A great mentor of mine who played alongside Karl Malone at Louisiana Tech once told me a story of how he wanted his coach to know he serious he was about his game. They had fallen behind in the game and he felt like coach wasn’t doing much to change that so he walked himself over to the scorers table and checked himself into the game. I took away a gem from that. Just check yourself in the game. A coach, a boss, your community, loved ones and friends included they see you how they see you and sometimes that’s limited due to familiarity. You don’t have to accept that. By checking yourself in the game, your choosing your own fate. You start to see things as they are and if your patient humble and wise enough you then seek and ask for god to allow you to see his vision of yourself. That’s when things get scary. To have to trust situations that make no sense, to lose positions you worked so hard to get and still not see the next step but have to keep walking. Lastly I’ll say that once you declare something in prayer all you have to do next is take the first step towards god and as you walk….THE WAY APPEARS.
