Are you ready to jumpstart your

0:02

mojo and motivation? That's what we're

0:04

doing today. I'm giving you

0:06

a kick in the pants. I'm giving me a kick in the

0:08

pants and we're going to get up and we're going

0:11

to do amazing things together. Hey,

0:17

clutter bugs. Welcome back to

0:19

the clutter bug podcast today. It's

0:22

all about motivation and

0:24

inspiration and mojo and

0:27

mojo to me is like that. Feeling

0:30

of ambition that like, yes,

0:34

I'm excited to tackle my life kind

0:36

of feeling. And if

0:38

you're like me, you go

0:40

through periods of time where you

0:43

feel you got the

0:45

mojo and periods of

0:47

time where it is completely

0:49

gone. And right

0:51

now I don't have a lot

0:53

of that mojo. And

0:56

I'm not saying that we have to be go gutters 24 seven

0:58

because that is unrealistic and we

1:00

will burn ourselves out. But

1:03

what's really fascinating. And maybe

1:05

you can relate for

1:08

me is when I get into

1:10

a period, like where

1:12

I give myself just full

1:14

rest and I just do

1:17

the nothing. It

1:19

feels impossible to get started

1:21

again. When

1:23

you're in a state of. Like slow, I'm not, I don't

1:26

want to say lazy because

1:28

that's a terrible world word, but when you're in a state

1:30

of like, yeah. Not

1:33

being productive. I think, I think

1:36

the whole thing is like. Objects

1:40

and rest, stay in rest and objects in motion, stay in motion.

1:42

Maybe Newton said that I have no idea. Some

1:44

smart physicist type person said this. And

1:47

it's like, I have no idea what to

1:49

do with it. I have no idea

1:51

what to do with it. I have no idea what to do with it. I

1:54

have no idea what to do with it.

1:57

And I just don't know how to do it. And

1:59

I think that's a really good idea. for us as well and

2:02

our motivation. So when we're doing

2:04

things, when we're at work and we're

2:06

coming home or we're busy and we've got a lot

2:08

of things on the go, we're

2:10

more likely to get more things done,

2:13

the busier and the more moving we

2:15

are. When we stop

2:19

and we do the nothing for a while,

2:21

whether it's watching lots of movies

2:23

on TV or sitting and reading

2:25

or surfing the web, getting

2:28

up and getting moving again can feel

2:32

impossible. And

2:35

I last week went to Disney World.

2:37

We went for nine days with my

2:39

family. So the week leading up to

2:41

that, I worked like a dog. I

2:43

had to get so much done, film

2:46

extra videos, do a bunch of stuff so

2:48

that I could take nine days off work.

2:51

And when I came back, I

2:54

just about crashed and died. While

2:56

we were in Disney, we had five

2:58

days of theme parks. Even

3:01

on the days we weren't going to theme parks, we were

3:03

either it was a travel day, so it was crazy, or

3:06

we were out shopping and we went to

3:08

Disney Springs and we went to Medieval Times

3:11

and we did like a bunch of things.

3:13

We went swimming and we

3:15

woke up in the morning at 6.30 and

3:20

we didn't get home and I didn't

3:22

go to bed until midnight or even

3:24

later every single day. And

3:26

all day was walking and go. I

3:29

had my watch on my Apple watch

3:31

and it was like, you're working out.

3:33

Today you fit your weekly walking. It

3:38

was crazy. I was so tired, so

3:40

exhausted that the day I got

3:42

home, I fell

3:44

into bed and I stayed in

3:46

bed from like two

3:48

in the afternoon until like

3:50

two in the afternoon the next day, just

3:53

getting out to get snacks and go to the washroom and coming

3:55

right back to bed. And then

3:57

I said, well, I think I feel like I need another

3:59

day. So it was another day of just laying

4:01

around and watching TV. And

4:04

then another day of just

4:06

doing the nothing as the dishes

4:08

piled, as the laundry

4:11

piled, still hadn't unpacked the

4:13

suitcases. And now

4:16

we're going on the fourth day and

4:19

I am exhausted. I

4:23

am exhausted from doing very

4:26

little. I'm exhausted from

4:28

doing the nothing. I'm not physically

4:30

exhausted. I'm emotionally, I just

4:32

don't have any motivation

4:35

or mojo because

4:41

I've been in a state of rest

4:44

for too long. And getting started

4:46

again is the hardest thing.

