08

was paying for a mortgage and and.

23:12

The thing about fifteen says because of amateur.

23:14

Your. Enough get paid at all and then there

23:17

are times when you have had the law time

23:19

off work and as a second a schoolteacher those

23:21

replacing the funny and I didn't have perm see

23:23

my job or on thing like that and since

23:25

i as I decided on to retire after the

23:27

world cup anyway if we made it there and

23:29

then when it was pushed out by ear I

23:31

just kinda yes I can't mentally and physically do

23:33

this or another year for fair on me and

23:35

I'm not fair city on with I mean. Circa

23:37

hands and so I decide to

23:39

retire. And boot with Cove when

23:41

Ruby was still leading into. Between

23:44

between you and I went back and say

23:46

gee A for the first time for years

23:48

because. That. Wasn't celts ma'am and so I

23:50

played a bit with my new club. Nothing I have

23:52

noticed by that of months or mic Bowen and he

23:55

was can encourage me to come back and I said

23:57

look. A knock on back now and. I

23:59

wanna go. The plan. As for a cop and I'm

24:01

in the World Cup got postponed. I went. Out

24:03

on Aniston, we'll have may assist them and

24:06

so yeah. He was delighted to have me

24:08

on boards and he wasn't around to on

24:10

Monday when I left into an outward. Teen

24:13

so single parents are. it was. I'm allowed

24:15

the girls there. I knew some a number

24:17

that with a lot a new faces, new

24:19

places and is. It was very difficult for

24:21

me to come in because I came in

24:23

and twenty twenty one and they were on

24:25

the back of they'd one for all our

24:27

lives in a row were gone for five

24:29

in a row Am and I I came

24:31

into into first as get in the squaws

24:33

you know and then try get a jersey

24:35

and look at enough. We had a brilliant

24:37

year right up to the final and I

24:39

got low the minutes and enforcing the laws

24:41

to me posts and. I got flail

24:43

failed which is what I wanted so am

24:45

very happy and yeah it's been a dream

24:47

and of the last year thankfully we we

24:50

months when the alarm and and that was

24:52

the one thing a headless. So to win

24:54

a senior learn their wow what a like

24:56

Want a career as it is I know

24:58

you're super humble so you're not gonna say

25:00

that the like it is incredible. Like to

25:02

play at that level in more than one

25:04

sport is not something the very many people

25:06

get. To Do! I mean I remember when

25:08

Michael Jordan were trying. To. Play they saw it

25:10

did not go that way up on a definite

25:12

know like as as as you don't I mean

25:15

like you don't get they are not many people

25:17

get to play a top level am into and

25:19

more than one sport it's it's really incredible like

25:21

the A I see like athletic last night as

25:23

of them are like it's a new like I

25:25

felix you are probably born without the you feel

25:27

that way and yeah look I say I am

25:30

very lucky and privilege to blame the scenes and

25:32

had the opportunity that I hadn't and again to

25:34

win what I have one it's. I

25:36

do. I am immensely proud of that

25:38

and I know looking back I lamb

25:41

I'd appreciate it so much more when

25:43

I'm finished playing as Yeah Look, I've

25:45

always been sporty, outgoing, and. Half

25:48

decent as most sports as moon, some

25:50

terrible apartment and unfortunately who were destroyed

25:52

me mad was here we are speaking

25:55

out against us on our yeah no

25:57

lox forces of my thing and and

25:59

I. Doing it it just brings so

26:01

much passivity into my life and is the

26:03

release of endorphins that I guess to that

26:06

makes me so happy that I am. I

26:08

don't wanted to end to be honest since

26:10

I thought I would love so of course

26:12

but it's Us has not gone that way

26:14

for me and I'm still like are find

26:17

my saying of as feet maybe who knows.

27:58

burrow.com/a Cast. I

28:02

am but let's go back because you've mentioned

28:04

a couple of things to the conversation he

28:06

mentioned obviously that you had some really difficult

28:08

years and years teenagers and he mentioned is

28:11

eating disorder and so tell us a little

28:13

bit of a sauce and so probably roughly

28:15

thirty rise or twelve or thirteen or so.

28:17

obviously very difficult time for a young teenagers

28:19

and the Rider and that find them when

28:22

you are sopping playing soccer and starting to

28:24

play football. yeah like again I've no idea

28:26

if it's kind of impact that it out

28:28

of probably head slightly and I just was

28:30

in a very. Vulnerable position. I'd agree.

