A programme to support nurse practitioners in their first year of employment has been dumped, despite it being described as the difference between some staying in the profession and walking away. The Nurse Practitioners Transition Programme ran for two years and its axing comes right as the government tries to boost the number of practitioners in the workforce. Rachel Graham has more.
