If you had tried it off the

0:02

field after positioning the

0:04

team from the people goal there, what

0:06

were your thoughts about the way you

0:09

had moved the team and what

0:11

was ahead for Cody getting a swing at it. Yeah,

0:14

that's that was our goal. That's I

0:16

felt like the offense, we just did our job and just

0:19

try to get as close as you can to give our

0:21

team an opportunity to finish

0:23

it, and we just came up short. So

0:26

it's it's kind of just we're just all

0:28

shelf shocked a little bit. We didn't expect it to end

0:30

that way, but we put

0:32

ourselves in a pretty good position to win that

0:34

game and we just battled all all that

0:37

long. So I'm just probably the way the guys stuck together,

0:39

um, and it's been privileged just be a

0:41

part of this family and play with these guys, and um,

0:44

it just didn't go our way at the end. So that

0:47

said said to you right before that drive

0:49

it begins, what did you feel for

0:52

that moment and the opportunity that you had

0:54

right there? Yeah, for sure, Just um

0:57

my mindset was just keep everything, just go

0:59

out there doing my find completions and

1:01

put my team in a position to

1:03

hopefully finish it the right way. So I

1:05

just went out there very calm,

1:07

make sure my guys knew that we all believed.

1:10

So um, there was never a doubt that we're

1:12

out of the game for any one seconds. I

1:14

was just back there doing my job. It all

1:16

starts up front for us all

1:18

season long with those five guys. They protected me. I

1:21

love them to death. I can't thank them enough

1:23

for all they've done, just protecting me,

1:25

sacrificing your body and

1:27

and really getting us going all season long. So

1:29

a lot of credit to my five linemen

1:32

and what they do for this team. And then from there,

1:34

it's just playing pitch and catch, going down

1:36

the field, finding completions, iding the

1:38

defense, and um, just finding

1:40

completions to try to put ourselves in a position to

1:43

go. So, um, just

1:46

don't think about the moment and everything else that's going

1:48

on. Just just play the game once and hap at the time,

1:50

that was my mindset, and we wanted

1:53

to coach. You did say that we wanted to write our

1:55

story and started off, but it

1:57

doesn't always go the way you want it to, and that's life.

2:00

That's football. There's a very crazy,

2:03

like finalizing thing about football

2:05

when you come up short, um, but

2:07

you got to be proud of all the work we put in and how we stuck

2:09

together and the guys in that locker room and

2:12

there's there's a lot of love for all

2:14

the guys on the team, and it's it was

2:16

awesome to be a part of. So we just

2:18

shocked right now, right before

2:21

the field goal. What did you get defensively?

2:23

What did you see there on the throw the

2:26

one that was over Anthony.

2:28

Yeah, it was cover zero

2:30

and uh it was for

2:33

the ball's got to go in the end zone. It can't be

2:35

completed before because we wouldn't

2:37

have had enough time to clock it. So basically

2:40

I was just trying to throw it, um to

2:42

a matchup and I pack to Anthony it was

2:44

cover zero and I try to put it in the spot where he could

2:46

run in under it, but he'd have to catch

2:48

it in the end zone because if you catched it before and it

2:50

was down, then we wouldn't have had enough time

2:52

to clock it for a field goal. So it was a weird situation.

2:55

Um, try to do the best

2:58

we could, but it would have been cool

3:00

well to if you could get under it.

3:02

But um, yeah we still

3:04

had a shot. We were in a position and it just didn't go

3:06

away the first half of what the defense

3:08

did to kind of get you guys in the roll a couple of times, it's

3:10

kind of missed opportunity to create some offense. Sorry,

3:13

look at the first half, it's kind of missed oppy, some missed

3:15

opportunities to kind to create

3:17

some points. Yeah. Sometimes, Um,

3:20

I mean that's how it was with our offense. Sometimes we

3:22

were rolling and then rhythm and other times we weren't.

3:25

And it's just making adjustments on the sideline,

3:27

getting our mindset, getting everybody on the same page.

3:30

And I truly believe it all starts in the huddle. Um,

3:32

just getting guys in and out, breaking the huddle

3:35

and everybody, everybody be on the same page, doing

3:37

their job. And there's a couple of drives that didn't

3:39

go away in the first half. But I mean we're a team.

3:41

We know we have a great defense, and they did

3:43

our job, and we just need to get something going on offense.

3:46

So it's not always the way

3:48

you exactly want it to be, and it didn't

3:50

go that way, but I'm gonna have to

3:52

watch it as well. But I mean, of course there's always

3:54

needs you could done better. Throughout the course the game, and

3:56

you want that, but we still made plays in the

3:59

second half to give us a shot. We just gotta

4:01

to make that next step. It is

4:03

making those plays in the first half, taking more pressure

4:05

off our defense and score more points.

4:08

So we definitely want to just score more.

4:11

But you gotta be proud of the way we battled. I know, I

4:13

am. We'll start clicking for you and all in

4:15

that second half. Yeah, just taking

4:18

taking advantage of the backside matchup. They

4:20

do a great job of taking away the

4:23

passing strength for us and just

4:25

making you take

4:28

away certain spots and throws. They're playing

4:30

off zone, So we just had to find ways and get

4:32

creative to get the ball to our

4:34

playmakers. And a Rob did a great job run his

4:36

routes and getting open and I was just trying to put it in

4:38

a spot for him to make plays and

4:40

he made a bunch of great catches. And like

4:43

everything else, it starts up front with our

4:45

guys giving me time. So, uh

4:48

yeah, proud of the way they battled. They robbing played

4:50

a heck of a game, and uh, I

4:52

was just trying to do my job and get the ball to our playmakers.