28:32

family great for that works on all

28:35

the rest but I had always been

28:37

as I said very ambitious and high

28:39

achieving and for didn't just simply that

28:41

the sports in school with my friends

28:43

are I had a lot of and

28:45

delta that myself and very low self

28:47

worth and I just felt like I

28:49

wasn't good enough human really and in

28:52

every aspect and I wanted to be

28:54

a better friend, better sister and you

28:56

know about her daughter want to be

28:58

better in school I thought you know

29:00

as playing good. Football where I didn't

29:02

really want to in a position as

29:04

a goalkeeper and so I thought maybe

29:06

Fi skinnier. you know I might be

29:08

an outfielder. All these started names I

29:11

thought would change my life instantly and

29:13

easily am. And so I just decided

29:15

on of a simple Dyas and thus

29:17

ends up developing into and he's and

29:19

soda and former blame Yes And then

29:21

I kept the ferry secrets. I didn't

29:23

really know what I was doing and

29:25

a sleep and you know as as

29:27

time went on I developed all these

29:29

negative coping methods of. Avoiding

29:32

food and and salaries make myself

29:34

sick man binge, encouraging all that.

29:36

sort of so fun hiding it

29:38

from everybody in line to people

29:40

of those one of these in

29:42

the northwest and and I was

29:44

very good at hiding this man

29:46

and. I. With

29:49

fully me don't really see what's changed and

29:51

the scales to be on the so again

29:54

I felt like I was constantly sailing alas

29:56

and not and well and I got stuck

29:58

in a repeat the cycle of you know,

30:00

sale basically and. I hated myself

30:02

for know very same than there was. An.

30:05

Urge and a desire for me to punish

30:07

myself for the Us and for me that

30:10

came the former self harm and I'm and

30:12

the self harm for me As I said

30:14

it was a punishment it was does kind

30:16

of almost to try and get a fresh

30:19

start and for my words beans and Purge

30:21

Feel that shame as field is overwhelming urge

30:23

and desire to self harm until like and

30:25

it doesn't go away. It's so hard to.

30:29

Like described as put it's it's justice nine

30:31

it it's almost and I don't want to

30:33

compare to. It's almost like an addict somewhere

30:35

to not leave units. All you can think

30:37

of boasts an on till you do is

30:39

now I'm and when I did self harm

30:42

I would get this done of relief Relief

30:44

is and relief. For me

30:46

with Legos letting the negativity in the

30:48

toxins out of my body on I

30:50

was punish myself and I could side

30:52

fresh again tomorrow and until I lose

30:55

weight again and put a fiercely relief

30:57

it's that high doesn't last very long.

30:59

a new will you shouldn't be self

31:01

harming but it was the coping methods

31:03

that I new york A for years

31:05

easy and and I would send seal

31:08

shame and embarrassment for whatever suing and

31:10

I was hiding s from everybody and

31:12

I just got stuck in a cycle

31:14

of in awaken on restricting. And then

31:16

binge and purging self harm and hiding

31:19

from everybody, you know, and I was

31:21

very boldly and outgoing and and

31:23

socialize. I i put on

31:25

a mosque to hide that from everybody and

31:27

you know time went on and and myself

31:30

harm as well hidden I still went and

31:32

played sports avon days on a really didn't

31:34

want to under it they were my saviors

31:36

because it was an error to the day

31:38

where I could forget about the negative towards

31:40

telling me that I was horrible and thus

31:42

and you know nobody likes me in as

31:44

worthless and a burden than sauce and all

31:46

the rest am and then I would just

31:48

do that day all over again and it

31:50

has it got worse and worse of the

31:53

as time went on my self harm. I

31:56

need is more more of it to get that

31:58

same than a seal and of really. I'm

32:00

on. My even disorders got

32:03

worse and. Again, appearance

32:05

wise. Multiple. Probably.

32:07

Didn't notice again because

32:09

my way fluctuated bus.

32:12

Not. Really to the extreme so much

32:14

and bought I was damaged my body

32:16

terribly and I'm just not your point.