4:48

Getting up and getting moving and getting

4:50

going, that is hands down the most

4:52

difficult part. I

4:55

can't wait for motivation to hit me. I can't wait

4:57

to feel inspired. I can't wait to feel

4:59

like, yeah, I want to get up and

5:01

unpack and do the dishes because it's not

5:03

going to happen. We have

5:05

to make it happen. And

5:09

I could yell at you and yell at myself

5:12

to get up and get moving. But we're going

5:14

to try something a little bit different today. We're

5:17

going to try a visualization

5:20

technique to

5:22

help us really want to, not

5:25

just getting up and going because we have to,

5:28

but wanting to.

5:32

And coming from a place of

5:34

love and gratitude and

5:37

true inspiration.

5:40

Okay, so we're going to do this really quickly.

5:42

Then we're going to grab a trash bag and

5:44

you and I are going to move mountains today.

5:47

Or we're going to clean or whatever it is that

5:49

you want to do, but I'm hoping you choose

5:52

trash bag. But

5:54

let's start with the visualization. You

5:57

can close your eyes or you can not close your eyes.

6:00

You know, you do you, but

6:02

I really want you to think about your

6:04

home and think about what you're so

6:07

grateful for about your

6:09

house. There

6:11

are people, a lot of people, who

6:14

would kill to have

6:16

your home. There

6:18

are people who don't have a home. There are

6:21

people who are still living with their parents. There

6:23

are people who have lost their

6:25

home. We are so

6:27

lucky. But

6:30

what specifically about your house do

6:32

you really love and are

6:34

so grateful for? We're

6:38

not talking about when it's perfect and when

6:40

it's clean and when everything's away and when

6:42

everything looks amazing. That

6:46

is unrealistic. We can't only appreciate

6:48

our house in the good times.

6:50

What are you grateful for about your house? What

6:52

do you love about your house right

6:55

now? I love

6:58

my windows. It's

7:01

so bright. There's so much light that comes

7:03

in. After living in a

7:05

house that was very dark for so long,

7:07

I love the sunlight

7:09

that comes into my house and

7:12

it feels so bright. Think

7:16

right now, I want you to really

7:18

capture something that you love about your house.

7:21

You may think that this is odd, but

7:24

just come with me on this

7:27

journey because I promise you

7:29

you're going to feel some mojo

7:32

coming back in doing this exercise

7:34

and you can do this at any time. So we're thinking

7:36

about things you're grateful for. What

7:38

else? Can you think of something else?

7:40

Do you love your bed? Is it cozy? Do

7:43

you love curtains in your home?

7:47

Do you love the softness

7:49

of a space or

7:51

the brightness or the openness

7:54

or the closeness of a space?

7:57

Do you love your neighborhood? Do

8:00

you love that feeling when you pull into your

8:02

driveway after a long day and

8:05

you open the door and it's just home?

8:11

What do you love? Really, really

8:13

think about all the different things about your

8:15

house that you absolutely love

8:17

and it's important because that feeling

8:19

of love for your house, that

8:21

gratitude for your home and the

8:23

things in your home that really

8:26

make you happy, when we remember

8:28

those, when we focus on those,

8:30

when we pick those out and

8:32

make those a priority in our

8:34

thoughts, something

8:37

really magical happens. We

8:40

fall in love with our house all over

8:42

again, so we're focusing on those. Now

8:45

I want you to do something

8:49

a little different and imagine a space,

8:53

one space, really

8:55

clean and organized and

8:57

tidy. Hopefully you've gotten there in

8:59

the past and revisit, you know,

9:01

what that looks like, really visualize

9:03

it, but maybe today it's your

9:06

living room. You've got it

9:08

completely tidy, all the pillows are

9:10

tidy if you have pillows, everything

9:12

straightens up, it's vacuum, it's dusted,

9:15

it feels so inviting. Maybe

9:17

it's your kitchen, the counters are

9:19

cleared off, all the

9:22

dishes are done, it's gleaming.