4:55

A captain of the team. How do you process

4:57

Cody Parky's role in this loss considering

4:59

the season, we win and lose as

5:01

a team and really as a

5:03

family, so there's never one play that

5:05

decides the game. There's

5:08

a lot of things we could have done throughout as

5:10

an offense, as a defense, as a special teams

5:12

to make the game go our way. And we had

5:14

a chance at the end, and the

5:16

last play didn't go our away, But it doesn't define

5:19

the game. I'm probably the way we played, the

5:21

way we battled, but

5:23

I mean we stick together. We're a family. So you

5:26

win as a family and you lose, and

5:29

when everything's going good and you win, it feels

5:32

awesome. But when things don't go your way and you lose,

5:35

you have to deal with that as well. So it's

5:37

not the way we want to tend. But that's the reality.

5:40

And all we could do is I

5:42

mean, just because something goes wrong doesn't mean

5:44

we we break apart and we don't stick

5:46

together. That's not who we are, that's not the kind of culture

5:48

we built in that locker room. We just come

5:50

together even tighter and make sure that it

5:52

makes us better for the future and this

5:55

team's it may not ever be the same, but

5:57

wherever we go, we'll always remember this

5:59

team in this experience and just make sure

6:02

it makes us better for the future. To

6:05

reap involved tonight touch

6:08

I know that's a lot less than Yeah,

6:11

they did a good job keen on him and

6:13

taking her away. And sometimes that's

6:15

how it is with our offense. Um,

6:18

different guys are going to get touches based

6:20

on what the defense has given us, and

6:23

uh, we should always figure

6:25

out more ways to get tune on the ball, and

6:28

tonight it didn't. But I thought we were still

6:30

pretty efficient on offense, especially in the second

6:32

half. And uh, it's all about just taking

6:34

the matchups and taking where the defense gives us, and

6:37

we're moving the ball. But we just got we needed

6:39

to take the next step to score more touchdowns,

6:42

but we didn't. And uh,

6:44

that's part of it. So I don't have a

6:46

great answer for you for that question, but that's that's

6:48

how it was tonight. There's

6:51

there's no one that knows how far you've come to share

6:53

as much as he does. How far do

6:55

you feel like you've come, And just

6:57

the idea of attacking the off season and knowing

7:00

where this offense can be with another yeard of the

7:02

system. Yeah, I feel like I've come a

7:04

long way, but I also feel

7:06

like I'm really just getting started. There's a lot I can

7:08

still improve on, and

7:10

just this season and experiences like that.

7:12

In the end, we're are definitely just going to motivate me

7:15

even more for the future. I'm

7:17

hungrier than ever and I can't wait to just get

7:19

back to work and get started. I think the future

7:21

is bright. And yeah,

7:24

just very thankful for all the fans that have

7:26

stuck through with us all season long. It

7:30

was a lot really fun season, and I appreciate

7:32

the way we stuck together

7:35

family, and we all grew in

7:37

different areas and I thought I

7:39

got better, but I'm

7:41

just scratching the surface. Hopefully. I know this is

7:44

this experience. I'm just gonna do a lot

7:46

of self reflecting and make sure that I get

7:48

better from this and that it

7:50

motivates me to become the best

7:52

player I possibly can. So, Yeah,

7:58

you talk about some of the stopportunity of the first but

8:00

then you put your team in position and the second

8:02

half. How do you kind of balance those those two halves in terms

8:04

of when you evaluate your own game. Yeah,

8:07

you you always want to play great for your

8:09

team and go out there and do your job, but

8:11

it's also got to be a next play mentality, So

8:13

you don't you don't play as well as you want the first half,

8:15

we're not getting the rhythm, we're not going as

8:18

much as much as we'd want to. I mean,

8:20

who cares. Put it behind you. There's always

8:22

the next play to be had, and you just got

8:24

to keep battling and uh, and

8:27

we can keep believing, and that's what we did. We were

8:29

never out of the fight. It's never going to be exactly

8:31

how you want it to be, Um, but we

8:34

found ways to win all season long,

8:36

and tonight we just came up a little short. But

8:38

it was always just continue to stick together,

8:40

forget about the bad plays, forget about what we couldn't

8:42

do, and focus on the next plays and what

8:45

we can accomplish, and everyone just go out,

8:47

go out there, do your job and stick together. How'd

8:50

you feel Trapperies absence? Yeah,

8:53

obviously we want all their playmakers out there.

8:55

It was unfortunate um that

8:57

he can be out there with us tonight, and I

8:59

know, UM it's it's probably

9:01

burning for him, UM to not be

9:03

out there, but it's for us

9:05

it's just stick together, support

9:08

him and support the next guy who's got

9:10

to step up for him. And we know we got a lot of playmakers

9:13

on offense, so is the next guy step up? And

9:15

you've got to have your brothers back, so filling for

9:17

him and do your job and coming and do it on this

9:19

offense. But we know the type of player that Trey

9:22

is and um, he just he makes

9:24

our offense better. And but he he continued

9:26

to have our backs on the sideline just being there supporting

9:29

us, helping guys and uh

9:31

and just make sure he's still part of this team

9:33

and family