32:18

When I was kind of in my

32:20

as laser teenagers eyes and six there

32:22

in the pressure and everything I felt

32:24

like a burden set like too much

32:26

and I say clown nice that's a

32:28

long time move I sorry I know

32:30

you've to set in a really big

32:32

and will combat that but that's a

32:35

long time. So thirteen to sixteen, eighteen

32:37

death while esa like just a built

32:39

it. It started off. The. you

32:41

know quite minor of very early on and

32:43

then it just developed and to me needing

32:45

more more and the second. Over more and

32:47

more her license. As I said, I

32:49

still. The still went to trainings

32:52

and sport and older s and hit a

32:54

lot of the things and like again deception

32:56

lying have become very good at boy must

32:58

have been exhausted as it's and i was.

33:01

The. Culmination of me time take my

33:03

own lifeless I was physically and mentally.

33:06

And. Psychologically exhausted and I felt like

33:08

I could not do it anymore. And

33:10

a big reason why I didn't speak

33:13

out was. I felt like as a

33:15

bird, you know what? again. There's.

33:17

So much awareness around mental health and ease. I'm

33:19

sort of all that now, but back then I

33:21

didn't I didn't know much about as I say,

33:24

there was no real awareness that I I knew

33:26

of. There was no mental health week and school

33:28

and people coming into talk about things and so

33:30

I felt like I was the only person know

33:33

that who had this yeah, suffered from this and

33:35

for me, You. Know I

33:37

was very fearful of I resent us. For

33:39

help that there was nobody that could help me.

33:41

And as. You know, Like

33:45

an option exists again for me. Like. I

33:47

really fear for the finding it doesn't because I

33:50

knew then for definite this was my life forever

33:52

and on. I think that has culminated for me

33:54

and I would just be easier if I wasn't

33:56

Here is only families are and myself and that

33:58

would just be thus com. If I suppose.

34:00

And and yeah it was a long few

34:03

years though. And don't get me wrong I

34:05

had so many good day sir and that

34:07

a man and all that was an the

34:09

film about your my exactly that. It's always

34:11

there, know it's you know it just was

34:13

part of who I want us and as

34:16

the courts that I used to get me

34:18

through every day so that's a long time

34:20

as I saw as. You

34:23

must have had to really learn how

34:25

to live near like it takes over

34:27

his party. A licensor like even then

34:29

when I take my own life son

34:31

of my family found as or I

34:33

was brought qaeda has an and then

34:35

and about see entering into at a

34:37

facility an inpatient facility to try and

34:40

deal with things and even when I

34:42

came out of their. The

34:44

biggest thing and the biggest differences everybody knew now

34:46

my friends, my family, my teammates I don't see

34:48

other than there for six months in Out when

34:51

I was only eighteen and my a long time.

34:53

Said in the very long time was meant to

34:55

be that long. but it it was what I

34:57

needed and I wasn't six when I came out

34:59

as know how to an eating disorder I just

35:01

had I suppose better tools to cope with monitor

35:04

and I probably wasn't quite ready to recover and.

35:06

Take. That step myself boss

35:08

at. The. Biggest thing with the confidence

35:11

in the hope I got from the most people

35:13

that actually support and makes I never I didn't

35:15

think I'd have to us and Nato allies and

35:17

think that nobody had ever sell me otherwise Air

35:19

Force I just had that Am I had nuts?

35:21

loss I suppose. Mental. Illness do it,

35:23

isolates you from everybody and and tries to

35:25

tell you all the the bad things about

35:28

yourself and. And so yeah it

35:30

it took us here that I would say

35:32

I like. I wasn't fully recovered. Lanza

35:34

Twenty four. It's a twenty three. Twenty four. Around

35:36

the time I said to play rugby, I was

35:38

gonna. In the recovery

35:40

stage or the tail end of as bush

35:42

of the lot of kind of. You

35:44

know, two steps forward, one step back

35:47

and and I lent on my friends

35:49

and particular. My wife sarcasm I met

35:51

through game football a couple years fire.

35:54

He. Or didn't know me prior

35:56

to the hospitalization or anything

35:58

like that. and and. Yeah.