9:25

You can see the front of your

9:27

fridge, it

9:30

feels so clean. Feel

9:35

that pride and that love

9:37

for that space, that clean

9:40

organized space. Like

9:43

honestly, feel

9:45

how good that that feels

9:49

and that is the feeling that you're going to give

9:51

yourself today. You are

9:54

going to love your

9:56

home today and what I'd like

9:58

you to do is to love your home. with me, what

10:01

I'm going to do, and what I hope you do

10:03

with me is grab a trash bag. Maybe

10:06

it's a bag for donation, a box

10:09

for donation. It can just be a

10:11

trash bag though, if that's all you

10:13

can manage. And we

10:15

are going to make a difference in

10:17

our space today. If

10:20

you're not in the mood to declutter and

10:22

that feels overwhelming and just me saying that

10:24

today we're letting stuff go makes you

10:27

kind of close up and feel a little

10:29

bit anxious, you're not going to work on

10:31

that. You're going to do the dishes.

10:33

You're going to, you're going to

10:36

grab a cleaner and a rag and

10:38

just go around and wipe surfaces. You're

10:41

going to do something that makes

10:43

you feel excited about your home.

10:45

Whatever that is today. This is

10:47

not about getting to a place

10:50

where like, Oh, look what I've

10:52

accomplished and look at how perfect

10:54

my house looks. This is

10:56

about, I'm going to

10:58

love on my house today. I'm going

11:00

to hug the crap out of

11:03

my house today. I'm going to

11:05

fall back in love with my

11:07

space by giving it acts

11:09

of kindness, whatever

11:12

that is. And it's getting

11:14

up and I'm getting moving

11:17

and I'm going to feel good. For

11:20

me, I know I need to let

11:23

go. When I start to feel in

11:25

my house that I get to a

11:27

place where things take

11:29

longer than it should, or

11:31

I'm not energized when

11:33

cleaning, cause it's so much stuff

11:36

shuffling and moving stuff around and I'm

11:38

having a hard time putting everything away

11:40

because everything's so jammed. I

11:42

know I need to fill a trash bag and the,

11:45

the magical amazing thing about decluttering

11:49

in this way, which is just

11:51

grabbing a bag and filling it.

11:54

Is that it's never going to go

11:57

back because

11:59

things are leaving forever. I will

12:02

never be done the dishes. We're

12:05

gonna eat. I'm gonna use a coffee mug. I'm gonna

12:08

use a plate and I'm right back into

12:10

having dishes that need to be cleaned. I'm

12:12

never gonna be done all the laundry. My

12:15

space is never gonna be a hundred percent clean

12:17

because we live here. So it

12:21

sometimes can feel defeating to

12:24

work hard on getting something

12:26

done when it's immediately undone.

12:29

Decluttering is different because

12:33

once those things leave your house they're

12:35

never coming back. Things will creep back

12:37

into your house but those things are

12:39

gone forever. You have pushed the needle

12:42

forward. You have made a difference and

12:44

it's not something that is undone

12:46

tomorrow and I need a win

12:48

like that today. So

12:51

I'm not gonna worry about unpacking the suitcases

12:53

right now or doing the pile of

12:55

dishes or catching up on all the laundry

12:57

or dusting and vacuuming

12:59

after a week's worth of things

13:02

like accumulating. Things are leaving my

13:04

house today so that when I

13:07

do do those things, the

13:10

dishes, the laundry, the unpacking, it's

13:12

going to be a bit easier.

13:14

I'm giving myself a big win.

13:17

I'm going into the pantry and I'm

13:19

throwing up the stale crackers and the

13:21

bags of chips that weren't sealed up

13:24

properly and are definitely stale. I'm getting

13:27

rid of all that excess candy we

13:29

got at Christmas time that nobody has

13:31

even eaten. We

13:33

got chocolates on Valentine's that nobody really

13:36

liked. They're not gonna be

13:38

eaten. They're gone. They're going. Not

13:40

even giving it a second thought. I

13:43

am decluttering like a madwoman

13:45

today. I'm filling a trash bag

13:47

because I deserve it.

13:49

Because my house deserves it. Because

13:51

I'm grateful for my home and

13:54

it's beautiful and I love it

13:56

and I want to treat it

13:58

with respect. and filling it

14:01

with things that I don't use and

14:03

love and junk, even if it's little

14:05

bibbidi bop scrap pieces of paper or

14:08

wrappers or whatever it is, is disrespectful

14:11

to my home. And

14:13

it's disrespectful to me

14:15

and my family. It

14:18

is making life harder.

