Our mission is to create a space for student to engage with topics that the Chicano and Latino community face in today’s world. We want to expose CSULB students to CHLS through discussions. The Discussions reflect those that engage students in CHLS classrooms and emphasize the need, importance, and application of ethnic studies in the real world. With the rapidly changing social, economic, and political landscape there is an increased need for well rounded individuals to take lead and help others understand the how and why changes happen. CHLS, and other Ethnic Studies departments, prepare their students to be competent and competitive leaders that will inspire change.
