The podcast being about women sharing their stories and lessons learnt from life, has led to 3 episodes in a row being friends and peers of mine who took those lessons learnt and turned them into books! 

Sarah Bell from Texas, USA, is a peer 3 Vital Questions certified trainer, and I reached out to her on referral from another trainer who told me Sarah was a leader in coaching nurses. I reached out in my researching around my vision for where I’m taking my coaching and training here in Australia.

Sarah has been an ICF certified coach working with nurse managers, nurse leaders and other health care professionals, in the United States, who are seeking leadership growth and development, for some 20 years. Sarah’s 30 years experience as a Registered Nurse began in the United Kingdom continued in the United States, and Sarah said (on the back inside cover of her book) that she struggled with the idea that Healthcare is a business. She observed and personally experienced the pressure nurse leaders face to achieve both clinical and business goals. Those 30 and 20 years clearly have run alongside each other, not one after the other!

This week is International Nurses' & Midwives' Week and perfect timing to discuss Sarah's book: The Successful Nurse Leader - the ultimate guide to transition from Nurse to Manager to Leader, it's purpose, what led to Sarah putting pen to paper; and how it fits in nicely with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) theme for 2022:
