🇺🇸Esjay Jones is a South African-born producer & songwriter now based between Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, California. She had her first major cut in the U.S. alongside co-writer Justin Tranter in 2013 with the single “I Choose U” by TimeFlies on Def Jam Records.  We have a long-standing history but haven't connected as much as we would like since she moved to the United States.  I was really excited to host her on this episode to chat about life, music, living in America, mental health, politics, and what it took to make the move from South Africa.  In the interview, we chat in-depth about her work on Grey Daze's album (Chester Pennington of Linkin Park's first band), working with Head from Korn, Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins, and the various projects she's been working on since moving to the States.   We reference moments from her production sessions with French producer Lucas 'D'Angelo and what it was like listening to outtakes of Chester Bennington recording vocals in his late teens with Grey Daze. Follow Esjay on social media:  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram   You can also follow her LIVE FROM THE COOP sessions: Instagram  YouTube.   ABOUT THE COFFEE & SOCKS SESSIONS PODCAST Hey, I’m Preneil and this is the Coffee & Socks Sessions Podcast   The first thing I do when I wake up is put on a pair of socks, make a cup of coffee, and turn on some music. I became known as the guy who would always have socks on and it’s still the same to this day. I don’t even think my wife has seen my feet. Over time, this became of time of reflection, questions, curiosity, unanswered questions, and… more coffee. In this podcast series, we’ll get to connect with people from around the world and talk about how we’re all navigating through life and trying to make it work. I've met some really incredible and interesting people in my life and I'd like you to get to know them, too. You can read up on my life's journey right here.  We'll get to chat with people from various industries like, music, digital, psychology, marketing, and an abundance of talented creatives from South Africa and around the world.  The people who know me know how much I love music, history, a good conspiracy theory, and pretty much any topic that creates interesting conversations.  I look forward to learning about life with you all.  Assistant Content Producer: Alicia Olivia Find me on social media: LinkedIn  Instagram  Twitter   Coffee & Socks DigitalSubscribe to the podcast: https://anchor.fm/s/1c781f60/podcast/rssSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4GyflVOKG5jpc0PLY6fMYnApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/za/podcast/coffee-socks-sessions-podcast-with-preneil/id1526019632Google: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8xYzc4MWY2MC9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw==