36:01

Was just there for me and trying to

36:03

help in every way that she caught amongst

36:05

so many other friends and and you know,

36:07

even old teachers and. People

36:10

I hadn't seen in years where reach noted

36:12

to China mean it was such a booster

36:14

meters. Know that people did care

36:16

and so kind of game and I hope

36:19

to really try and I i throw myself

36:21

into recovery and others that it was a

36:23

straightforward was perfect post eventually got there and

36:25

eventually learn to love myself on that. The

36:28

biggest thing I have to I suppose learn

36:30

was thus I'm not perfect and ever will

36:32

the and that I will sale at the

36:34

with the big thing I never wanted a

36:37

sale or not succeed. I always says goals

36:39

that were unattainable and there were never realistic.

36:41

So it's always sailing and I had to

36:43

change. The Us is an. Idea of

36:46

became a very much a glass half

36:48

full I know that cliche boss. I

36:50

just had to look at things in

36:53

a more positive and realistic way. the

36:55

same clearly see vibrators ssssss about it

36:57

and through the front room and I

37:00

i i want to talk about why

37:02

you've decided you've made the decision. Or

37:04

you are. You know I don't. Know the first recently seventy

37:06

like this. but why you made it isn't sock mad

37:08

at. but before we got there I think the concept

37:11

of being a burden is something that's. Where it's

37:13

from, Savannah more. Because they think that it's

37:15

something that so many people struggle with

37:17

and I think and particular young people.

37:19

Because until you have had the opportunity

37:21

and I would say the honor to

37:23

support someone that you love three something

37:25

difficult. it's easy to feel like needing

37:27

help is being a burden and it

37:29

often It's only when you get older

37:31

and you have a friend he's gone

37:33

through a rough time. Any realize how

37:35

how fortunate you feel to be able

37:37

to be there for them that you

37:39

realize it's not actually a burden. not

37:41

all at the like. You work with

37:43

kids. All the time is that something that

37:45

you feel like we need to communicate more

37:47

to them? The I think so. for me

37:49

grown up in a very busy households and

37:52

you know the was always so much going

37:54

on I think I've I felt like they

37:56

don't need this right now. You know that

37:58

that save other things to be do and

38:00

I'm very lucky The roof over my head

38:02

that you know we never wanted for anything

38:04

and I see it Only siblings while we

38:06

fought another s were always there for me

38:09

and I dunno why I felt like that

38:11

and it just felt like. I

38:13

wasn't worth anything really and. You.

38:15

Know. I should be

38:17

putting this on my parents and yeah, I'm

38:20

very conscious and aware of that right now

38:22

and am. Just the a particular

38:24

for young kids. Society nowadays has changed so

38:26

much from when I was younger and. It's

38:28

continuously developing and critically social media has such

38:31

an impact on their lives on. I'm very

38:33

aware of what it's like for them to to

38:35

grow up in these difficult times and again

38:37

parents are busier than ever. I will have

38:39

very low key thus in own my my

38:41

dad works, my mom was a stay at home

38:43

mom so she was always there but I

38:45

know the lot of kids don't have that

38:47

and therefore probably feel like they're even more

38:49

of a bird know when. Everyone's

38:51

lives are so busy, but. He

38:53

a big part for me as a teacher

38:56

is not only of the trying to get

38:58

them to fulfill their academic potential but as

39:00

sisters and mole them into you know. Human

39:03

beings who can contribute to their community but

39:05

also just reach their potential in any aspect

39:07

of their life and academics enough for everybody.

39:09

We understand that and it's about making sure

39:11

that school for them to save, save and

39:14

that they can come to and enjoy and

39:16

on get something out of his regardless of

39:18

whether that. From. The books and asked

39:20

and so and so does all that

39:22

play into your choice and to to

39:25

talk about these things yeah kind of

39:27

and I i never planned on the

39:29

top an advantage when i am with

39:32

get my first cap with wrote these

39:34

everyone the six nations that year in

39:36

the fifteenth and those a book been

39:38

written and because either the a rookie

39:41

a new be that year I got

39:43

a chapter s and to Canada san

39:45

the other with clinic just. Tie

39:47

into guess like some ever buffer like tell

39:49

me that are praying and and she's got.

39:52

I didn't say anything about is the hospital

39:54

or under Mills. And my my best friend too

39:56

much. Which is and the bit of a

39:58

disappear like. Will be doing here and. Of

40:01

record I tell to they look I was

40:03

mostly are sort of mental health and she

40:05

asks would I be okay she put that

40:07

in an Isis analyst why not like I'm

40:10

not ashamed anymore and over that that's in

40:12

your city and actually and and. It

40:15

it's publish their and that I just had so

40:17

many people reaching out to say fair play like.