14:21

It is making my home messier.

14:24

It is making cleaning it

14:26

more difficult. And a knife

14:28

is a knife. And

14:31

we're going to hold on

14:33

to that feeling of gratitude

14:35

and love while

14:38

we do this, because

14:40

we are doing this because

14:42

our home is our respite,

14:46

because we are so freaking

14:48

lucky to have it. And

14:52

it isn't about getting it to a state

14:54

of perfection. It is

14:57

about respecting it and ourselves

14:59

with the act of

15:02

caring for it. Because

15:04

when we care for our house, we care for ourselves.

15:08

We do. It is an act

15:10

of self-love. It

15:13

is a form of self-love.

15:17

So that's what we're doing today. And if

15:20

you're feeling a little mojo, I hope you're

15:22

up. Whether you've grabbed a garbage

15:24

bag and you're opening up cabinets and you're

15:26

looking for a mug that can go, or

15:28

you're looking for old

15:31

makeup in your bathroom that

15:33

can go, and you're just

15:35

trusting yourself. And

15:38

you're just letting go of the anxiety and

15:40

the what if, and maybe I'll make

15:42

a mistake. And you're trusting your gut.

15:46

Because you know that this is an

15:48

act of love. And you need to

15:51

let stuff go in order to get

15:53

to a place where your house doesn't

15:55

feel like work in order

15:57

for you to not have to sit. Escape

16:01

the work by watching TV

16:03

or surfing the web or whatever it

16:05

is that you're doing because it's so

16:07

freaking Overwhelming you can't even think about

16:09

dealing with it because it's so freaking

16:12

much, but it isn't And

16:15

it doesn't have to be it's

16:18

one foot in front of the other

16:22

Every time you get something out Your

16:26

life is easier your house will

16:28

be easier to manage And

16:33

again if the thought of decluttering is overwhelming

16:35

you right now then that's okay, too What

16:39

are you doing in this moment? To

16:42

care for this beautiful space that's

16:45

your home Polish

16:48

something wipe something scrub

16:51

something tidy something

16:55

But please while you're doing this while

16:57

you're running around your house doing this

16:59

have a trash bag nearby Have a

17:01

garbage can nearby so when you spot

17:03

something you're just like well, that's leaving

17:06

That's going open up those bathroom

17:08

drawers. Oh that old toothpaste is

17:10

nasty But I have a random

17:12

toothpaste cap that doesn't

17:14

even go with the toothpick We're looking at

17:17

old toothbrush that I then replaced the toothbrush

17:19

for some reason. I kept the old one.

17:21

Goodbye friends Because

17:23

we can do light decluttering and

17:26

getting things out while we're doing

17:28

the cleaning process, too And

17:32

we're not taking things out and doing deep down

17:34

scrubs today unless that's what you're called to do

17:36

But that isn't what cleaning is about That

17:40

isn't what loving and carrying your house.

17:42

It's not about perfection We're never ever

17:45

ever going to get to a point

17:47

where everything's perfectly spotlessly clean And it

17:50

stays that way because you just walk in

17:52

in your house is getting it

17:54

dirty You just drinking out of

17:57

a glass is getting that glass

17:59

dirty So

18:01

this drive for

18:03

perfection, for getting it

18:05

done, is unrealistic.

18:07

We're never done laundry because

18:09

you're wearing clothes right now.

18:11

It's not about catching

18:14

up or getting done. It's

18:16

about consistently caring

18:20

and doing a little bit. It's

18:24

loving on your home a little bit

18:26

because when you hug your house, it

18:29

hugs you right back. Let's

18:32

talk about some really quick things that you can do

18:34

to feel that mojo, to

18:37

feel that motivation, to shortcut cleaning

18:39

your house. But first I have

18:41

to thank today's podcast sponsor, Factor.

18:45

Factor has delicious ready-to-eat

18:47

meals. They're fresh, never

18:49

frozen, chef-crafted, dietician approved,

18:51

and ready to go

18:53

in literally two minutes.

