Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Lisa Wooley, Executive Director of RoofTop, who discusses their history and efforts to provide rent or mortgage assistance to residents of Davidson County, preventing evictions and potential homelessness. During the interview, Wooley highlights their impact and ways they have continued to provide needed support through the pandemic, tornado and bombing, along with their collaborative approach, lessons learned and ways individuals can help them make a difference.

  • Keep Nashville Housed: Building stability through as compassionate & collaborative rent/mortgage assistance program.
  • Rooftop’s only program is to provide rent or mortgage assistance to residents of Davidson County, preventing evictions and potential homelessness.
  • During 2020, Rooftop’s focus was primary on our neighbors who had been impacted by the tornado or COVID.  We continued to assist residents who had a non-COVID related one-time financial hardship but were ordinarily sustainable.
  • In 2021, we will continue to work with the community to walk with our neighbors facing the ongoing economic impacts of COVID (or the tornado or the bomb).  We are working with both government, nonprofit, and business partners to support programs that prevent eviction and lift families out of poverty.
  • At the moment, we are still unable to be in our building on a regular basis.  We don’t have an opportunity for in-person volunteers.  The community can support by following us on Facebook and getting information out to the public and supporting financially to keep their neighbors housed.  We are working on plans for The Big Payback in May.  We’d be happy to include any marketing/creative types who want to be on a committee developing that campaign.