40:19

For for speaking out this is broken twenty

40:21

fifteen and then. Yeah.

40:24

Like to cook less girl same thank you

40:26

so much I thought as the only one

40:28

who felt this way on they're gonna talk

40:30

to people and us very much and. Would.

40:33

That is the gold for me now as

40:35

I share my story because I know that

40:37

there are people out there that struggle and

40:39

as may be struggle to come forward and

40:42

speak to people because they feel so alone

40:44

or that nobody understands and. Is.

40:46

My story can help one person than that

40:48

as more than enough for me to share

40:50

it and so I very happy to do

40:52

thus. and and you know I understand I'm

40:54

in the spotlight live in Nam a role

40:56

model so not only on the pitch but

40:59

off the pitch or can have an impact

41:01

and then again I'm very lucky to be

41:03

have to do this. I think it's incredible

41:05

that you do at like I sign on

41:07

of and all the final discography. to think

41:09

it's so valuable when we talk about our

41:11

difficulties at because they're so off like very

41:13

rarely unique like usually someone else has been

41:15

for us. Or something similar or a little

41:18

he bit of an answer so I'm almost

41:20

certain that guy first the i'm i'm not

41:22

feeling of oh that's how I feel were

41:24

like recognition is so powerful and can be

41:27

so healing so I think it's great that

41:29

you do I I think it's quite therapeutic

41:31

for me as loudly as that. I never

41:33

and I never planned to speak out about

41:36

it. Now I give talks that all around

41:38

the country when I can add side of

41:40

my job to go to organizations to charities

41:42

and all the rest and I very much

41:44

go off script and hundreds. Of tell my

41:47

own story and and so am I never

41:49

noticed put my wife after sitting in a

41:51

couple of those said to me like i

41:53

love comedies, hawks and I'm a bit like

41:55

are i remember my soul there but okay

41:57

answers like know because I learn something new

41:59

That too. The time or learn a new

42:01

tidbit or story because she was there for

42:03

most that when I went through us and

42:06

as for me I never really thought about

42:08

us and in all the dispose of so

42:10

many memories of us and thus you know

42:12

what I talk lets us com those and

42:15

this as I find a very therapeutic here

42:17

again and I suppose the way I've you

42:19

know health myself to alzheimer's and than yeah

42:21

kind of dismayed at a normal thing for

42:24

me to talk about because it was very

42:26

much stigmatized the and it's the reason why

42:28

things got the last me. Because I didn't

42:30

speakers Yeah yeah well I think it's great

42:32

that you do as I sides on Sam

42:34

we actually met at the It wasn't a

42:37

talks per se but we were doing a

42:39

panels and Maslen say together am and I

42:41

was so impressed. If you and because a

42:43

you've got a fire in you at where

42:45

were we were talking about it like center

42:47

quality. And south am I feel? I

42:49

was. So impressed because they didn't

42:51

know you really at all. You

42:54

obviously have strong feelings of a

42:56

kind of center. Quality is focus

42:58

when you grow and. Here.

43:01

Though in a society that is

43:03

male dominated and das and has

43:05

always been privileged swords critically white

43:08

males man you play a sport

43:10

that has. Never seen

43:12

as equals. Some because of the gender and

43:14

sex can be quite difficult and I suppose

43:17

I'm at that early on with soccer. one

43:19

of the on a girl of my team

43:21

and man he these to see me as

43:23

a weak link and I kind of us

43:25

were there fire in the belly scientists and

43:27

I'm gonna show you an because I'm a

43:30

girl doesn't mean you know that I'm useless

43:32

and then and it's just kicked off me

43:34

for their i just don't understand why. People.

43:37

Can see males and females. For

43:39

for equal as they. Are yes the

43:41

males will always be stronger, tenacity and

43:43

on the rest posts and if given

43:45

the same opportunities women can do exactly

43:47

what man can add more and I

43:49

think back. You know as a historian

43:51

we cover like women and twentieth century

43:53

Ireland and under struggles that they had

43:55

like. The marriage bar making women give up their

43:58

jobs and they got married and. Hey,

44:00

equality and nothing Ever say get the education

44:02

and like I just think of all the

44:04

poor women that we has missed out on

44:07

that never got to recess and so the

44:09

potentially have the cure for many diseases our

44:11

would have come up with some amazing inventions

44:14

that we never ever got to see. Now

44:16

I have no income I thought in with

44:18

my Aunt and my Granny like my Granny

44:20

is Amazing! Nick. See. My

44:24

whole life seen she never had a. Career.