18:56

You guys know that I love having

18:59

a meal kit, but when I'm super

19:01

overwhelmed, even cooking a meal kit can

19:03

feel overwhelming, and my gut is

19:06

to go to fast food. But

19:08

instead, what I've been trying is Factor.

19:11

So every week I can choose

19:14

from more than 35 different, protein-boosted,

19:16

incredible meals that are already cooked

19:19

for me. They're

19:23

kind of like a microwave dinner, but

19:25

they're healthy. They're not frozen. They're absolutely

19:27

delicious. And I have

19:29

so much variety that I really get to pick

19:32

what I want. I especially love these for

19:34

lunches. So they have breakfast options.

19:36

They have dinner options. But for me, I work

19:39

from home. I'm super busy. I need

19:42

a healthy, fast, delicious lunch, and Factor

19:44

is what I choose from. It

19:47

is the perfect solution if

19:49

you're looking for fast, really

19:51

healthy, good quality, delicious,

19:55

no cooking required meals. And

19:57

I've done the math. Like it's less expensive than

19:59

takeout. And I know

20:01

it's way, way healthier too. Right

20:03

now, you can give this

20:06

a try. Head to factormeals.com/clutterbug50

20:08

and use the code clutterbug50

20:10

to get 50% off.

20:13

That's code clutterbug50

20:16

at factormeals.com/clutterbug50 to

20:18

get 50% off.

20:26

One of my favorite things to do is find shortcuts.

20:31

Find shortcuts for getting a tidy

20:33

clean house with way less effort

20:36

because if something takes me forever,

20:38

I find that

20:40

motivation, that inspiration, that like get up and

20:42

go that I feel wanes. We

20:45

need to be able to do this quickly, which

20:47

is why I love power hours or even the

20:50

dirty 30, I call it, which is 30 minutes

20:53

of really intense cleaning

20:56

or decluttering or organization

20:59

that when we're done, we're like, look

21:02

what I did, but it doesn't drag

21:04

on for hours. It's that drag on.

21:07

It's those tasks that really feel like

21:09

they're never going to end, that can

21:12

zap our energy. So

21:15

shortcuts are really incredible

21:18

because we're embracing the I'm

21:20

going to do it crappy.

21:23

I'm going to give myself permission

21:25

to not do this

21:27

perfectly, but to

21:29

get something wrong. Because

21:32

that feeling of satisfaction

21:34

and pride and finality

21:36

in I completed a

21:39

task helps us keep

21:42

that mojo and that energy going.

21:45

So here's something that I love. A

21:47

quick thing that I love doing is

21:49

grabbing one product. I talk about this

21:51

often, but that one product wonder, grabbing

21:54

a multi-purpose cleaner. It can be vinegar and

21:56

water with like a splash of dish soap.

21:58

You can make your own. It

22:01

can be any multi-purpose cleaner and

22:04

one cloth and just running around

22:06

and wiping stuff. We

22:08

don't have to take everything off. We're just wiping.

22:10

We're wiping the coffee table. We're wiping window sills.

22:13

We're wiping maybe picture frames.

22:15

We're just wiping stuff.

22:18

The base of lamps. Any

22:21

flat surface, spray and

22:23

wipe. Spray and wipe and keep

22:26

on moving. If

22:28

there's stuff on those surfaces and you're like,

22:30

I can't wipe it, stack it in a

22:32

neat pile and wipe around. If

22:35

you're really feeling ambitious, go ahead

22:37

and grab that pile and

22:39

put it away in the place where

22:41

you would look for it first. Or better

22:43

yet, put a lot of it in

22:46

a trash bag because a lot

22:48

of that you don't need in that pile.

22:51

You don't need the empty boxes. You don't need that

22:54

random paper in the junk mail and the flyers

22:56

and the coupons. You

22:58

don't need it. You don't need those

23:00

random kids bibbidi-bopbidi things. Barbie

23:03

shoes and bouncy balls and

23:05

excess wigs. What even is

23:07

this? Throw it in the

23:09

trash. I'm

23:11

getting distracted. I'm getting

23:14

excited. That's why I'm getting distracted because let's

23:16

go back. The one product

23:18

Wonder has

23:20

transformed my house because I

23:23

allow myself to just flit

23:25

and flutter around, wiping

23:28

random things. And I'm

23:31

finding dirt I would never find otherwise.

