By the time of the first AIDS Day--December 1, 1988--Dale Thiele had already faced down the enemy, so to speak--not just the fear of HIV, and the deaths of many of his close friends, but the misinformation and the rush to judgment that the early days of the AIDS epidemic created.
Fast-forward to 2016: Dale, who has been diagnosed with AIDS, is one of Travis County's most well-known AIDS activists, and a staunch proponent of the services offered by CommUnityCare's David Powell Health Center.