44:26

Per se and because she was raised in

44:28

the cells. Another: as a sucker for yourself

44:30

and see our well. Yes absolutely but am

44:32

he knows Not A not a kind of

44:34

i'd rear as we would think of it

44:36

M but she always had a gig don't

44:38

always like and she would doing Cyrus people

44:40

sightings and then he was eating virus A

44:43

in a had to fire them then she

44:45

was had a network of costs as around

44:47

the said Nc at the way she would

44:49

speak about the way she managed the business

44:51

into Roxanne Am Isis like you would have

44:53

in the Ceo of like some Masa company

44:55

if given the chance and it is. So.

44:58

Heartbreaking to think of all that

45:00

last opportunity like it kills me.

45:02

Yeah, like it's Thankfully it's changed

45:04

and now we're not quite there

45:06

than. but we do see a

45:08

lot more women and days, you

45:10

know, Higher positions where they

45:13

can show their own self worth and

45:15

man but I sells his of lot

45:17

of work and go in a women

45:19

who are as oh thing and thus

45:21

have spoken an assertive another as can

45:24

sometimes be seen as bossy and moon

45:26

troublemaker efforts and I heard and my

45:28

career and you know with says i

45:30

dunno it's attitudes are changing but they're

45:32

still a a blow stuck in the

45:35

dark ages in that regard and mean

45:37

I think of my wife and six

45:39

their seats are accident male dominated and.

45:42

Career of of urban. Planning right

45:44

now which I find boring but he

45:46

knows the for us. As you know

45:49

she works in a company and the

45:51

earns a her bosses this. You

45:53

know, amazing female who is such a

45:55

leader and and and so a circa

45:57

and they're doing great things. Spice

46:00

You know, being surrounded by

46:03

a. Man. Who wouldn't

46:05

be as good as them? I think they're

46:07

just say no and them for guess these

46:09

opportunities. So yeah I it's incredible. She is

46:11

Stephanie role model for me and and Matsuda

46:13

than her career rain in. Oh and as

46:16

many other women out there who don't have

46:18

to and what about forests? Because it feels

46:20

like they've been on a assists and in

46:22

my lifetime anyway and services at Men and

46:24

Women and Forest. But I feel like you

46:27

would say that they sell a lot worse

46:29

to be. There are no look there, it's

46:31

a Stephanie Been Huge improvements. It's absolutely massive.

46:34

Even just media coverage has been huge

46:36

particularly for for soccer game football over

46:39

the last number of years and

46:41

will be while in particular have a

46:43

seat. there are still probably and

46:45

an attitude around the the women's game

46:47

and in most codes is not

46:49

a skillful as the Man's Am Islands

46:52

in Old. That's

46:54

something that frustrates me because politically and

46:56

are squads. Right across the three goals we have some

46:58

the. Most. Talented players as around the world

47:01

like and sixteen will be with some

47:03

really really world's affairs and yet they

47:05

don't way to get the recognition that

47:07

they deserve compared to their male counterparts

47:09

and we are getting their nestle you

47:11

know just this weekend the Irish women's

47:13

will be seen, how to a new

47:15

records which is brilliance and boss this

47:17

a lot of ways go that comes

47:20

from the the organizations themselves up on

47:22

some the media and had to protect

47:24

portrays but it also comes up from

47:26

people and and attitudes and go and

47:28

put your your. Bias aside, put not

47:30

attitude of women, sport isn't as good a

47:32

site. Go watch a match and then if

47:34

you still think that's fair enough Yeah, but

47:37

go get bombed on Fisa and see what's

47:39

out there and I think you'll be pleasantly

47:41

surprised. I think is wow that what people

47:43

forget when they talk about women scores is

47:46

thought. I actually have this conversation my dad

47:48

yesterday and today I didn't with i Am

47:50

Sunday Am I'm We were watching the women's

47:52

Arsenal team and my dad said when I

47:55

be right in thinking that in the Wsl

47:57

that said canoe female equivalent of. The premises

47:59

for. When he breathing and haven't seen

48:01

their way into this kind of at sports

48:04

fandom as I have over the last couple

48:06

years, M thought he was a going to

48:08

be right in thinking that is kinda three

48:10

or four big teams than the rest. Them

48:12

are kind of, you know, not as good

48:14

and I was like yeah, that's definitely the

48:17

case I said, but I think you're You

48:19

have to remember that these are women who

48:21

came from Sf infrastructure who didn't have the

48:23

same opportunities and investment as girls like yourself.