23:33

My house is so much cleaner because

23:36

of this little practice, but it doesn't

23:38

feel like work and effort. It

23:41

just feels like just

23:45

random wiping with no

23:47

pressure, no expectations, no

23:49

rigid cleaning routine. And

23:51

I discover dirt.

23:55

And I find myself tidying as

23:57

I do this because

23:59

of K-Titra. the pressure off myself. My house

24:01

is so much cleaner and I really want you

24:03

to give this a tray. This

24:07

is an incredible technique. Another

24:09

shortcut is literally grabbing a trash bag and I've

24:11

talked about this in the beginning. I'll talk about

24:13

this till the day I die and just walking

24:15

around and putting stuff in the trash. You

24:19

have garbage in your house everywhere.

24:22

You have empty shampoo bottles in your

24:24

shower probably. You open up

24:26

a bathroom drawer. I guarantee you're going to

24:28

find garbage especially if you have teens. For

24:30

some reason my teens are so gross they'll

24:32

like take their makeup off with a mic

24:35

makeup removing wipe and they'll put it back

24:37

in the drawer dirty. Why? They'll

24:39

open a package of toothpaste and they'll put the

24:41

box back in the

24:43

drawer. Why? I don't know but

24:47

it's so satisfying to be able to fill

24:49

a bag

24:51

to be able to go

24:53

around and open your bedside table and

24:55

your drawers and cabinets

24:58

and just things

25:01

are leaving.

25:03

You're standing up for your

25:05

house. You're

25:07

respecting it but you're also

25:09

not letting the bullies make

25:13

you second guess yourself. You're just like

25:15

no you are not worth it. You

25:17

are not more important than my beautiful

25:19

home. You are not more important

25:21

than me. You are trash and

25:23

you are going where you belong

25:25

which is in a garbage bag.

25:27

No regrets. No second guessing yourself.

25:31

Just putting it in the trash and

25:33

moving on and as you do this

25:35

as you go around your house and

25:37

you take back control it

25:41

feels so good. It is so

25:44

empowering and it is a shortcut

25:47

because with less stuff it's less work

25:50

and stop. Every tiny thing you

25:52

let go of. I don't care if your house is

25:54

filled to the brim. Anything

25:56

you let go of today that leaves your

25:59

house forever. is making

26:01

a huge difference. You

26:04

are not going to get everything done

26:06

today. That is unrealistic, but that

26:08

does not mean that you don't start today.

26:12

That I have to wait until I

26:14

can do it all approach is why

26:16

we are stuck in

26:19

this sedentary, overwhelmed,

26:21

I can't get moving feeling.

26:25

We only have to do something, and you

26:27

only have to do something while you listen to

26:29

this podcast. As soon as this podcast is done,

26:32

if you feel like you've done enough and you

26:34

want to stop, stop. But right

26:36

now, together, get up and get moving.

26:38

We are in this together and we

26:40

are taking action. And

26:43

that feeling, that attitude,

26:45

that gratitude for

26:47

your home is so

26:50

contagious. If

26:53

you're feeling this way about your space, you're going

26:56

to want to keep going. But other people in

26:58

your home are going to feel it too. Be

27:02

the leader that I know you are

27:04

and get up and let's do

27:07

something really amazing today together. I'm

27:09

feeling like I want to go right now, clean my house.

27:12

I'm sitting here. I'm

27:14

talking myself into feeling excited. I'm

27:18

also going to do little things to love on my home. I'm

27:20

going to light a candle. I

27:23

still have my Christmas wreath up

27:26

on my front door. I'm

27:28

embarrassed to say that. Yep, I'm just taking that

27:30

down today and I'm going to put up one

27:32

of my spring wreaths. Because

27:35

then when I look at my door, I'm going to think,

27:37

I'm going to love on it. I'm going to love on

27:39

my house today. Maybe I'm going

27:41

to go outside and just like wash one window on

27:43

the outside so the light comes in even better. Oh

27:47

God, I don't have to do all the windows. You don't have

27:49

to do all the windows. You don't have

27:51

to clean out. Your entire

27:53

appliances, you don't have to wash your entire

27:56

fridge. You can wash one shelf that has a

27:58

spill. You

28:00

don't have to vacuum your entire house. You

28:02

can just vacuum the kitchen, the

28:04

living room where you see dirt.