48:25

You know, who didn't have a girl seem

48:28

to didn't have that? You know, people taking.

48:30

Them Seriously. from infancy, you know

48:32

it wasn't viewed as a career

48:34

or a potential. you know, commercial,

48:36

you know, endeavor. Whereas now, finally,

48:38

for the first time, we're seeing

48:40

that in women's soccer. Not only.

48:43

Is it in a commercial success? Like you

48:45

know? You've got Arsenal selling at the Emirates

48:47

on a regular basis now, and Zoc in

48:49

a women can have big long careers. They

48:51

can make mass amounts of money from endorsements

48:53

like they have. Every opportunity to

48:55

do the same as man. So now. Hopefully

48:58

be unfit or she will be put in

49:00

place. The girls will be supported in there

49:02

for you will lead full of absolutely incredible

49:04

cleared but years. You know, a

49:06

hundred years behind man. I think it's

49:08

interesting because if he were to go

49:11

back to sober, Andrea gone out and

49:13

women's football in the Uk was the

49:15

highest attendance for us in the Uk.

49:17

And then they. Do

49:20

you know if people actually see what's on shelves

49:22

they will like is as the Nine and the

49:24

Past but as you said that it was banned

49:26

and then if as a side again and at

49:28

the winners are pretty much the same. The vanilla

49:31

professional than the last two years in or as

49:33

the Man obsessed since the Nineties and I think

49:35

it's. Absurd You for know the rugby team

49:37

they're they're comparison the fact that the men are

49:39

going so well at them and and months. They've

49:41

been special since the nineties and if you are

49:43

actually to look at any iris scans in the

49:45

nineties some that started up festive air and just

49:48

before they were robots now they were awful to

49:50

mass at. It takes time and in banks non

49:52

half an hour were nice and so think we

49:54

just need people to keep plugging away, keep giving

49:56

them their support, get down and much whether it's

49:58

a local game or. Annie, the International

50:01

games and Annie code names and you will

50:03

get value for your money and this cose

50:05

I don't know what that means A just

50:07

like Super Force okay I say like our

50:09

our athletes a long as I'm only my

50:12

to as well on a you said eerie

50:14

airplane again yeah you're playing this year am

50:16

on Zachary feeling of ethos yeah but with

50:18

the bills as his head really difficult decision

50:21

of and he said home as a missing

50:23

her we try north of los Seres like

50:25

soap you guys like some sued even as

50:27

not as. Her parents I feel like spending time with Mer

50:29

50:31

eyesight A Suspicious: it's a Cm Vienna. Were

50:34

really enjoying a good group. Girls are remained

50:36

as a. Core group from last

50:38

year's winning squad which is ingredients and nothing

50:40

as a given and sports were working pretty

50:42

hard to try and get back to that

50:44

a lot of final the summer poor sad

50:47

that it works it in the process or

50:49

not look into forehead was really really enjoying

50:51

the snare. Well fingers crossed I will dusts

50:53

to know the turning point for me with

50:55

Football with Injury and Katie Mccabe. I had

50:57

kind of completely I played football for years

50:59

of the kids I I a your did

51:01

not have a great relationship with it but

51:03

like oh the referee and everything I got

51:05

very much in that world. And

51:07

then I sell completely eyes and I just

51:10

had no interest in the man's game either.

51:12

Know there's just too much. Disappointment.

51:14

Nastiness around the man's game. there is an

51:16

appeal to me personally. Cinema history, Katie and

51:18

I like a home here suppose entered the

51:20

women are gonna now I'm all like full

51:22

and so maybe you'll be the turning point

51:24

for me with we have to get it

51:26

and will not an assassin or so. Well.

51:28