28:08

This isn't all or nothing friends. This

28:13

is getting up, getting

28:16

moving and finding that mojo, finding

28:18

that love. And when it starts

28:20

to feel like you're waning and

28:22

you're looking around, you're like, this

28:24

place is a dumpster fire. What

28:27

is the point? We come back

28:29

to the gratitude and the attitude of love. What

28:32

do you love about your

28:34

home? What are you

28:36

so grateful for? It's

28:41

really easy for us to

28:43

be stuck in a negative

28:45

cycle about our house because

28:48

housework can suck and

28:50

it can feel never ending. And we can

28:52

clean a space when our family comes in

28:54

and trashes it right away. And we can

28:56

feel like we are a slave

28:59

to our home and

29:02

our family sometimes. And

29:04

we have this never ending drudgery

29:08

of housework and

29:11

that feeling can make us

29:13

resentful. It can make

29:15

us resentful of our home. It can make

29:17

us just really feeling negative

29:20

and down and stuck in

29:22

a state of overwhelm and

29:24

unmotivation, but

29:27

it's also easy to break free of

29:29

that by focusing

29:31

on the positive things. And I know, mindset,

29:34

it's so annoying when people talk about

29:37

that, change your mindset, change your life,

29:39

but it's true. You

29:42

can hate your house or you can love it and the choice

29:44

is yours. And it

29:46

doesn't have to be perfectly clean for you to love it. That

29:49

is a lie. We've been telling ourselves

29:52

for way too long. You can love

29:54

your house when it's messy. You can

29:56

love your house when it's filthy. You

29:58

can love your house when it's so

30:00

cluttered. You can't. see your surfaces, you

30:02

can still love your home and you're

30:04

lucky to have it. And,

30:09

and that feeling is

30:11

going to give you what you

30:13

need to get up and make

30:15

it your dream space. It

30:19

comes from a place of love, not hate. Rage

30:23

cleaning is also fun. We

30:26

all do it, but it's

30:28

way better to

30:31

love clean your house than

30:34

it is to hate clean your house. So

30:39

if nothing else, while listening to this

30:41

podcast, I hope you're going

30:43

to remember this. This is your takeaway that

30:46

I want. When you're feeling like you don't

30:48

want to, we only have to think about

30:50

the things you love about your house. We

30:53

don't worry about what we're going to get done today and

30:55

all the things on your to-do list. Those

30:58

can go away. The

31:01

only thing you have to think about is

31:03

why you love this space and what you

31:05

love about your home and

31:07

why you're so lucky to have it

31:11

and how good it feels to

31:14

love it and respect it

31:16

and clean it and take

31:18

care of it. Take

31:21

care of it. Care

31:24

for it and it will

31:26

care for you back. Okay.

31:31

Love spending time with you guys. I got

31:33

to go because I'm going to go upstairs.

31:35

I'm going to start a, start a load

31:38

of laundry. I'm going to put away a

31:40

load of laundry. I'm going to declutter a

31:42

bag today. I'm going to clean that kitchen

31:44

and I am going to listen to like

31:46

a Bridgerton book while I do it. Because

31:49

I'm obsessed with watching Bridgerton right now. I've watched

31:51

it like six times and I'm like, I

31:53

can't wait till the new season comes out. I've

31:56

watched all the other seasons, but why can't I

31:58

listen to it as an audio book? Yes,

32:01

Police. I'm.

32:04

Gonna pick one of those I'm gonna put it on.

32:06

I mean I get my bridge or to nine because

32:08

I can't watch it so might get up a get

32:10

moving and listen to it. And

32:13

the love my House And the love the

32:15

ever living crap. Out. Of my

32:18

house today and they it's not going to be

32:20

perfect and it's not gonna be totally done but

32:22

it can be better. and more than that I'm

32:24

going to be proud of myself. Will

32:27

be. Feeling.

32:29

Contentment. Enjoy! And that's what

32:31

our house is supposed to

32:34

do. It supposed

32:36

to make us proud. Even

32:39

when it's a little messy,

32:41

even when it's a little

32:43

dirty, we still can love.

32:46

The. House that we have. To

32:48

think you guys so much for spending time

32:50

with me today and I'll see you guys

32:52

next time.
